I agree with you on the CT mascara. It is nice. It doesn't flake or run. It just doesn't knock my socks off. ND I need a warm is my jam. I am in love with the new Denessa Myricks Light Work VI Freedom palette. It may be my palette of the year. Just so beautiful. Her best work yet. Have a wonderful weekend ❌️⭕️

Your comments about the DM palette are making me want it. I'm so glad it's such a hit in your collection. I with the CT mascara was life changing. It's just an OK mascara for me. If I had longer and curlier lashes, I'm sure it would give me amazing looks, but my lashes are sadly short and stumpy. Thanks for watching today.

I agree with you about the Gucci highlighter. I like a subtle highlight but this is almost invisible!

I wanted to be wowed by it, but sadly, I'm not. It's just OK. Sometimes I get a glimpse of it mid day, and I think it's pretty, but there are so many times that I wear it, and never see it.

Sweed is really intriguing me 😊I'd like to check the mascaras. I don't like most mascaras. My holy grail is Tarte Maneater it curls my lashes, coats every lash and separates. The Too Faced BTS I like too for a bit more volume. Also their blushes look beautiful and the loose setting powder I heard has a satin glow.

I used to use the Maneater mascara all the time. It's been a while since I've been in love with a Tarte mascara. I've never been a fan of Too Faced BTS. It always smudged on me, and flaked. I'm curious to try more from Sweed. Thanks for watching today.

I actually like the CT mascara, it does not smudge on my lower lash line which is a miracle, but I can’t believe how heavy the packaging is, lol. I purchased the Jolene lipstick and it’s a little too orange for me, I prefer blue undertone reds, I also don’t like to have to babysit lipsticks, especially reds. Thank you for your reviews. Have a great weekend 🥰

I'm glad the CT mascara works for you. My lashes are so particular. I wish they weren't, but . . . I like the formula of the Dolly lipsticks, but I wanted to LOVE the formula. Not bad, but too emollient for my nearly 50-year-old lips. I don't mind the color of the Jolene Red, but it's bold enough for me to need to hold it's hand. I'm not about that lifestyle. Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for watching.

That Ciele concealer sounds nice. I don't have a proper spot concealer. I agree on mascara.. There are few where the formula is too heavy and they apply too much so it weighs my lashes down. I prefer thin but not too wet formula that coats all lashes easily and curls

    • @thelipstickgal
      @thelipstickgal  23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

With my stumpy lashes, it takes a certain type of mascara to really create a difference. This new one from CT doesn't start our heavy, but if I build it until I get the length and volume that I want, everything comes crashing down. I do like that it doesn't smudge or flake.

Love your videos thank you for spending your time sharing your makeup. I recently bought Lisa Eldridge, Fawn palette and i'm not super impressed. First, product from her brand and i'm not sure what I don't like about it, but it's just not me. I also purchased iGlaminatrix Barely Basics palette amd WOWZA!!! less is more with that palette, but I'm in love with it.! Im 53 and love wearing color and glitter!

I love color and glitter. Age doesn't matter, but wearing what makes you feel amazing is important. I'm sorry the LE Fawn palette didn't work well for you. I love it, but I've been going for more understated eyes on my non-filming days, and it's perfect. Maybe that's why it's not working for you. It's so understated. Thanks so much for watching, and have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Lipstick Gal! Great rundown. I am enjoying Innbeauty lip oil in shade Pumpkin Latte, also Tatcha Lipstick with spf25 in shade Camelia. I'm still debating on Violette French Bonbon Coqeliquot & a few other of their shades. Also still thinking about the new Merit set. I just feel the shades in that set are too dark for me. I feel the warmer reds are uplifting.😊

@@mztango if you like warmer reds, go for the Bisou Balm in Bonbon Coquelicot. It's a bright coral, but reads a warm red on me. I'm also eventually going to get one of the Bisou Jelly Balms. I have yet to try anything from Innbeauty. I hear great things about so many of their products. Thanks for watching today.

