I love vlogs like this. Down to earth and honest and real. I think we are all alike more than we think and should just take the time to listen to each other as well as celebrate our differences and what makes us unique. I’m having a fantastic autumn. I’ve grown up in Florida where we didn’t have seasons and now I’ve moved to an area that has leaves changing and crisp, cool weather. I love it! 🧡
LOVE the dance parties. Also love it when you talk about heavy/hard topics, but I understand what you mean. I think it is a really hard balance to find what is helpful and what is "performative". I think you are doing a good job. Just go with what feels right. We love you!
I really appreciate you opening up about these topics. I have also felt the pressure around the topic of activism online and the unspoken pressure of needing to share something just because you have an account. Having strong morals and aiming to actually help others in real life feels more right to me than simply sharing a post online. This is one of my favourite videos from you so thank you!
I completely agree with your points in this video. So many influencers try to get praise for speaking about "difficult topics," but those topics are exactly what everyone else talks about and they would get "canceled" if they didn't lol. It is so courageous in this day and age to even slightly go against the grain, when really, most of us want the same things in the end (justice, peace, etc.) ❤️
Jordan Peterson was my psychology professor at UofT. I'm really glad you have an open mind and are exploring his ideas. I don't agree with him on everything, but I do agree with him on many things. I find the media usually takes his remarks out of context and twists them into something they are not. In any case, I always thought that if the people who hated him saw him genuinely tear up at the suffering of humanity, many of them would have a change of heart. He's a sharp intellect, but he's also a good person.
"And that if we do not agree on every single thing, it's a sign that we are interacting with an enemy - or at the very least, someone to be wildly suspicious and judgmental of...instead of another complex human being worthy of being seen and heard." THIS!
The worst thing we can do is NOT discuss the social issues that define our society. That’s where the healthy dialogs happen. New and different points of view. Staying open and respectful. That’s it. 💜
My mom has borderline personality disorder (which is close to narcissism in some ways but also differs obv), I people-please way to much but I am learning how to set boundaries and it gives me hope to see the progress you've made. It's really difficult not being your care-takers first priority and internalizing it when you're young but I hope we're all healing together
I really do believe it is so important to have these open dialogs to share different perspectives. I would say my political views were more liberal, and I started dating a guy this year with more conservative views. We are completely respectful of each other and willing to hear each other out, and the result has been the most amazing conversations of my life. It has been such an eye-opening experience falling in love with someone who holds different views, because I think previously I would fall victim to passing judgements too quickly on people who think differently than me and my close friends/family. We have learned so much from each other, and now I can bring that learning to how I interact with the world. You realize that most people are just trying their best, or unaware of their own blind spots. The only thing I can't agree with is when people are motivated by fear or power. Fear is what divides people. Power is ego. I have hope for the collective that we will rise above
Thank you so much for opening up. I wholeheartedly agree with your views on virtue signalling. We live in a world where if you don't like something the easiest way to deal is to cancel it. But this is not helping anyone actually understand different points of views. People are complicated, and we don't all have the same life experience, which is why the individual voice is so important. Great vlog! No matter what you say, I will be here, and I think that you have a lot of people following your life who feel the same way.
been having a really hard week with being anxious and having no way to distract myself.. Just letting you know i'm so thankful for you and your content for helping me feel less alone through the years. Thanks for all the cozy vibes throughout the years
One thing to note, sex and gender are separate. Sex is biological and gender is a social construct. So your body is assigned a sex not a gender. You are assigned gender by society. It's an important distinction when discussing the topic. Just to put it out there for more awareness.
I’d really benefit from a video on how to deal with a narcissist and how to cope after being raised by one if you’re ever open to making that video. I’ve been trying to set boundaries but it’s so tough.
YES! Please keep speaking your mind about these hard conversations. I think social justice is heading in such a dangerous direction where not only people who speak against this idea of "wokeness" are villainized, but those who identify as victims are really being held back. I could go on, but Africa's letter explains it beautifully. The extreme social justice these days has really made it difficult for me to truly connect with even my own friends. If I express the problems I see with any of these movements going on today, I fear I'll be shunned or they'll think less of me (despite their claims that they accept anyone and everyone - apparently that doesn't apply to differing opinions). I'm so thankful that you've started to express some of your views on these matters, Kalyn! I've felt connected to you for years since we share so many interests and it's so nice to know that we also seem to share so many important view points - the most important being that everyone deserves respect no matter their opinion. Thank you for your courage and compassion!
