But as ive entered my mid 30s and seeing how the world and society has changed the last 10 years....ive began reading and watching more prepping videos like yours. Your channel was the first one that popped on my feed when I searched prepping and its been very helpful so far. Many thanks and greetings from Texas!

Feels good getting organized, been working on our garage. Unfortunately gets too hot here to store much beyond camp gear. I did set up an old desk as a cleaning station/project table.

Thank you for the great information.😊
Prepping, homesteading, farming - you are never done. I've been on my little farm almost 30 years, and there is always something to repair, stock/restock, etc. This summer I guess my birthday present is a new hay shed roof and a separate chicken coop - so the chickens aren't shitting all over everything in the hay shed in the winter. the chicken coop, with slight modifications, is also big enough for my truck. Always keep in mind how you would use a space for something different if you want to switch things up. A roof that does not leak is a seriously fantastic peace of mind item! With no chickens in there I can now build some shelves, too, for storage items that are taking up room in another shed.
Glad I found your channel. I live in SE Idaho, so it's nice to find someone living in the same state, that is producing content that can relate to location, and lifestyle.
having an underground bunker with access points unknown to others is so important. And if you live in the country you can dig a tunnel leading to an emergency exit point well away from the house.
I have been planning to make some tote storage racks in my garage... But this video just made me rethink that since the rack wouldn't really secure anything where a shelf with a homemade cabinet door would add a layer of security if anyone breaks into the garage... Thanks for the video and helping me get past a bit of complacency I was feeling.
Thats awesome, would love to see what you come up with.. I have definetly enjoyed designing and building my pantry! Thank you and thank you for watching!
Same here. My first thought was garage, but they're easy to break into. Fortunately, our master bedroom has 3 closets, so I turned one into a prep pantry / gun area.
Thank you so much for sharing your setup! You are well organized and should be congratulated. The Minute Man ready to go gear I will copy. I can see you thought it through, even having the handgun at the front just in case. Awsome!
Wish I had space for a room like that lol. One thought: spray the cabinet door with the chalkboard paint to take quick notes, etc. not sure how it works on that wood but with some sanding and primer, should work.
Good start and effort on your preps and plan. Consider a freeze dryer which are priceless for your own home made FD (Freeze dried) products. The family can do it easily. 25 year life, light weight food. Look up freeze dryers at Harvest Right.. Any questions, let me know about the process. A FD will launch your preps into fast forward and food security.
just need to make the bottom of the bench into one faraday cage, to keep your electronics in, and make one for your generator too, I' probably add a small fridge to keep some goodies in while your working in there or just waiting it out, oh and maybe some camera station in their to keep an eye on your yard and surrounds. Just some of thoughts the rest of it looks really good! Cool little man cave. :)
I love your desk/work space. I've never seen a pantry/storage area with one - good thinking! As time goes on, humans have decided to have areas that blend together for functionality instead of separate areas. I mean, put the laundry room and pantry adjacent to the kitchen - that's where the home maker is most of the time, instead of running up and down stairs with laundry baskets for example. Homemakers with a workspace/desk in the kitchen also save time. This summer, I've bought an extra gas stove/oven for our outside shed so I can can outside. I have a small television out there so I can watch something while I keep an eye on the pressure gauge. I'm not heating up the house, the dogs can play outside while I'm canning instead of being stuck in a hot house. I'm baking out there, too, and cooking things like steak or whatever so my house doesn't smell like meat! Also, with the stupidity of the powers that be wanting everything to be electric, I wanted to have another gas appliance for back-up. One of the comments here reminded me that I need a fire extinguisher out there! This is my first visit to your site, and I found you to be knowledgeable - I'll be back (she said like Arnold)
With all due respect from the most seismic country on the planet, where we must all be "prepers" in some way whether we want it or not. Very good job, simple, nothing fancy, just functional. A unsolicited advice? portable flashlights, I particularly liked the one you have inside the weapons cabinet. (what many do here is to have these put in places in the house where you have to circulate in a power outage, then have lite but have your hands free) -Fire extinguishers. in particular in a place built in wood, where so much plastic, paper and ammunition are stored. once again great job an Sorry about my English

Very nice very well thought out. You might want to add some more water And some basic hand tools you never know when you're going to have to pound a nail or turn a wrench. Pray for the best and prepare for the worst.
Here in the UK a gun cabinet has to be a metal lockable safe, with ammo stored in a separate safe. When you apply for a firearms certificate (licence) the police will visit your home and inspect your gun storage. Approved gun locker are expensive. I wish I could build something like yours!
Same rules here, and you have to shoot at a range at least 10 days a year at a designated shooting range. That way they can check if you really used it for sports and you keep familiar with safety rules.
A few sheets of diamond plating inside and outside that cabinet would add layers of defense and add a nice esthetic look. Just use rivets instead of screws to prevent someone from just taking them off to gain access.
That's a good tip, but they would have to get through many others layers of security to even get to this point inside my house first. This is mostly to keep the kids out. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing. One idea for you. On your gun cupboard on the inside you could attach several bars that go into a hole in the side of the cupboard to stop someone just unscrewing the hinges, great video. From Skippy.
Someone with a cordless drill could take off the hinges and remove the door pretty quickly. Hinge screws are typically concealed. It looks like they were installed that way at one point.
Pretty good setup! A few suggestions would be to put any edibles like crackers, ramen, etc. in a lidded tote as these attract rodents all too well! A handgun concealed in a food box or hard-cover book will be much faster to access than weapons loaded in a cabinet or safe! Keep a cooler in you vehicle filled with bottled water as this can be one of the most important things to always have handy, the cooler will help keep the water from getting too hot or too cold, and be fairly easy to carry! The cooler should be large enough to carry enough water for three days for each person that you expect to have with you! One gallon jugs take up less space and are easier to carry in hand if needed!