I al so glad you discussed the Cielle Concealer. I love my Tower and Glossier Stretch, but was excited to see if the Cielle could replace them due to its SPF. The consensus is that it is heavy or dry. I use my regular SPF all over my eyes anyway. I am in desperate need for a new mascara so I think sweed may be my next order :) I LOVE my NARS Explicit lippies. I have quite a few shades now. I love the 2 dark browns (excess is one I got) the red and Dirty Talk. I am getting one more shade lol

I'm so glad you're liking the NARS lipstick. They're just ok for me. I do like the Ciele Concealer, but not under the eyes. I'll probably skip that in the future, and reach for something else that's a bit thinner but just as pigmented. (Natasha Denona, Hourglass, ect)
I really like the Sweed Mascaras. I'm also really liking the new one from EM. I'm up to my eyeballs in new mascara these days.

I have a different shade of the Gucci highlighter (04 Opal Pink) and you can definitely see it on my cheeks, but I just find that overall it is a pretty mediocre product especially considering how wonderful the rest of the Gucci Beauty line is. I totally agree that is not worth the price.

So many good products 😀 the only new “ to me “ products I’ve tried this month and I do love them … one of which might be current holy grail status is the nars light reflecting eye brightening concealer in night swan ( holy grail status ) with the light reflecting pressed setting powder ( still deciding my thoughts in that )

I love your videos, but still feel like I’m “drinking from a firehose” with all of the information. I worked for Dior at a high end retailer when I was young. I’m close to your age now. Through the years I have just had to experiment on my own, and have become really good at applying makeup (and eyelashes), but struggle with the cosmetic shopping experience. I’ve had so many “It” products pushed at me that disappointed! Learning from you is helpful, but also a wee bit frustrating. I say this because your needs are different from mine. We are alike in that I have pale skin, but different in that my undertones are neutral to yellow (half Latina here) and I don’t look great in a red lip. I ADORE a red lip, but feel like it makes me look harsh. I bend to it occasionally, because my husband likes it. I have YET to find a red that isn’t high maintenance! I suspect that some of that is my personal chemistry. Lipstick seems to just fly off of me! I’m a wee bit too mature for matte lip products, and that complicates the matter. I’ve tried the Kylie brand of lip products, and while they looked fabulous on the young gal at Ulta, I didn’t love them. I’ve also tried a MAC creme formula (I think) with pretty okay results. Also I did try a NARS matte lip (no longer in production) that I really liked. It was a neutral that didn’t read too chalky or too brown. I liked the warmth in it. There’s where you and I depart. My lashes are exactly like yours, so I’ll follow you closely on your mascara reviews. Glad I found you!

I'm half Latina too! (my mom is Chicana, and my grandparents were from Monterey Mexico) I'm sorry that you're feeling overwhelmed with my content. I'm trying to cover all the bases for those who need it. Especially in a makeup updates. I love first impressions, but that all it is. I always come back and give full reviews of products.
I love a red lip. I just did a video on red lipstick showing my favorites. Maybe use that as a starting point for good formulas. Most of them are low maintenance. I also ranked all my luxury satin lipsticks from worst to best this past winter. th-cam.com/video/Nqugkm6Vckg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TheLipstickGal-Over40Beauty
The above link is for the top third of my collection. My favorites are in this video if you're looking for low maintenance formulas.
There's also the trick of reaching for a non-red shade that has the appearance of a red. For some people it's a rusty terracotta, for others it's a deep pink, neither are reds, but they can appear red when applied.
I'm not interested in the Kylie brand. I've never tried it, and I don't suspect I will. It's for a different demographic, and that's ok. If I'm remembering right, MAC just reformulated their Satin formula. If you're a MAC fan, that might be a great place to start. I loved the re-do of the matte formula they debuted earlier this year, but I haven't tried the satin one yet. I was finally able to get my favorite red MAC in a non-drying formula. (Ruby Woo)
I wish I had longer and more voluminous lashes, but alas, mine are short and stumpy. I need all the help I can get in the lash department. My favorite mascaras are Lancome Monsieur Big, Heimish Dailism Smudge Stop in the curling formula, and I'm really loving the Lisa Eldridge Kitten Lash. These 3 in here are new, but I've only had them for about a month. Not long enough to see how the tube finishes, but I have my fingers crossed for the ones from Sweed. Especially the Pro Lift one.
Sorry for the long reply, but I wanted to address all your points. Thanks so much for watching, and have a fantastic weekend.