Don't be scared to say how you really feel, people that love u will stick around no matter what. I remember a while back you said something along the lines of world peace with a one world government and I was like "😳 oh no Kalyn" but at the end of the day thats how you feel, and I'm still here watching every video ❤
Oh yes, I remember when that stance made sense in my mind -- believing that if we could all come together under the same understandings and pure-intended laws, we would be able to find more unity and create a more peaceful coexistence but I'm no longer so naive to believe that could work when there is so much unfortunate greed and corruption -- especially as you climb up closer to the pinnacle of current power. Centralized control won't bring world peace, but I still do believe collective understanding, appreciation for our differences and unencumbered compassion for one another could. In my rosy coloured dream of the planet, coming together as one world, one earth, one love interconnected with all species, where humans use their consciousness, intelligence and advancements to honour, cherish, protect and balance the planet we inhabit, and small communities grow more connected, taking care of one another with no one left behind and our individual strengths celebrated and utilized in said communities - this would be my ideal utopia ♥️ Thanks for sticking around!!
Kalyn, I love learning alongside you! Thank you for sharing your authentic perspectives, and sharing resources. Subscribing to the Koze community has been so rewarding because this is a group who will take the time to hear new perspectives, and it seems to make you more comfortable to share your authentic voice and I LOVE THAT!! Always cheering you on and love being a part of this community's growth
I know they take a lot of work to make, but your videos are like the feeling of coming home or to a place you love after being gone for a bit. A breath of fresh air, heaviness fading from your shoulders. Thank you, you’re an amazing beautiful human ❤️💕
I appreciate you opening the floor to more topics of interest, I am always open and receptive to taking in as many different ideas and viewpoints as possible! My autumn has been... good when the weather was warm. I've since taken a turn when the colder temperatures and clouds crept in. I struggle seasonally quite a bit, and I'm considering moving someplace warmer but I am stressed, anxious, and scared to leave my mom and all I've ever known. I've never understood how some people as yourself like the moody dark days, but I appreciate the cozy content nonetheless!! 🧡
I absolutely LOVE that you’re talking about this! I’ve been waiting to hear more of your own thoughts on these topics. And I highly recommend the book Nice Racism if you want to go deeper into how to engage without virtue signaling. There’s a talk on TH-cam where the author dives into that topic as well if you’d rather listen to a condensed version than read the whole book right now. But I would LOVE to have more open conversations and go harder into these topics if you’re comfortable. I believe that if anyone wants to be a good ally to oppressed communities they need to be comfortable engaging & learning, which means it’s okay to make mistakes. Just be willing to grow & learn & change. But avoiding sharing & engaging out of your own need for comfort doesn’t help. I know we all aren’t changing our platforms to activist platforms but, change and true support only comes from being open to engage and learn (I feel.) So, I’d love to hear more from you & have the chance to engage more about topics like this.
Love love love love the dance parties, they're fun and they're inspiring and they make me happy and want to dance more in my life too.I like hearing your perspective on topics like the one you talked about and the sentiments that you have I share them or resonate with them and it's good seeing you in your candid self, talking about things that are important to you.More power and more light to you Kalyn❤️😘🌻
I also want to add- I have so much respect for influencers, companies, etc who speak up without just promoting the EXACT same message for fear of repercussions. It's a dangerous thing when people partake in group think just so that they don't get attacked or cancelled. ALL viewpoints are welcome! We can have a mature discussion about it. I wish more people felt like that or were brave enough to do it.
It’s impossible to please everyone. Be authentic to yourself. Sometimes people will get upset. Sometimes you’ll make mistakes. But you’ll continue to learn and grow. Also recommend watching Dr Ramani’s videos. She’s been so helpful for me growing up with two narcissistic parents. ❤️
I really enjoyed this vlog. I love the honest chats and believe they’re really important for us all to be a part of. The only way for us to break the barrier of those uncomfortable topics is to talk about them and share. I applaud you Kalyn. Love this and can’t wait for the next video!
