I cried watching how this love story ended so sadly, their youthfulness and love, reminds us how beautiful it is to be young. Lee Byung Hun and Soo Ae gave justice to their roles.

For those of you confused as to why she chose to leave in the end, it's mainly out of love and a desire to protect both herself and Suk-young. Although she deeply loves him, she understands the harsh political climate in Korea at the time and the dangers her background poses. Having been placed in a political camp because of her father's alleged communist sympathies, she knows that continuing their relationship would jeopardize Suk-young’s life, career,Family members and friends to and future opportunities. She also realizes that their love wouldn't be accepted by society, especially considering how Suk-young’s influential father had to deny and tell his son to do the same of knowing her to protect his own position.Jung-in loves Suk-young, but she knows if she tried to explain her reasoning to him, he wouldn’t want to let her go. This would only make their relationship more painful and difficult. So, she makes the difficult decision to leave him as a selfless act-so he can live the fulfilling life he deserves, without the constant danger and societal rejection that being with her would bring. In a time of political unrest, it was simply too dangerous for them to be together.

The two main characters are such talented actors they really helped carried the story otherwise it wouldn’t of been impactful they deserve all the credit they get
What a rollercoaster of emotions. This movie was at times funny, romantic, sad but over all realistic and a reminder for how fast things can take an unexpected turn in life. That´s why I wish for everyone reading this to live life to it’s fullest, for that you don’t have any regrets. Enjoy every moment and don’t take anything for granted.

This movie made be wanna go back to when I was young. I loved how the protagonist was a simple common man not some one like in fantasies but still he portrayed his part so genuinely and beautifully. I am still in awe. Happy that I got to watch this movie, sad that it didn't end the way i wanted.
Those leaves drew him to her, and the same kind of tree brought him back. He was just too late, though. Great movie, and I loved the ending. Not cliché at all 😊

outstanding story and their way of action made it tremendous.
I just fell in love with the innocence of that beautiful lady, really. when that fool man loose her hand in front of the school to meet with his friend or to do something, i was really worried because she don't know much about city life and maybe she doesn't have money and other things to survive if anything happen and yeah it really happened and then finally when they get together again that fool loose her hand again and that time i was thinking that lady faced something really horrible in prison and that's why she's not feeling comfortable with him which is why she's gonna runaway from him and she really did.
such a romantic and heartbreaking story it was at the same time. If someone loves you with all they have don't loose their hand in any situation. just love them back, that's what they expect in return.
I don't think the world fool is the right one to describe him, he was young and was just learning how to love, he was scared and he made mistakes, not cause he didn't care but because he didn't think it through, moved by this new feeling and the excitement that it brought to his life that now threatened it. That's the whole plot of this movie, being young and making stupid innocent mistakes out of love

Young Men might doesn’t know how to pet their women but they absolutely know how to save them from the storm. If a men doesn’t offer you seat, last bite of food, walk carefully when you’re around he doesn’t loves you trust me.
I can still remember I have travelled almost 150KM to provide safety and make sure she return her home untouched back in 2016 as i can remember. I was under 20 that time and still I was responsible for the one that I loved.
She travelled to my city to give me surprise and yeah I was really surprised because it was not a good idea to travel that long alone for a woman in my country.

I feel like he knew she was gonna leave him and just hoped she wouldn't, with that he let go of the hand and then looked back at her, without thinking, just doing what he was told to. @yoshi_ko7680 my only opinion on that “I didn’t really like the male character of that story. He destroyed the life of that innocent lady. If he was not capable enough to take responsibility of her then why did he bring her from the village to city. She was doing really fine over there in the village.
He maybe did mistake at first but why did not he learn from it? Why did he loose her hand again? You maybe don’t know, we man have to stay fit physically to provide safety for our woman whenever they need. Naturally woman can not think faster and critically about life so we man have to do it to safeguard our woman. Most of the woman choose bit a older man as their partner, why? Because that older one have more life lesson than her which will help her in so many situations.
Islam told us to study about the place enough to avoid any kind of risk that we are going to take our woman to.
In the end, we man must have to safeguard our woman otherwise we are not doing our duty properly.

I'll forever hate traditional movies from the past. Not one I've watched had happy ending its always too sad and realistic. I watch these movies wit the intention of escaping reality but end up getting drowned more deep into smth far more worser than reality

She left Suk-young out of love and to protect him. Given the political unrest in Korea at the time and her background as the daughter of a suspected communist, staying together would have jeopardized his future, career, and safety. She knew their relationship wouldn’t be accepted by society, especially with Suk-young’s influential father distancing himself from her and trying to get his son to do the same thing so he didn’t get charged which she had to do cause he couldn’t. To spare him from danger and rejection, she made the painful, selfless decision to leave, knowing he wouldn’t let her go if she tried to explain which would of made things more complicated and mind you he was literally faced with being charged as a North Korean spy if she said he knew to so continuing dating her would of made the situation worse
