I don’t see AI assistance it as much different from using a Note Template…the important thing is that the provider carefully reviews and edits what the AI produces before signing off on it. But (for better or worse) we’ll all be using AI in healthcare before long…it’s too much of a productivity boost to not use it
Eh. They’ve been saying AI was going to revolutionize healthcare for a really long time. It still can’t reliably interpret even an EKG, and if I asked it to write one of my notes, I’d have to read the entire thing to make sure it’s accurate. I have templates I use now that make it possible for me to write a long OB note for example in a short amount of time. Why would I replace that with an AI that I’d have to proofread?

You can tell when they’ve been dictated or when they’ve imported past history. Somehow my history of eczema was transcribed as asthma. And the pain in the base of my thumb radiated my hip and leg….Had been seen in the same office for hand OA and a separate back issue by 2 different docs.
