Fiennes book on Scott is the definitive book. Gripping, deeply moving and forensically researched. Scott rules!

This guy eats nails for breakfast! After researching his personal history, I was truly amazed at his accomplishments and his courage! Toughest man alive in my books! If you're looking for a role model, look no further!

So, what about the Norwegian strategy to use dogs, dogs, dogs? Seemed to work well for them.

This was very hard to follow due to the editing. Feinnes is a great explorer and as tough as they come. I still believe Scott was flawed in many ways but who am I to judge.

I guess all those frozen carcases on the Everest are heroes too, if dying for the dumbest possible reasons is a valid criterium.

George Mallory. Yes, he's regarded as a hero.

      That’s a logical fallacy Markus.

No, a logical fallacy would be to bring a skiing specialist with the crew and forgetting to use him, or take horses with you instead of dogs. Just another instance of Brits being gluttons for punishment, trying to master nature.
