I searched for a good church & each time I found it to be to flawed for me until I figured out the reason it was flawed was me. Go sit among other flawed brothers & sisters & just love each other as brothers & sisters He who started a good work is faithful to complete it (God bless all)

More to do with doctrine. What do they teach? Providing they teach rightly (God says "Test the spirits"), then each brother and sister is on a journey. Some have only started. Others are a good few years down the road. And others have stumbled along the way. They are opportunities to grow in grace, and learn how to help each other as Christ wants us to.

I've had the same problem. Church people aren't friendly. Don't have time. Even pastor looking at his watch. I decided that you don't need a building to worship. I listen and pray about everyday. And have conversations with God. He and Jesus my best friend. Talk to people they talk to me. They sense your kindness. God's love isn't just in any certain spot. Many blessings God's love. Amen

Boring the phrase from JFK - ask not what your church can do for you but what you can do for your church. You are absolutely right - most folks are looking for a religious experience and an hour per week of entertainment. I have pastored a church for the last 15 years that was started from a family that had a son to die at 16. We were able to come along side them for the next couple weeks. And the folks that met with us asked if we could hold bible study there that Sunday. We have 45 people actively involved now. If there is no "church" in your area - look, work, and pray toward starting one. Probably the greatest need in our country today is more Bible teaching (true exposition) congregations.

Back in 1997. I was 37 years old. I wanted to go to church but I knew they were 160 denominations on one book. And everybody thought there's was the right religion. So I prayed and prayed and prayed about 20 minutes later the phone rang. My daughter called me to the phone. A guy said this is so and so from Outreach Of Love assembly-god Church and we sure would like for you to come visit us Sunday. Was it a sign? I was just a coincidence? I'm not saying God is an Assembly of God member. But Sunday I started going to that church. Everything was fine I taught Sunday school. And celebrate recovery. On Saturday nights. I love that church that's how I found a church

Wouldn't meetings with Catholics and different Protestant churches be ecumenism or universalism?

I live in a very remote area. Our church meets in a home. Our backgrounds are Pentecostal, Baptist, Church of Christ, former Catholic, and non-denominational. We follow the Bible. If it weren't for this church, I would have left the job and town long ago.

Mr Pearl..will women that lived on earth be women in heaven???? Debra

Thank you for your question Debra. When scripture says there is neither male nor female, bond or free... it is referring to the face that the same salvation is available for all, not just a particular people group.

THANK YOU!! Your church is the Christian next door. Not the big box next door.
That’s our family’s story. CA said no church we stared having friends and neighbors over. We’ll have a community of 6-7 families coming from different “churches.”

This is where I am finding myself. New area and the churches lean towards works-based salvation although I truly believe a lot of the congregations are saved.

that's ok b/c they may not even know! Lots of folks don't read their bibles very much, or take the time to deeply think and meditate on what they read. Lots of distractions in life, especially for a young family with kids. You might be the hope...and have opportunity to influence and live the example. A lot of people truly DO want to serve Christ...and it sounds like scriptures say they have to do such and such. You have to slowly and gently help them see it from a Grace perspective. Little by little over time, the shackles come off.
