Thank you for this video, I would love to put my over 30 years of experience in these religious misunderstandings, into the ability to prevent them and talk to some members of this church. Eves actions also in Hebrew were not why god condemned people, but because Adam was not responsible, and when asked why he ate the apple, replied to god that “the women you gave me provided the Apple”. Adam lacked the most critical attribute of a man, the ability to be responsible enough to admit his wrongs, to grow from mistakes and be truthful. This is from the origin text, before mistranslations came to be that were convenient for countries and political parties to use as a control mechanism. In addition Eve choosing the fruit chose understanding of the world, a better opportunity to know her creator and more over infinite leisure which is nice but not a true existence. Eve chose existence for us and so when God gave her to Adam he gave him a compass and companion to endure true reality. This church should be spoken to properly, I am not religious, in the Torah it is not necessary for gods love. Only how you treat others matters, and who you are! Work in these things to go to heaven and if there is no heaven, do these things still because it feels right to be good.

You should not get your hope high. Even though Kishida may submit a request of "Article 81 Dissolution Order" to the court, the church can still defend themselves in the court. And the word "dissolution" of this order is misleading in that it merely removes the church's privilege of tax exemption, they can still operate in Japan and collect donations after being "dissolved".

People who wish to control others always have to deal in guilt and shame; usually unearned guilt and shame.
Those who advocate "original sin" ideas are not limited to the religious, although at root all of them are "mystics".
The "God" they demand subservience to just changes: Christ, the environment, your "brother", "science", and so on.
People who are after power seize upon altruistic doctrines because of what it helps them accomplish, not because they actually believe.
Still, I'm not sure what's worse. The power-lusting non-believer, or the "I need to be led" believer who empowers them.

What a wild situation. If someone told me yesterday that Japan has a serious religious organization that deeply questions their national pride and identity and actively works on subverting them, and not only that, it's also supported by many politicians, including late Shinzo Abe I'd tell them to piss off.
In my corner of the world we simply just give the church upwards of 150 million Euros (compared to Japan we are a pretty poor country) per year and in turn let them infiltrate and influence our politics, education, police and army.
Go figure, it's almost like this is a universal cultural phenomenon. That being that various swines and opportunists will abuse any kind of personal belief, problem or vulnerability that people have to turn a profit or to consolidate power.

this is surprising Meshida-san, I watch other Japanese youtubers about religion history in Japan, and realized that both Shintoism and Buddhism have caused a lot of damage to Japanese society during Sengoku era and world war era, and now surprisingly there are many Japanese who are still believe strongly to Christianity after all that, and even worse top rank politicians also take part in it....this shows that Koreans are not weak, if you (Japanese) are not turning into fans of their idols, then they'll turn you into a unification believers

The reason why Japan was able to penetration Korea from the 1890s to 1910 was because it was still suffering from the damage of the Japanese invasions in 1592. The prince regent of Korea, the Taewaggun, used all the money from the treasury that could have modernized Korea in 1885, was used instead to rebuild the Joseon grand palace in Seoul, the same grand palace that was burned down during the Japanese invasion of 1592.

I mean… I guess it depends on context. At the time the line between Christian/Catholic is blurred. A lot of people lump the two together but there are a lot of key differences. The big one is Catholicism tends to rely a lot on idols such as the image of Jesus Christ. “Pray to this image and you are saved” Where as with Christianity it’s not about the image of Jesus but why he died and what it means for your heart. A Christain’s heart should be one that genuinely wishes to serve the people around them, yeah, it’s an ideal because we as people don’t like to willingly serve but that’s what the Christian belief actually should be. The Catholic side of things it’s more like, if you serve and do this much then you get this much as a reward in heaven. But… that’s just not what Christ asks of us. It’s not about what we can get but rather what we can give.
Anyway, to expound on that. Here’s where the Catholic idol of the image of Christ comes into play. Because the Shogunate had those plates that they would have Japanese Christains step on to renounce their faith. The thing is, that plate has the image of Christ… but it’s not Christ. Living as a Christian doesn’t mean going through the rituals or anything it’s where you invest your love. However, I think the missionaries of the day kinda screwed up getting that across due to language barrier issues.
Anyway, I do agree with you. Spain, England, and France would have used Christianity as an excuse for conquest as they always have. It’s unfortunate that Christian beliefs have been used for horrible atrocities but such is history. However, the other side of the issue here isn’t so clean either. The Shogunate would hold out very brutal executions on anyone who would call themselves Christian. They knew they couldn’t out right kill these people so they torchered them until they renounced their faith weather it was blending them out, removing fingers, or crucifying them. Political power corrupts. Doesn’t matter who it is. Because low and behold. Once Japan wrapped up their internal battles they decided to go on their own conquest. But this time in the name of their religion and god the emperor (really the shogun but the emperor is who the people looked to) Hence why the founding fathers in the United States pushed for separating of Church and State. That’s my thoughts on that.

I remember reading a book years ago called In A Sunburnt Country written by Bill Bryson. In one chapter, he tells of his time in the Australian bush country. He talked about an area that was owned by a doomsday cult. It was alleged that the area was a testing ground for a weapon of mass destruction. Some thought it was nuclear weapon. But there was evidence of any radiation in the area. It was also alleged that the Sarin gas attack in Tokyo was the same people who had detonated the weapon in Australia.
    Shinzo Abe will be missed.

@@-shikajin-4078 your question and convlusion may follow if truth is relative, but it is not. Justin is pointing out the internal consistency of this churches worldview in inconsistent. We know this by internal critique and from the knowledge we have derived from scripture which is that all things true are consistent. If author a writes a book and interpreter b comes and declares “in this book the koreans are the best!” When the book makes no mention of korea being the best, this is inconsistent and misses the whole purpose of the scriptures which are consistent within themselves as the word of God.
Everyone has a standard for truth, and it may not be fun, but you must self examine your standards for truth. Are they subjective? Do they hold under scrutiny? Did you fall into the logical fallacy recently of believing whatever governmental health departments declared as truth because you assumed them as your standard?
Christ is the way the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.

Is it possible for the state to take away the Unification Church's status as a religious corporation? Because the way members are segregated in Japanese and non-Japanese and extorted sounds more like a vicious sect or a mafia.

Its kind of scary how the church controls the minds of their members. They are justifying now that they donations got lower and some voluntary. If the assassination didnt happen maybe this wouldnt bring light to the world. It's a high controlled group. They ruin the member's minds coz I have a special friend who is in that cult and I somehow experienced it myself.
