I wish to nkow if we first look sigma v before sigma d plan, because for the molecule PF5 there's 3C2 axes but there's no sigma d plane , and I the molecule of ethane there's 3C2 axes but there is only sigma v planes. I'm confused about that, please I need a help
Hi Rodrigue. sigma d is bisects the angle between a pair of rotational axis C2. So the plane between 2 c2 axis and at the same time bisect the 60 degree angle is known as sigma d
@@noorshidamohdali my prof said that to know how many operations is by multiplying n to 4. Which 6x4 is 24. Thats also why I’m confused as to what are the other operations that I didn’t find. But your vid really helping alot
@@nahh9241 yes we can do that to reconfirm the total of symmetry operations. Now I know why 24: These are what I listed 1 sigma h 3 sigma v 3 sigma d E=C1 i=S2 S3 S6 7C2 C3 C6 These are the rest: we count C3 as 2C3 which include anticlockwise rotation. so same as S3 as 2S3 we count C6 as 2C6 which include anticlockwise rotation. so same as S6 as 2S6 Actually these relate to the matrix Hope it helps
I am going to be Pro in group theory...this is all bcz of you ma'am....thanks you for the bottom of my heart.....
I like your spirit. 👍
you are very smart. you teach with good understanding
Mam don't stop uploading video please please please please because it was very helpful
Thanks Rithika. Hope it helps you
Thank you so much
You're welcome. Hope it helps you
very good explainationn
Thank you
Love u 😍💕💕💯
Thank you ma'am

super and understand thank you teacher garu
You're welcome. Hope it helps
Please explain john tellarr effect.....
Jahn teller effect in? Thank you for the suggestion. Hopefully I'll try my best in the next video
Thanks for explanation, but I have a question, why the sigma d passe between two opposite vertex , why not between two opposite sides
Coz the other one is sigma v
Mam can u tell in bh3

Thank you, for explanation nkow I'm understanding, it's so claire now, thanks.
They haven't taught me about diagonal plane and S1 , S2 , S3 sort of things those were new
There is nothing like S1,S1 is actually a sigma plane, also S2= inversion,,yes there are S3 and S6, but no S1 or S2 (they dont exist)
Isn't the benzene has 24 symmetry operation? sorry, I'm a little bit confused
Can you pls give me the list of 24 symmetry operations then I will compare with mine which is less than 24
