    Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial - I am a ice figure skater who like everyone else, is trying out inlines while the rinks are closed. I can get all my single jumps on inlines, but I haven't been able to even do a single two foot spin, even though I'm skilled on the ice. Thank you!!

    Thank you so much for this! I will try it as soon as it stops raining ':D
    I found two-foot spins relatively easy on ice but absolutely could not manage on my snow whites and always stopped after 1 1/2 rotations :/ I kind of have a feeling that my fear of falling on the concrete is holding me back.. Maybe doing the 1/4 and 1/2 rotations can help with that :)
    Personally, I actually also found spotting (like in dance) helpful when I first started doing spins on ice. Of course, as you rotate faster, spotting is not really the best idea, but in the beginning when you're on 1-3 rotations, I think it's helpful :) Also, not looking at the ground in general can help with your alignment. When your watching your feet it's easy to get into a bad habit of bending forward.

    I have a question;
    I'm 14 and I kinda started inline skating a few months ago.
    Do you think it's too late for me to learn this kind of stuff (since I didn't do it from a young age) or will I eventually learn it?
    Sorry if it's a stupid question!

    • @teddyfeld
      @teddyfeld 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can definitely still do it! I started at 17 with no lessons or even a decently paved place to practice. But if you really love it, you will absolutely succeed! Been skating for 3 years now and I can already do quite a few jumps, spins and footwork :)
      Keep it up, it's great fun and such a cool sport :)

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you need to get used to being on your heel and toe at the same time... If you don't have a toe stop, try doing a forward glide while being on your heel and toe all that you can get accustomed to being upright in that position

    Thank you for sharing this beautiful and inspiring video. I would like to ask, do you have any suggestions regarding at what age is a beginner probably too unsafe (due to injury risk, recovery time and being able to safely handle repeated falls on concrete without any serious injuries or bruising)? I invite any educated or experienced skaters to please help me with this one.... I am 35 years old. Love online skating as a preteen but basic stuff. I’m very interested and taking up in-line skating again however, I have noticed that my old knees and joints are much less forgiving even though I wear protective gear. Is 35 too old to safely learn tricks and sustain falls without doing permanent injuries? I am an avid sports and fitness enthusiast but, Covid has made it a bit hard to maintain a routine that’s not boring for working out… I wanted to try to add learning to rollerblade better and do some online skating tricks however, I do not want to injure my knees any further permanently more than I already have. Does any persons with personal or experiential knowledge about sports fitness and injuries have any input? I’d love to hear those who have any opinions or input on this question. Or anyone with advice? I’m a young and fit 35...however, I’d like keep it that way. I also already have knees that are pretty shot from running . Is taking up roller blading again not a good idea? Or is there any ways that can reduce likelihood of injury risk? I’d love input. Thanks!

    • @AfrikanHairGod
      @AfrikanHairGod  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can spin while moving forwards but you wouldn't do it like this. This technique is more of a centered spin. When I rotate like this while moving... I'm doing something similar to back to back 3 turns on both feet at the same time. It's hard to explain but I use my momentum as I pivot back and forth on both the ball of my feet and the heel. You would have to see it in action to get the full feel of it...

      Veronica Cavallini it might be the distance between your skates. You want to try to maintain about shoulder width between your skates as you are spinning. If it's too wide or too narrow you will naturally fall out of the spin because of friction and resistance