Kalyn, I have SOO much respect for what you just did in this episode!!!! I have been following JBP for a while now and it wasn’t until I found Africa (she’s an absolute angel!!) earlier this year that I was really able to fully release some of the guilt and shame I was holding on to around this idea of “being bad” because I intuitively felt like some of the narratives in current mainstream culture are more harmful than helpful, esp. to the people they are supposed to be helping. God, I even feel uncomfortable typing that because I know easily I could be condemned for it by people who won’t take the time to understand where I’m coming from. Because in reality, it’s EXACTLY like you said - thinking of people as “LESS than” because of an identity marker they can’t change just has never made sense to me. Seeing you be courageous enough to talk about these things has been really really encouraging and I hope you know that there are people who absolutely get it and are cheering you on ❤️
I never thought one of my love languages would be acts of service either but, having someone see your struggle and having them take something off your plate is really priceless. It feels amazing to be seen and then helped out of love ♡
Go Kalyn, Your'e damed if you do, your'e damed if you don't thanks for being so brave! We appritiate your honesty and kindness. We all have issues with how to talk about talk about these things and hearing you doubt when it's your turn to speak and what topics you can speak on, is helpful in it self because that's how i feel. THANKS :)
This is the first video I've watched of yours in over a year (not sure why I stopped, just got into new generes I guess), and wow, what a video to come back to. Number one you look and sound so grown up. But 2nd I really loved hearing what you had to say, and so happy you're talking about these things. It's good to hear someone who has the same sort of wave length as me
Thank you for sharing this. I think it's important to have more space to discuss how we hold perspectives and conversations about these topics. Social issues are never cut and dry since they are often deeply rooted systemic issues manifested through complex individual human beings. It's easier to default to upsetting emotions since they are inherently upsetting situations, which can lead to reactions of looking for fault and blame in others and falsely simplifies the "solution." I live by the hope that we as a collective can move more in the direction of healing, which is a messy complicated process that is in no way straightforward or linear, but in my opinion beyond essential. Kalyn I think the conversations you initiate foster a space for healing so I just want to say that I'm super grateful!
I didn’t expect to want to chime in here, but I just read Africa’s letter. Thank you for sharing!! It touched me and definitely vocalized much of my unspoken thoughts and feelings. I agree with her(and you!!). One thing I’ve been struggling with sharing with the world is that I believe many of these fights we seem to be having now - racism, sustainable living, climate change, moral food consumption, sexism - aren’t going to ever be won simply because we’re fighting AGAINST them. We have to create and build the world we want instead of cancelling the one we don’t. I am unshakably of the belief that if we, individually and collectively, wake up and remember who we all are and why we came here to this life in the first place and embody the power we all have, all these battles we are fighting would look worlds different and, dare I say it, much less important and impossible to solve. 💗🌎 Keep opening up on these, as you do you give others the courage to as well. And I think that’s what we all need right now.
No spring. No autumn. Lol. Watching from Lagos, Nigeria. Started watching 5 years ago when i lived in Kuala Lumpur. Sending all my love. You are glowing and happy. Love it for you.
Recently found your youtube channel and I just want to say thank you. My anxiety has been really bad lately and your videos bring such a loving, calming and cozy vibe
I've been watching you since I was in high school. Do the videos that you wish to share and if anyone has a problem, then they can just pick something else to watch. Don't hold yourself back for no one subject discussions and all.
Gurlllllll you hit the nail on the fucking coffin with this one! I seriously have a lot of compassion for influencers like you because every topic is damned if you do damned if you don’t. If you post and say too much you’re judged and if you don’t say anything you’re judged and you don’t deserve that. Kayln you just continue to speak your true voice because this is YOUR channel you’re the boss not our opinions!! Love u
I personally find that you have a balanced view point on topics that are controversial, I appreciate hearing this and I hope that these kinds of thoughts find themselves seeding themselves in society :)
Everytime I be skipping your videos and start watching em, you hit me on another level girl!!!! 😭😭😭 I love your vibe and energy!!! I should stick to your videos like everyday from today on so I can get my shit together in life cus YOU GIVE ME THE ENERGY AND INSPIRATION TO!!!!!!!!!
