Hi. Looks like there are two big shift solenoids? Looked like you put one new one ? Ours is actually the opposite starts out in 3rd gear. So it skips 1-2. Only time it will use 1-2 is when it’s in 4low We have po700 and po770. 2005 dodge Dakota
How did you know it was the solenoid I have an older version of 1998 just around body and I’m getting a code P1762 and it’s telling me it could be the solenoid or the band overdrive the by chance now what do I need to do because I’ve called parts stores they don’t know what it is. Is it a easy fix or is the band broke or something? It won’t go in reverse, but I’ve been driving every day and never gave us sign, all did a code on the transmission P1762 manufacture code that’s all it says I put that code and it tells me it could be a solenoid or the overdrive band

For clarification, the two plugs that need to be disconnected, do you disconnect them after removing the valve body? I assume its in there so you would need to pull everything out and then disconnect, or am I completely wrong lol.
@@jahhdenn1430 as for the fluid amount, I don't remember. I believe I put 5 in and let it cycle for a few minutes before adding a few more quarts until the dip stick read full. And all the electrical plugs are on the outside of the trans and get unplugged before dropping the valve body.

Just some fine sand paper.
