hey I got three tickets for disneyland with genie plus on my app. Should the other two people download the app also?
@@demiancordova4822 Not necessarily. You will just need to be the one to scan all the tickets. If the others want access to their tickets, you could screenshot their ticket and send it to them as it'll work the same :)
Just used for the first time 5 days ago and I strongly recommend. For example, Indiana Jones had a standby line of 60 minutes and we only had to wait 20minutes w ours. Also, it wasn't too handy w Minnie & Mickey's Runaway Railway because there's an additional fee for that ride! Wait times were 120 minutes for that!! We ended up waiting til nearly midnite to ride it when it was pretty empty. 👍

I hate that they charge you 25.-30 bucks a day for genie+ and doesn’t include the big hitter rides that they charge an additional 20.00 a person for. Thats just so greedy and disappointing. Bring back the 10.00 a day fast pass
It's definitely crazy, but over at Universal the Express Pass is 10x the price! I believe that you can have a wonderful time without purchasing Genie Plus anyway :)

This is so stressful. Why do they have to make it so complicated! I having anxiety at 4 am because I don’t know how to use this and I’m afraid they are all going to sell out
If you purchase in the morning day of, you shouldn’t have to worry about it selling out (usually happens later in the day)
I promise once you start using it in the park, you’ll understand ❤️

Problem with genie plus is you can only reserve one ride at a time. And sometimes with the popular rides, the reservation time can be 2-3 hours later (sometimes even longer), hence limiting the number of times you can get use it throughout the day.

What is the grace period for lightning lanes. Back when it was MaxPass your return window was an hour (ex: 10:40-11:40). Is it the same with Lightning Lanes on Genie+?
Yes, your return time is a 1 hour window

Hi! Thanks for watching! When you show up earlier than park opening, you'll be able to scan into the park. You can take some castle photos during this time :) Each land will be roped off and once the park officially opens, the cast members will remove the ropes. If you're waiting there at this time, this is what's called rope drop.

Thank you for the video! I was wondering if an individual Lightning lane that you have to buy affects your ability to schedule a Lightning lane through genie +. For example could I have a lightning lane for big thunder mountain and pay for rise of resistance at the same time.

You can go to the tickets & passes in your app, click link tickets and scan the rest of your party's tickets in there. This way, you'll be able to book Genie Plus reservations for all :)
I don’t get it, I read that you get LL with genie+. Jan. 2024 is that not the case

Genie Plus gives you access to lightning lane attractions. A lot of attractions are part of genie plus. However there are a couple popular attractions that are separate - these are known as individual lightning lanes - I hope that makes sense ?
Great video! We’re going this weekend and trying to figure it all out. We are getting our tickets tomorrow(Wednesday) , can I link them and purchase Genie+ the same day. Our visit will be in Saturday.

As long as you add it early when you scan into the park, you should be good

Honestly it kinda feels like the old paper fast passes that WDW had, just in an app. You go, you get your pass, and it gives you a return time. Once you use it you can get another one.
Definitely! Thankfully we don’t have to go to each ride to get a paper pass anymore :)

If everyone will be using genie plus (ie going on the attractions together) then each person needs to purchase for their ticket - hope that helps!
Hi, We are a party of 5 two adults three children. Can I buy Genie Plus for one person, or do I need to buy it for everyone?

So do they stack? Let’s say it’s noon, and I get a 6pm for haunted mansion, then at 2 I get a 7pm for Indiana Jones. Will I be able to schedule a third without using the first 2 at 4pm?
Yes you can make a new one after your 2 hour window expires
Do you have to link your etickets to the disneyland app? How do you do you do it?
Did you book a package or purchase tickets separately? If you booked a package, your e-tickets will be available about 4 days before your trip and if your trip is linked to your account already, your tickets should automatically link (but definitely double check to make sure they are). If you purchased tickets separately, then you should take the ticket number and link it to your account
What if I have a reservation for something late in the day and that's the first item I booked? Can I book something earlier after booking that ride?
Yes. After two hours pass (after park opening), you'll be able to book another attraction. When you open up the app, look at your tip board. At the top of your tip board it will show you the exact time that you can book your next genie plus reservation
My teenage daughter and I are going next week just the two of us!! 🎉 My husband usually mages all the genie+, Lightning lane though. Do I have to book Lightning lane or genie plus for both of our tickets?
Hi Nicole!Yay to a girls trip!!! Make sure both tickets are linked to your account and when you go and select Genie or LL, you add both of you to the reservation - hope that helps! Have a great time!

You’ll be able to purchase genie plus when you get to the parks :)
What is rope drop????
Great Question! Rope drop is just a term used when getting to the park before it officially opens. You can scan into the park and head towards the area you'd like to visit - there will be a rope there and when the park officially opens, they remove the rope :)

Wait.. I just bought Genie Plus and it doesn’t include like the star wars ride, etc? I have to pay even more to do LL?
Yes, there are a couple rides that unfortunately are not included with your Genie Plus (Rise of the Resistance at DL and Radiator Springs Racers over at DCA)
Question: can I book every 2 hours even if I haven’t went on the prior bookings ride? If I book Indian at 8am for a noon time slot, can I book another ride at 10am and have 2 outstanding rides to ride later?

