After watching this video, I noticed how shiny Bunny's coat is, especially in the sunshine. So I looked up "shiny coated horses" and came up with the following information about the Akhal-Teke, a breed found in Turkey. The hair structure of Akhal-Tekes is quite fine and rather unusual. Their “glow” is caused by the smallness, or even absence, of the opaque core that is typically at the center of the hair shaft. The transparent part of the hair, or medulla, takes up the extra space and acts much like a fiber optic tube, bending light through one side of the hair and refracting it out the other side. You may find it exciting to do a DNA test on Bunny. It would be interesting to find out what kind of horse she is. You may have just rescued a very valuable horse (although, ALL horses are valuable to me) Post your findings if you decide to test here. I would love to know!
He’s beautiful and spunky! So glad that humans were there to help Bunny and foal out. Thank you for sharing.
Our pleasure!

I found this very interesting to learn about that breed. As I did not know that detail.
Bunny is a regular AQHA. Her pedigree goes back a far ways
Maybe a bigger, or more dignified name for Bunny might be "Jessica Rabbit"
Cute
