    Hi Jimm, great video with great voice-over, can't believe you don't have more people commenting on this video. Very professional.

      Thanks for the kind words. After more than a year, I still like my smooth as silk Sirui! Not overtly big!

      @@Filmmaker809 I am primarily stuck at home. It was 0 degrees today and the roads were quite dangerous. Maybe this summer I'll be "creative". In the interim I'll be working on my computer and editing skills. Thanks!

      Sorry to hear that Jim. Yeah, I'm just finishing my 2nd documentary in lockdown here in the UK. Look forward in seeing more of your work!

    very nice overview videos you provide! you give extremely clear rundowns of the equipment that i haven't found elsewhere. nice job. imo the manfrotto 502ah is preferred given that it has adjustable drag on the vertical tilt.

    The video is too dark for showing a product.

    After using this tripod head for a couple years. I like that it's lightweight and smooth. It's also quite compact compared to the competition. The unit has traveled to the West Coast and Mexico. I use it often. For the price I have no complaints.

    When reviewing tripod fluid heads, it would be really beneficial to actually review the performance with different set-ups on top. Just rotating the head around without any gear attached doesn't give any clue how it actually performs. Many people wonder how this product performs when heavier lenses or cameras are attached. I guess this was not the review that answers those questions.

    Thanks for a nice video! I am planning to buy this and use it along with Ronin S . Do you think Ronin's quick release plate will fit VH10x?

    • @JMMGarza
      @JMMGarza  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ronin quick release plate is smaller. I use an a simple adapter. It does fit my smaller $100 Benro tripod, not my much larger $500 version.

    Overall, the head is very solidly made, but it has a few flaws that make it very limitedly useful (especially for video recording).
    Good thing: - pannig is good,
    - compact, but unfortunately we ended up with a good one :(.
    Bad things: - due to the panning system it has become high,
    - the tilt system is useless for serious work (biggest weakness),
    - the brake button prevents tilting.
    If she had the same system of movement as she has for panning, she would be among the better ones - so there is only one more on the table.

      For my modest purposes. It works for both photography and video. Thanks.

    Hi Jesus, thank you for the review. I need video head for birdwatching with big /long scope Swarovski ATX-95, and wonder whether to get the Sirui VH-10x or Manfrotto 500 AH. Sirui has the longer handle, which the Manfrotto doesn’t have - it helps by tiny movements of the scope at long distances when I am tracking the bird with e.g. 100x magnification. But on the other side the Manfrotto has as far as I know, the sping inside or a mechanism, that blocks the gear (e.g. the scope) from tilting down. In VH-10x there is no such a mechanism, so after glancing at birds I always have to block the tilt movement. Is it so?

      I just tried to tilt my camera down and forward. There is a spring that prevents that. It doesn't allow me to to keep the camera in the down position unless you lock it in place. If you buy from a reputable shop (Adorama). You can return it without repercussions. Good luck.

      @@RVTA Hi, thanks a lot for your information! I also someone that has Manfr. 500AH and Scope ATX95. He said the spring is to weak for that scope, one have to fix the knob in order the scope doesn't fall down.
      Yes I plan to order both the VH-10x and 500AH from some online shop and test myself, and then return one of them. Best wishes!

    Hello.
    I wanted to know what are the differences between the vhd-2004 and vhd-2004L tripods, apart from the length of the column.
    Are they as robust and stable each other?
    Can we remove the column of the 2004L to get a position as low as on the 2004?

    • @RVTA
      @RVTA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't know. Have you looked at the specs in their page?

    • @nandoshinken
      @nandoshinken 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RVTA yes I had it wasn't clear. I send an email and here's the answer : ''The main differences between VHD-2004 and VHD-2004L tripods you may consider are as below:
      1. The Max height for shooting : 2004L- 1.9M / 2004 -1.8M
      2. Different central column:2004L- retracted column / 2004- 2-section column (which you can remove the long part of it to shoot at low angle), so 2004L can shoot at a lower angle than 2004.
      3. One leg of VHD2004 can be unscrewed to be used as a monopod.''

      @@nandoshinken I like my super solid Benro tripod legs. I wish I had bought the more compact carbon fiber model. This tripod is definitely overkill.
