In my opinion Alabama has been the ultimate best band to ever to hit country music. I cannot think of any songs that I don’t enjoy. They left us with so much. God bless you Alabama.
I totally agree. I remember going to see them play in Beeville Texas when they were jus starting out. An I said that Band is really really good. Their going to make it great soon. An they did. God bless them.
First song I ever heard Alabama sing was "The Closer you Get". I was about 12. I'm 53 now, and respect them now more than ever. RIP Jeff. What a legacy!
That's great to hear. If you can, please give my regards to Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry. I have always loved listening to Alabama as they are one of my all time favorite country music band. Please tell Randy and Teddy that John here says hello. Thanks and have a great day. All the best.
Randy and Teddy. Thank you for bringing all the love and music to all us fans for over 50 years and counting and we sure do miss Jeff. You are icons and legends in our hearts forever. I have seen you guys 19 times since the first time in 1981 at a county fair in Iowa. From all your fans. Here's to you, Alabama. ROLL ON! We Love You.❤🎸🙏
I’m a native Alabamian, an Allman Brothers/Grateful Dead/Widespread Panic guy, but I’ve always loved the band Alabama and they’ve been a source of pride for me and many. Their music crossed over so many lines and appealed to so many folks. Thanks Guys!!
Southern Born and Southern Bred. Cannot thank you boys enough for the lifetime of great music and being fine stewards of our way of life. God Bless You!
It seems like it was yesterday that I was 12 years old and listening to Alabama on the radio as they sang this song. Time flys my friends,,, I for one am thankful to Alabama for all great music they brought to my life.
I want to Thank them for their great music and wonderful concerts. They are still America’s Band. I am one of their biggest fans and so are my children. They grew up on their music and are still in awe of them now as adults.
Sounds as good today as it did in the 80s thank you Alabama for all those memories still listening today. Danced our first dance and played many Alabama songs at our wedding love you guys
The last concert i ever saw with my dad, the great grant blumhagen, in salt lake city was none other than alabama. It was with out a doubt the best concertI ever saw.m
@@silvanamodugno4239 They dumped him from the band, because he wanted back pay for his equal part in the band and then they said he was never part of the band that the record company forced them to include him in photos and on record covers so the band would be a foursome.
My then boyfreind and I saw Alabama in 83, I talked him into taking me by telling him Juice Newton was the opening act. He was hooked! 40 years of marriage later, we have seen them 3 times and each time was awesome!
I'm pretty young was born in 98 but Alabama is my all time favourite country band cant be beat in my books! their songs are so pure strong and wholesome at the same time not like how the country music is now it just doesn't feel the same this is real country music for the soul hands down!
I love Alabama music it would have been nice if Mark Herndon was there he was a big part of the band and we sure miss Jeff Cook on the lead guitar and fiddle 🎤🎸🎵🥁
@@shirleywilliams7027 I don't recall all the specifics but I know that the 3 guys from Alabama said they didn't want a fourth person and their record label said they wanted them to have 4 people like the Beetles. Then, he ended up suing them over some dispute about revenue from t-shirt revenue or something. I don't think they ever wanted him in the band and he wasn't family, if I recall correctly.

No mention of Mark Herndon. Alabama’s drummer for like 25 years. He is in videos, pics, album covers, Hall of fame with Alabama and a statue in Ft Payne but “just a paid employee of the band”. Greatest country band of all time but absolutely classless with no mention of Mark.
Oh now Randy come on now you got to be just kidding there . Lol cause you knw the place would be full and everybody that could get there to sing one of y'all song man you knw they would 👍👏👏👏👌✌️🫶🫶grest job to all but Lionel Richie knock it in the park you all he was awesome 👌 👏 👍 ❤😊
I used to work at a cd plant in North Alabama (Huntsville) and it wasn't uncommon for us to see Alabama in the plant hallways or on the side walks entering or leaving the plant.
Wheres Mark? He was never considered a band member.....But that's kind of weird because he's on the records, and he's also got songwriting credits on a few songs with the band.
Ive always liked Alabama but lost a lot of respect for them for how they treated their original drummer Mark Herndon. Without him you would not be where you are today.
I remember as a little girl listening to Alabama on the radio I my Aunts powder blue Dodge Aspen. They are still tge best better than any group in Country music
Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry should be ashamed and embarrassed for not even mentioning, little alone thanking drummer Mark Herndon for his decades of service and touring with the band. This was a tribute to the entire band, not the Randy and Teddy show. If they could mention and include Jeff Cook (and rightfully so), Mark has earned and deserves the same amount of recognition and respect. Randy and Teddy should have put the past aside, swallowed their egos and been something besides self-absorbed assholes for one night.
alabama said mark herndon was not a part of the band then why was his pic on ever thing they done. alabamais just like the oak ridge boys did steve sanders wrong some people forget where thry come from

Such a talented group! Thanks to them for decades of great music. They're truly amongst the very best, in my opinion.
My brother is married to one of teddy's granddaughters! I could spot her in the crowd which is so cool! Such sweet and talented men!

One of the best features of the night. The old photos of The Bowrey at Myrtle Beach made me smile and cry all at once. Where have the years gone?

Of all the great bands and songs, and there's plenty. No band has the heart, desire, and history OTHER than Alabama and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Truly Amazing.
In the 90s, I met the Alabama band members. Truly EPIC people. Love their music too. ♥️
We love you Alabama! Saw you First time when first started, had a van and have loved you ever since!! Beautiful songs with heart! ❤❤❤
Love Alabama. Love all their songs.
I remember ridin in my dads ole silverado pick up truck. It was the summer of 1988 and we were listening to "she and i" .. life was great.
His mannerisms almost remind me of my 80 year old grandfather (very much alive and mentally sound, thank you). Just a very sweet old man.
Jeff Cook R.I.P.❤🎼🎶🎵🎸🪕🎹🥁🎻🎚🎛🎧🎤🕊🕊⚘️
Love y'all so much!
Love their music
My first live concert. Alabama with opening acts of Clint Black and Patty Loveless. Loved it!
Thank you for sharing this! ❤

Mark had a falling out with the band a while back
Sadly they're not on speaking terms with Mark. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Would have been nice to see Mark Herndon.... He was a part of the Alabama sound 1980-2005... At least honor his contributions as well

That's the record label's doing, but Randy and Teddy went along with it. It's a shame they act like Mark doesn't exist.
Why did mark leave the group.
Where's Mark?
They aren't on speaking terms with Mark. They fired him years ago over money.
Does Randy have Parkinson's? In other videos he doesn't look like he is playing the guitar and by his mannerisms looks like he does.
Lmao if you’re gonna say “almost 49 years” why not just say almost 50 lol? I mean round up to the nearest whole number if you’re gonna round up…😜😂😂
They were married in 1975…this year will be 49 years. The mere fact that Randy even said it shows how much he loves his wife.
While I am a Alabama fan I still think the way they treated mark was kinda crappie
Crooks for what they did to mark
