Watching a person teach about something they are passionate about is an absolute pleasure. The light in her eyes as she patiently imparts her knowledge is something that would prompt me to develop a desire to learn. That I feel, is the true art of teaching.
...Amen, Lillian...
Wow! Are you a teacher?
Exactly so, Lilian - there are no training aspects in the art of connexion with one's students - it is either innate, or absent.. :)
Yeap
amazing
Wait! She’s demonstrating by writing upside down…and it is still so beautiful!
Unbelievable how she can writing upside down to explain it. Very nice tips. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for your feedback! 🙏
Possibly the most educational video on TH-cam. I love it
Thanks a lot!

For sure the best handwriting tutorial I've seen on youtube.!
Thorough, straight to the point and so easy to understand.
Not a lot of boring talk of people trying to convince you, you just have to practice, yet not showing what to practice.
People who have really mastered a subject after years and years of practice have refined it to a thing that is as simple as possible.
Oh my god.I changed my pen hold to this and it is so comfortable. I feel like i could write for the whole day and I write nicer too.
Thank you Mrs. Barbara Nichol.
I feel writing letters is one of the best exercise for this
I've been trying to improve my handwriting for a while now and just the tip on how to do properly hold the pen showed instant improvement.
I always strive to improve my cursive handwriting as it is becoming more of a lost art… this video has helped tremendously! She is quite passionate about penmanship and has so much wisdom to impart. Thank you for this!
Simply brilliant. I love fountain pens but can't write with them. Was about to go back to pencil and gel pens and continue with markings that even I cannot read. What a wonderful instructor. The history and understanding she shares is an enormous help to me. The exercises are fantastic. Stumbled on this and hope to find more. I realize I'm years late to the comments, but THANK YOU !!!
Thank you for your great feedback! That makes us happy!
Of all the methods I have encountered to polish my penmanship, Barbara Nichol's is by far my favourite!
i love the passion they have for a good purpose. Solute to all the hard working people
A graceful lady, gifted with a beautiful handwriting, there is no doubt she have a heart of gold, and a soul of pure light.
Yes, so it is! 🙏
5:23 Things got real when u realize shes actually writing upside down to show him....
easy
As a teacher, I do that for my students. It's a skill you acquire quite quickly, assuming you practice every day, several times a day ;)
@@nicojar with a fountain pen?
That was a pleasant viewing experience. The passion Ms. Nichol has for her area of expertise is more than evident in this short video.

God, yours video really opened my eyes! I've been practicing my writing for almost a year now with some improvement, but after watching this and seeing the reason behind everything and how to make it look great, it completely renewed my determination to make my hand writing better. Thank you so much!
What a pleasure to watch! What an amazing woman with deep knowledge - so informative and helpful! and especially beautiful!
Oh wow, I would like her to be my penmanship teacher… her voice is so calming to the near and I like how she teaches!
Bless this woman.
And this is how was taught. It such a perfect way to write.
This woman is an inspiration.
"Writing is a feeling" ❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your technique!
Concise, brief and to the point.
Beautiful.
Thank you! 💛
Absolutely beautiful!
Superb!
I really like how she was teaching italic cursive (the style I was taught) it is still connected but not as illegible as modern cursive is.
I like the Geiger counter in background noise.
Damn, I’m 8 years late to the party because this is great 😂
just dumbfounded the moment she wrote those letters on the menu card...WOW!!!
so beautiful!
call me crazy, there were tears of joy as i watch her write
Thank you very much for your compliment! 💕
Wooow superb good hand writing i just subscribed to your channel its amazing 😍😍😍
I wish I had a teacher like her
Love it ❤
Amo essas letras ,ainda vou conhecer essa Mestra
There may yet be hope for my handwriting!
Great video! I'd recommend using and external mic if you're going to have that camera/lens on auto-focus though. It's a noisy one.
Amazing!
It's such a beauty of penmanship, unfortunately its dying and considered unessential. I would definitely teach my kid the art of cursive.
The universal line of beauty shure looks like an integral
Interesting history lessons.
She so amazing. Writing upside down
This was amazing and now I want to attend to some calligraphy classes. Where can I get those sheets? They look perfect!
Exquisite
everything about this video is a Beauty
Hi, is there more such videos?
Not so long but a short example: th-cam.com/video/sXsc-wzhFNQ/w-d-xo.html
Just Wow!!
I thought I was crazy because I've always had this weird obsession with the way my handwriting looked. I have a even crazier obsession with pens and writing/practicing my name. I'm glad to find out that I don't need to go to a locked unit. 😂
I think you are not alone with this obsession, and few others will also exactly know what you mean.
Wish i could see the paper :/
At minute 4:12 is mentioned a book.
Please, tell me what book is.
Thank you.

Does anyone know what sort of paper she's using? I've never seen that type of ruling. French ruled paper just doesn't work for me.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn
this is awesome!
I know you enjoy the life!. .... +10!.
I wanna take a lesson from her, she only teaches in Australia?
Just 23 uppercase letters in early Rome. No 'J,' 'U' or 'W.' Thjey were ntroduced later.
Wow!!!! Is she Australian?? I can't even tell if she had an accent because I'm Australian too 😂
She is Australian!
Bogan is not the national accent its only a dialect and anglo australian is much clearer than other dialects in australia.
anyone can tell me what are those 2 fonts they used in the video?
Anybody happen to know what kind of fountain pens they are using?

Is the feeling and the passion. Is not for everybody. Let’s face it. I’m 65 and practice every day….
The toughest thing is to make the top of the pen point toward the right shoulder
OMG, I clearly remember in primary school, struggling with writing a line of cursive connected "i"s. Of course, iiiiiiiiii in cursive is the same flowing u that Barbara showed. I had to stay late to finish when all the other kids got to go to lunch.
My writing is still atrocious.
Most of the time only faces are focused. Please give us a chance to see the work.
Thanks

MY Pen just never seems to run so fine.
Very very very very very nice madam
Thanks a lot! Best regards from Germany!
Camera angle sucks i cant see it properly
As a lefty my writing needs the help of a saint and not a doctor
😂 practice, practice, practice...
I am 80% deaf. I wish it has closed caption.
Seems like great information - too bad I can't hear what she is being said because of the loud music over top of her fantastic speaking voice. What a shame. Please consider making another video of the same without the piano music. It's beautiful, but, you'd never hear loud piano music playing over top of a lecture at college - why not give yourself the same opportunity to be heard? Thanks for trying, though!
I consider, O' offspring of Winston Graham, that your hearing is either defective - tonal rendition would be my guess. The human voice speaking normally, (nominally) resonates at approximately 50Hz (50 cycles/second) - Ms Nichol's timbre was to the lower end of mid-range (deeper), & by contrast, the piano was playing about half an octave above that; if you cannot distinguish between the two, then I suggest you make an appointment with your GP, who should refer you to an Audiologist; clearly, there is an issue that may require attention :)
Man, this case of r/iamverysmart is subtle
This lady says writing is to do with the finger, spencerians say it's to do with the arm and hand
FatPanda spencerian is adaption but not necessarily suited for big hand sizes.
Cameraman: Show the pad!!!!
years of using keyboard ruin my handwriting skill :(
Great video and great instruction. Why the music though? Talking over music is distracting and just not needed. Thank you.
The title of this video just sounds so trustworthy
Can't see anything, next time try to place the camera on top instead
not a good camera angle
I cant believe they didnt show her technique! We cant see how she forms the letters. I'm so disappointed.
Doesn’t help me a bit
WTF??? Could be great advice, but why not SHOW US what she is doing. No use watching alady telling someone and not showing the right way up what she is doing.
Psh, she's not that great
