Angela Lansbury is now a legend. Is there ANYBODY who doesn't recognize her name? What a consummate professional--an inspiration for any aspiring actress or actor.
God I love Angela Lansbury, such a talented actress. If I had a time machine I think I'd go back and see all of her stage performances she must be thrilling to see live. ^_^
We saw her in the last performance of Blithe Spirit in London a couple of years ago. She was SO DELIGHTFUL! There were many young people in the audience who jumped to their feet at the end of the show, and the whole cast was crying. It was a spectacular evening. I can still see her walking across the stage as Mme. Arcati ...she was SO funny.
I saw her in Blithe Spirit on Broadway (among other shows she was in) and there was this bit with a lunch and the bread went flying (cannot remember if it was from her or someone else) and they all started laughing - staying in character, she ran with it and it was one of those unplanned magical theater moments. She was awesome...
Love you, Angela, you are my forever favorite! Thank you, for your wonderful acting in every movie and Murder she Wrote. You filled my days with comfort and gladness being in your company. :)
I relaxed watching the television series "She Wrote", and saw Angela Lansbury as a lady who exalted the role of the older woman: dynamic, creative and endearing, today when reading a little more of her life, I watch her as a to be special, an example of good sense, a lady who built a career that prevails over time thanks to her discipline and correction, a kind of being illuminated by proverbial grace and simplicity, which invites us to value every decade lived. At almost 94 years old, she is a model of health and experience, with all the right to enjoy the privilege of posterity earned by hand with incredible lucidity and temperance I join those who admire her. Greetings from Barranquilla, Colombia.
When I saw her in Blythe Spirit I was blown away by the simplicity of watching her just sit and listen to the other actors. She was riveting in her simplicty and I couldn't watch anyone else. The best acting lesson ever!
What an elegant, eloquent (& of course, talented) lady Met her once, very, very briefly, backstage - always been a drooling 'fan' - but what a gracious example of how to live one's Autumn Years
I was lucky enough to see the great Angela Lansbury in "Driving Miss Daisy" at The Comedy Theatre, Melbourne last week. Wow, what a show and what an incredible performance by a true theatre great!!! I'm so happy that I finally saw her live, in Australia!
Not bad for an English/Irish girl to make it in USA in all forms of entertainment and still be a classy woman who tells it like it is honestly. May you get to 100 and get birthday greeting from the monarch. Aussie Jen.
Note to interviewer: with such time constraints that you ask Miss Lansbury to sum up Murder She Wrote in two minutes, it might be a good idea to stop interjecting with inane comments and simply let your most eloquent guest speak without interruptions.
I agree 100% with your comment!!! I posted a reminder to interviewer not to interrupt. Maybe she will learn to let the guest say what they want. Posted 7/23.'21.
To the Interviewer who interviewed Angela Lansbury: This interview was/is about Angela Lansbury...NOT about what you think or say. In other words...Just shut up and let the guest speak. They are the people who count. NOT YOU!!! And, learn not to interrupt when the guest is speaking...THEY are the important person because of a long and varied career in front of the cameras where millions have paid money to watch them perform. Angela Lansbury is a ten, (10) in her profession. You are about 1.5 in yours because of your rudeness toward others. And, I say again...Stop interrupting others when they are speaking...It's about them...Not you. Thank you. Posted July 23, 2021.
I knew 8 of the Murder She Wrote crew and they said she was the best person they ever worked for... So caring and kind. I also knew a man who had been her assistant when she did theater in London. The first day she told him that she was "Angie" to him and that she did not expect him to get coffee and tea for her. What a wonderful, down to earth lady she was... ❤
It was interesting to hear her talk about Johnny Depp. My guess is that he was already involved in the ideas for the Sweeney Todd movie which was released in 2007. I saw her in Blithe Spirit a few years ago. So glad he was back on Broadway.
I know that Angela played in the Disney film "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" I would like to see this show done on stage with her reprising her film role. Any Broadway producers reading this?
I saw it in New York in 2019 and it was ruined by the over amplification and distortion! My friend and I have decided we will not see another musical miked like that again! We had seen My Fair Lady in New York and it was perfection...without the amplification!
"She spends too much time trying to impress the subject with her knowledge of her career," I think she does an excellent job. Her excitement is contagious!
God love this fantastic lady she's a wonderful woman and very talented actress, I've seen most of her movies (I'm not fond of The Manchurian Candidate) but she's better in her other movies (Bedknobs And Broomsticks and Harvey Girl's)Her later movie (Mrs.Arris Goes to Paris)was a wonderful movie.but herself on Murder, She Wrote clinched It for me but I never did get to see her on Broadway since I was born a few years too late
Sondheim once said "everyone auditions for me, except Angie." That when you know you've got it.

Same here in Sydney in 2013 . Driving Miss Daisy. Knew it would be my last chance to see her live. She was wonderful !!!
Happy Birthday Angela! R.I.P. Thanks.
93 and still going strong

Linda Winer must've been super happy when Angela returned with Deuce...and Blithe Spirit...AND A Little Night Music! Bet she had the biggest smile :)

SO BEAUTIFUL, RADIANT, FUN....
Angela’s straight face when it was mentioned that her character baked the pies is priceless
I love her so much

She did it all.

Dale Burgess
Mame with Angela Lansbury and Bea Arthur. I wish I'd seen that.
Fred Cooper: Yes!!! Me too...They were great actresses.

Now I want to know what she thought of Avenue Q.
I saw it in New York in 2019 and it was ruined by the over amplification and distortion! My friend and I have decided we will not see another musical miked like that again! We had seen My Fair Lady in New York and it was perfection...without the amplification!
Love love 💘 this lady.
loooooooooooooooove u angie!!!!

I LOVE her sooooo much!!!!!
Ageless true beauty inside and outside
I agree with you!!! Elizabeth Taylor also held dual citizenship and she was made a DBE. Ronald Reagan, who was only a US citizen was made a KBE.
I wonder why they never seem to claim Elizabeth as British, which she was, and Angela and Elizabeth started their American career together. Strange.

The year at the end credits is 2005.
@@alexpoor2452 ....per (above) info....taped 10/28/2004.
fyi- they talk about his death @22:00.
She states that he died 2 years previously.
Una leggenda
I'd like to know what she thought of _Avenue Q_ finally. 18:13
Wait, Microphones ruined Broadway? whatnow?
Exactly tinny sound on stage is what she mentioned and she's right!
