It's 3:00 am where I live in Canada, I got up to have a tea, and came across this video from Hindustan Times. I have spent a most useful 45 minutes watching the discussion, and I have to tell you that I am convinced that Jaishankar is the most educated, experienced, just, knowledgeable, and intelligent diplomat on the planet. India should be proud of him.

@@bobilaforce8252 Yes, I have no doubt that S. Lavrov is one of the best Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the world, but in my opinion, that's only second to S. Jaishankar. I am saying this in a broader and different context based on some fundamental points, although there are many more.
      1) India is considered a secular country with a high level of multicultural diversity, meaning it is a nation where people of various religions, languages, and ethnicities coexist under a system that does not favor any one religion, allowing individuals to practice their faith freely. This diversity is deeply embedded in Indian society, even though the majority of citizens are Hindus.
      2) In addition to this, India has the 3rd largest Muslim population in the world, after Indonesia and Pakistan. India has the 2nd highest number of mosques in the world after Indonesia. Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world. Its ideology and impact on humanity can be seen worldwide. There are 57 Islamic nations, 49 of which have a Muslim majority. Meaning, in other words, India is having the world's largest problem to take care and handle on a daily basis.
      3) On top of that, India chooses to practice democracy rather than dictatorship to govern. It is not easy to govern 1.5 billion people democratically, but it is worth it in the long run as people will eventually learn the true meaning of freedom with a sense of responsibility towards humanity.
      4) English is the most widely spoken language globally and is also one of India's official languages. This makes it easier for any English speakers or writers around the world to influence Indians in a democratic country.
      5) India is surrounded by neighbouring countries that pose constant threats and challenges. It shares land borders with seven countries, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, Myanmar, Nepal, and Bhutan, and maintaining peaceful relations with them is crucial. Except for Bhutan.
      6) India is confronted with challenges from external and internal forces such as Islamic and Christian missionaries, as well as Communism and propaganda from Western countries, all of which seek to create political chaos and destabilize the country.
      7) India's diverse population, which accommodates all, requires a universal ideology and approach to promote peace and prosperity. Educating 1.5 billion citizens and the global community on fundamental human values such as peace, love, equality, and stability is a formidable task within a democratic framework.
      8) India also deals with terrorism activities from external and internal sources, given its geopolitical location.
Managing the balance in such a complex environment is a significant challenge for any Minister of External Affairs. It requires avoiding conflicts, educating the population, and leading the way towards peace and stability democratically.
In contrast, countries like China and Russia, with less diversity and language barriers, find it easier to control their citizens and prevent external influences. This makes it easier for them to manage and influence their populations.
The differences highlighted in these points show the complexity of India's challenges and the commendable job S. Jaishankar is doing in managing them. Despite the obstacles and chaos, he is maintaining balance and leading effectively in the world of foreign affairs democratically.
Additional note, Russia has always been a strong supporter of India, and we Indians worldwide truly appreciate that 🙏🏼 😊 ❤️

As a naturalized German citizen of Indian descent, having spent 45 years in Germany and lived my first 30 years of in India, I was struck by Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar’s remarks. He offered a nuanced lesson to the Western audience on the true values of democracy-suggesting that the effectiveness of democratic models should not be measured solely by the successes or failures of those in Europe or the USA. In India, this model functions exceptionally well, fostering success across all areas of life and embodying core values that need no validation from the West. I believe the Indian Foreign Minister articulated these points eloquently, highlighting the moral double standards prevalent in Western discourse. Kudos to him for his insightful perspective.

There is no such thing as 100% democracy, autocracy, communist, socialist. There is a spectrum. US is a flawed democracy as per democracy index ranking of ~#25, India at ~#85. Sure, some may have voted for higher prices, but the overwhelming majority-and I mean the overwhelming majority-voted for a fundamental change in direction.

They don't give Bangladeshi's their right to run the country and instead poke fingers into their politics and now hold the Indian agent Hassina secure without extraditing her to the rightful people in Bangladesh. This country India armed terrorists to destroy the country of Sri Lanka formerly known as Ceylon and also forced an Indian-written constitution on them. They also forcibly steal fish from Sri Lanka and Maldives...These Indians shut down the trade corridor of Nepal preventing that country from having essential medical supplies. So this Indian minister must better watch how his country practice democracy both within and outside, before giving lectures to West like a guru, which he's not.

no ghar ka..what a useless comment ... i finally understood the comment kutta na ghar ka na ghat ka.... you lived in America for 2 Decades and this this is your evolution ...? Amalgamation ? East and West? Wow ...cannot believe you were allowed into Western Democracies. Indians like you and illegals should never be allowed anywhere. I welcome rest of the people from India or anywhere any race/religion/atheist anything ...but not originally de-evolved humans.

Never heard the Polish leader once mention the people. All he talked about was power and entrenching Democracy which has n become a buzz word for Democratic Party. I understand the question that was asked, but at the same time the people cast a vote. It would seem to me that the Left would focus more on the people instead of their party.

Elon every more. He isn't making a dime from DOGE, but, he has already turned over the rocks of government to find insane corruption and waste. Kudos from an U.S. taxpayer.
