Dicing kits (virtually all of the home kits) only slice and then push the material into the dicing grid and rely on subsequent slices to push the material already in the dicing grid out. You always have to use the cleaning tool to get the last material out of the dicing grid. It's just the way these work. If you accept that and make sure you dice soft items before hard items, you should be fine. As an assurance, use the cleanout tool before doing something delicate like tomatoes or mushrooms. And feel free to cleanout often if you are processing a lot of food and definitely if you dice hard (carrots) or tough skinned items (onions) and then attempt to dice a tomato. Other tips I've heard are to pack the chute full and use the pusher so things don't bounce around; stop the machine between feeds or make sure all the food is clear of the slicing blade before feeding the next veggie -- you want to prevent the veggies from bouncing in the chute; some veggies dice and slice better when stacked upright vs on their side when fed like bell peppers wedges; try to processing items like onions or bell peppers so the tough skin of the veggie does NOT end up flat on to the grid (if this happens, you could use the cleanout tool if necessary to clear the grid). Food processors are great but they still require some prep work to get the best results.
Unfortunately, the person doing this demo is not processing the food carefully, but she is actually better in this video than in her others. Maybe she's just trying to blast through all the features but this is not the way one should process food. She does not stabilize the food in the chute, lets the veggies bounce all over and out of the chute, and when she does use the pusher she only seems to do so if something gets stuck and she tries to crush the food hard into the processing blade. The food should only be guided into the blades never rammed through like you are using a manual machine. Even slicing and shredding which is relatively easier is done with such carelessness she manages to have zucchini and carrots tumble around in (with many jumping out of) the chute while being sliced in other videos. The results speak for themselves. By the time she's done, the work area is littered with food scraps everywhere.
Here's a demo for someone using a Cuisinart Elemental dicing kit properly. He is processing (very soft and juicy) tomatoes followed by cucumbers followed by onions. He's thoughtful in his procedure, stops the machine between processing, and used the pusher to stabilize the food. Personally, I would use Roma tomatoes that are a bit firmer. Hot house tomatoes (tomatoes-on-the-vine) that I've seen are really soft and juicy and even if diced by hand will look like pulp. The B&D MultiPrep should be able to dice equally well.

    everything smooth gets stuck
The cube part, even the onion gets stuck, apparently only vegetables and hard things go through the super sharp blades ... also if things "lie down" they come out complete ...
Why don't they show how it cuts tomato?
