@@woodrunner51 i mean, as i said before, they're principles. They're not supposed to be practical, but to make it's functionality a little more intuitive and visible. The first one is a mechanism that keeps a plane at its fixed Y position, the second one must be the one you're referring to as the planetary gear, but thats not the case. That's a simple transmission that uses 2 stationary gears, and it diverges a rotational force into more axis.
I really like the one at 0:53, reminds me of some systems used in animatronics for themeparks but instead of having it on the outside here it's on the inside over multiple rotations
_How_ are some of these mechanisms invented to work as perfectly as here, like the straight-translation lever assemblies, especially the very first one?? Is there a purpose to them also?

Watching these has given me an idea: A large fidget toy that uses these mechanical principles so that any fidgeting (switches, buttons, cranks, etc) is used to spin a turbine that turns it into a powerbank.
@Syrath Douglas well, in this case, all it would take is a simple reel or something else connected to three magnets and a solenoid... But, I mean, we can then attach all of the other stuff to it. It wouldn't serve any purpose, but would be probably cool to watch...

Assuming it's a pump, I feel like the arrows at 3:14 should be reversed
I came to make the same comment after playing it back a few times to work it out in my head lol
I had the same idea
right? I had the same feeling
Perhaps the video is in reverse. Or has been mirrored flips.
Thank you for the inspiration. Makes me think of all the processes that can be run by mechanics alone.
These are so great. I would love to try them in real life. Does anyone know how to get the CAD or STL file for these?
since they're principles, it shouldn't be too hard. I used to make some of them to practicr my autodesk inventor knowledge back then.
also, if you have any doubts about any of these, feel free to ask me :)
they are sometimes a bit unpractical....i think the first one is just a unefficient planetary gearbox. I could be wrong tho

Some of these I can see the point to but others just seem to be complex ways of doing simple things.
tbf, it's Mechanical principles part 14. What do you expect?

Hi,
Your work is fasinating to watch. Could a timeline be added in the description with the name of each mechanism please?

please tell us what you use to make these, i like to mess around with mechanical stuff as you appear to but don't have the means to.

probably autodes inventor or solidworks , perhaps even fusion360 but i doubt it
