Mick, a friend of mine passed on your youtube link tonight and said that it was brilliant. I listened and had to agree. I've passed the url on to my facebook and mail list pages. Absolutely wonderful, thank you
I am a lyrist poet writing of human nature and I am good but man this I pure Irish poetry in a pure form bless you like me you hold true as a story teller
In case anyone doesn't know this about Mick Blake: Apart from being a pure genius at songwriting and performing said songs (not to mention a genius at making videos) he is a member of the Moylurg Ceili Band from Co Roscommon - current All Ireland champions!! Makes you sick! Don't ever stop Mick!
I just learned of you from a friend today Mick and have watched all three of your videos. Such poignant and hearfelt lyrics have touched me deeply. To say that I am in awe of your writing talent would be an understatement. Thank you for such lovely recordings, I am looking forward to hearing more from you.
the best new song that I have heard in years------------the words of the song on the screen allowed me to enjoy your history repeats itself lesson !!!!
hi mick ,i have watched your video countless times and every word is true,i don't think anyone could say any different, it is such a pity it is not on the TV or somewhere that more people could see it or even know about it,and best of all in Mr Kenny could see it and have the balls to try and change his priorities, fair play to you Mick
hi Mick heard your excellent work for the first time in Letrim village on Sunday night listened to your Letrim {a brief history} again hope it will do well for you .It should be our new National Anthem
So there I was sitting in the waiting room at the shannonside radio station when Charlie mcGettigan put on this track...It totally stopped me in my tracks.. I was blown away...lyrically is great
Mick, what a fantastic song and video ,wish you every success with it ,great connection between history and present day , like how you snuck 'lovely leitrim ' in.Well written lyrics to a fine tune ,expect to hear a lot more of this song.Hope you have more in the pipeline.
Powerful! A true bard. Thanks for posting the lyrics on the images; usually doesn't work, but definitely adds power to the lyrics and images while listening to the song. Carry on ...
Just off the phone, was speaking with my dad, Jack, who met you today. Great music!! Will show your videos to him when he comes to stay with us, he'll be arriving tomorrow. Best wishes, Jenny & family
Hi Kevin - glad you liked the songs - I agree with you on the loose regulation, but I was referring specifically to his predictions on the property bubble, the houses of clay on foundations of sand. He got that spot on as far back as 2003 - cut and paste this into the youtube address bar - Prime Time - 20031016 - P 2/2 all the best, Mick

Congratulations. I like your songs very much though it's a sad story. I like the accordion line too. Regards from Spain...
mick I live in endas heartland I'm a product of emigration myself home in Ireland 20yrs.Seen all I need to see of the "soldiers of destiny"here & in england under Frau thatcher.Love your music& songs, they should be sung instead of hymns in schools here & abroad.Never since I read carry it on -Pete Seeger's book have I seen the truth exposed as in your writing.I'm fussy too!lol!
Hello Mick Loved the song and video, touchingly sung well written and beautifully constructed. It really hit the spot on every level. Shared on facebook - hoping you go viral (in the nicest way). Keep it up fella! PS. Please create an album for me at your earliest convenience I'm deleting a space on my iPod for you :)
Bravo Mick !!! Funny comment below is similar to mine , I'm looking for Roots in Leitrim last name is Coogan, my grand mother was Sarah, moved to United States any takers
hi from a new fan going to watch rest of songs over next few days a friend posted on my facebook page where I posted this link the new Christy Moore and I agree.
Plumpbuckmulligan - sorry for some reason I cannot reply directly. Capt. Fitzpatrick and corporal Drumm were Sean Fitzpatrick and David Drumm - CEO and deputy CEO of Anglo Irish Bank. They presided over a a very dark and shady period in Irish banking with most suggesting they were quite simply bent and crooked. Sean Fitzpatrick stood trial and has been acquitted ( to massive astonishment). Drumm as I write this (9.45pm 13th March 2016) is preparing his bag to board an overnight flight from Boston to Dublin arriving tomorrow morning. He has evaded arrest and sought refuge in Boston a few years ago but eventually could not avoid extradition. He arrives in the morning and many hope he will pay the price. I however think not - it's a bent banana republic that looks after its own here I am afraid.
Love the song , Hoever the bit about Shane Ross and David Mcwilliams being dissenters to loose regulation and the crisis is wrong. McWilliams debated Joe Higgins In 2006 and said basically that there would be no crisis because of the thriving Indian and Chinese Economies at the time . Its available online , can't post it , just search for Redhead vs the reds , David Mcwilliams Excellent song though , love your stuff !!!
Fair enough Mick. Still don't like them two, im a big lefty but then again when i write an epic song like you did i guess i can put in who i want lol :) Keep it up lad.
I heard that I like all your songs very truthful keep writing them it's a pity that more irish people did not listen to your songs before they voted most do not know irish history .. only the history of there own little world .
I hope to find other goodies from Mick Blake,,, Ireland must escape EU's incoherent language, Iceland has succeeded, Greece will drag them all down. This is a wonderful video, so WHY did Ireland name a county after this clown, Leitrim?

+plumpbuckmulligan
There are court proceedings taking place concerning them at the moment.

+Finlay Harden You never could spell that one, Finlay.
I hope to find other goodies from Mick Blake,,, Ireland must escape EU's incoherent language, Iceland has succeeded, Greece will drag them all down. This is a wonderful video, so WHY did Ireland name a county after this clown, Leitrim?
I don't like the implication from the map in the video that North Leitrim doesn't exist
I think people will be having parties in the street's when Bertie dies!. There will be as much taught of him as Tatcher.
ar feabhas!
