  • Stokesay Castle History & Tour / 13th Century Castle Unchanged By Time
Stokesay Castle was built in the 13th century and is unique in that it has hardly been altered since. The house was built in local stone which was unusual for the time. Although Stokesay Castle was granted a licence to crenellate (fortify with battlements), it is more a fortified manor house than a castle and has avoided most warfare.

Great presentation and very interesting. When I lived in the UK I always enjoyed visiting Castles but never got to Stokesay. Now back in Australia sadly there are no castles to visit so your video tour was much appreciated. I’ll watch the others too.

What's the extroadinary tour! I Like the richess heritage of architecture in the UK and their history takes my breath away everytime you educate me. I imagine the moment of th eunfortunate event right out of my eyes as you speak. Interior and exterior add a charm to the castle that drop my jaw.
Sorry my disappearing comments on your past vids, but hope to arrive your door.

Well isn't this a treat, enjoyed re-visiting Stokesay castle with you, it looks so beautiful and calm there. Love the history and the tour, my favourite part here is the solar block and it's fireplace, just incredible. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you. Yes it is, you can quite literally step back in time here and the fire place is very impressive but it is the 'squint' peep holes I love most about it 😉