Yes, absolutely. However, for the first one (let’s say you scan into the park at 7:30am and grab your genie plus for Indy). You can book the next one two hours AFTER park opening - I hope that makes sense
Totally… so if it just happens to be, a person could have 4 book at 4pm and still haven’t used any… if that’s the timing of the returns 😊

Thank you for this informative video. I found genie plus to be confusing, one question I had is that we have Early entry , so do we still need to go to a rope drop location to enter? EE is only available for fantasy land and tomorrow land is that correct?
Hey! I'm glad you found this video helpful :) You'll be able to visit Fantasyland and Tomorrowland for early entry. Once you get into the park, you'll follow the signs for early entry.
Does the rest of party need genie plus if I reserve a time on my genie plus for a group of 6?
You won’t be able to reserve for 6 people unless they have Genie Plus on their tickets 🎟️
I don't plan on getting in the Park until around 2:00 p.m.. If Genie Plus is available and I purchase it and say the one ride I want to make sure I get on isn't until 10:00 p.m., can I reserve that and then two hours later see what else is available and book it and then continue the process? You're able to book either every two hours or right after you scan in for your reserved ride? Thanks.
Unfortunately with Disneyland you have to scan into the park in order to reserve Genie Plus reservations.
If we plan to go into the parks later in the day, but want to still stack our Genie Plus, we will scan into the park and leave right away to get the benefit
But you are correct, you can book a new reservation every two hours
Hi! I am usually a "disney world-er" and I found out that disneyland only uses magic band+. Well, I'm not sure I want to buy the +... especially when I always have regular magic bands. Anyway- my question is, what is the process of scanning into your lightning lane with your phone. Where would I go to do that?
You’ll still be scanning your phone as you would a magic band. I usually screen shot my tickets and save them to my phone so I can easily pull them up!
i am going in 3 days to disneyland! What time would i be able to purchase the genie plus? Like midnight or seven in the moring?
At Disneyland, you won’t be able to purchase Genie Plus until you scan into the park so make sure you get there early to scan in on time :)
Hi there, if I want the photopass do I need to buy the genie plus for my whole family or just me the account holder?
You can buy the photopass on its own OR you can purchase genie plus for yourself and your group can link to your photopass
Can you get a reservation for rise of the resistance if you start at Disney California first?
Yes, you can purchase a Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance when you scan into the park (whether it be DCA or DL)

One question, can we use Genie + more than once for the same attraction? And also, can I buy only for some people and still control all the planing on my account? For example, I would buy it for my children and husband but I’m wouldn’t need it since I’m not s big fan of most rides. But I do all the planing/booking…will I still be able to plan for them even though I don’t have Genie+ for me?
Hi! Thank you for your kind words :) You will only be able to use Genie Plus for each attraction once - so won't be able to double up on your favorites :( As for planning, you can definitely book everything through your account, you just need to select the people who will be going on the attraction. I would be there ready about 30 minutes before park opening. But, technically, the rope will drop right at park opening :)
I should be going to dca in august forn the first time since 2018. Havent used g plus before. The fact that the 4 rides i wana do are all LL is so disgusting of disney. Why am i paying $30 for g plus and then an extra $20 for LL. an extra $50 to ride ONE RIDE.

In your video it says about the photo pass being $78, I am going for the first time in years, so it makes sense to buy Genie plus for 1 member of the party so we get all our photos for the day rather than the photo pass, is this correct?
Hi! Yes, if you won't be using Genie Plus for the attractions, then it is cost effective to purchase it for PhotoPass. However, do consider how long you'll be in the parks and if it makes sense to purchase the PhotoPass for the duration of your stay rather than paying for Genie Plus daily (for example, it would be $78 for your week or $30 + per day for Genie Plus)

Hello, thank you for the video! I know you said with genie plus you can only book a particular ride once per day but I read something on Google that said guests are limited to a maximum of two attractions using genie plus per day. Is this true or can you use genie plus for as many rides as you would like (of course following the 2 hour/once you scan in a ride rule and no repeat rides) Are you still limited to only 2 attractions using genie plus and then standby for the rest? Thank you!
Hey! Great question! You can use genie plus for all the attractions (without repeating)
The limit you’re seeing is to do with Individual Lightning Lanes (the ones you purchase)

The price can fluctuate if your purchasing day of which is what I wanted to show in the video as an advantage of purchasing early :)

So if you had a 9:30am Indiana Jones, and you make your 2nd reservation at say 9:31am, in 2 hours (10am since you booked this 1st one at 8am) are you able to make a 3rd reservation at 10am? Or does the 9:31 am restart the 2 hour clock to 11:30 if your 2nd one is say at 2p.m.?
You are correct, your new Genie Plus Reservation will reset the clock

@@other6724 Each person with Genie Plus can reserve their own rides. So, let's say if four of you want to ride Big Thunder Mountain and the 5th doesn't, then they can select something else. As long as you reserve around the same time, you'll end up with the same booking window :)

I used it In July 18, 2024.....I Don't recommend it. you will be better off just waiting in line. I got in line for thunder mounting waiting for 30 minuets....then when in after that on my Genie plus got on it again...I think it is just a wast of money
Genie Plus is helpful for busier times of day. Early Morning and Late evening, you'll have shorter standby lines. In the morning, I usually start booking Lightning Lane Reservations for the late afternoon/early evening when it's busier
