With 11:41 left in the 4th quarter, Kyrie made an and-1 layup to take the Mavs from 69 to 71, and then made the free throw that should have gotten the score to 72, but Kyrie and the Mavericks never got credit for that 1 point. That 1 point that was never added to the Mavs score changed how the Mavs made decisions in the last few minutes when they cut the score down to 3 at one point and then 2 points when they were actually only down 2 and 1. How the hell does a scoring error like that happen?

While edwards runs down the clock, gobert makes sure everyone clears out the paint. Alexander-walker sets a pin down on lively for gobert to take his attention off the ball briefly, and gobert simulatneously flashes to the spot he pointed at earlier to set a screen for edwards. Dallas was blitzing edwards to try and force the ball out of his hands all night, so he automatically drives to his left as soon as gobert comes up and the paint is wide open because lively was going to double high but the action was never there.
Being shorted a point is wild. Mavs being down 3 with the ball and 14 seconds left is completely different than being down 4 with the ball with 14 seconds left. Horrible.