I don't know if you'll still read this, but I just wanted to leave a few words nonetheless. Apart from the absolute beautiful vlog and b-roll as always (🤍) I just wanted say, that I'm very happy you included the "controversial topic" clip. As I said before, regardless if I agree with your thoughts and opinions it's still so brave and important. I know you didn't start your journey, or a planning to continue your journey as a labeled "activist" yet we all know you as well have your thoughts and views on everything that happens in our world. Talking about it, especially online and with a great following is so much harder than having a chat with friends yet I do believe it's something we all need and need to hear. So yes, kudos to you for taking the first step and I'm hoping for more in the future ✨🤍
You are always so thoughtful and respectful when you discuss these topics! Your heart is in the right place always, and I think people will see that unless they might chose not to or judge too quickly. Also, Acts of service is my primary love language 🤣 I can feel nearly ashamed of it, it’s not like I want everything done for me. But I think because I’m such an independent person who doesn’t want to impose on anybody, and somebody sees a need anyway and helps - it’s such a caring thing!
I love listening to podcasts and stuff from all over the political spectrum. I think as humans we like throwing people in boxes and categories, when in reality people and beliefs are soooo complex. They’re so much more than a political party, religion, education levels etc. I think there’s a healthy middle where you can educate yourself about all different perspectives and find out what matches your values. Instead of automatically being told your a bad person if you don’t align with certain issues. It’s degrading our society, and our ability to be unified when people start boxing people into these micro groups. I have people in my close circle from all different religious beliefs, political beliefs etc and we all get along because we see each other as HUMANS - not a political party or anything other category. I also agree it’s unfair that everyone online is expected to be an activist, because activism is super counter productive when your not actually educated or passionate about the issue, your just taking that stance because everyone else is without actually deep diving on its roots. Ok I’m rambling!!! Love you and your content!!!💕🌸
Hey Kalyn, long time viewer and first time commenter :) Love your content and I can absolutely tell you strive to understand some of the concepts that might not directly apply to you. Just wanted to give a little context on the ol' JP. In many of his videos he's made it extremely clear that his view of women is as baby factories, that a woman can't have a fulfilling life without kids and if they do they're lying to themselves. He said women are not naturally fitted for positions of power. As you said he's definitely a very smart person, but runs on very antique concepts and refuses to evolve with the rest of the world. Eventually you'll find this content of his if you keep watching his older videos. Bodies are not born with a gender, they're born with a sex, which is vastly different from gender as the latter is merely a social construct. We have intersex people as well, which are as common as redheads in our society, except the vast majority of them are mutilated at birth to make sure they can fit one of the two boxes, and spend the rest of their lives either not knowing about this or having to live with the mutilation, and not necessarily being assigned to the gender they identify with for the rest of their lives. I understand the struggle of being a content creator and the pressure to take a stand in certain areas of dispute we're currently in, but we (long time followers at least) know you're all for freedom of expression and gender identity and that's what matters, but if you decide to discuss them the backlash might be related to just lack of knowledge and understanding of a veeery sensitive topic...
To answer your question on how I’m doing, overwhelmed 😅 I finished my masters degree in August and I finally applied to take my board exam… and I’m just patiently (but not patiently) waiting to hear back 😅 I absolutely love real vlogs like this. Thank you Kalyn!
Dance your heart out ❤️❤️❤️🙌🏾welove it. Also I appreciate you for commenting on controversial topics. I’m all about action and I believe the best thing that we can do as a community to impact changes to set a good example and to impact our community as a whole wherever we are in the world
I love your dance parties! Just had to get that one in.. :) I love the down to earth vlogs. It really gets me thinking about who I am. I would love to see a vlog that talks about what to do when you don't like the person you are. I feel like I am so lost on who I am, or that I don't like who I am. I can be in a group of people talking, and I will feel this overwhelming feeling of loneliness and like no one really cares. It usually ends in me shutting off and wishing I never opened my mouth. I'm the kind of person that talks too much and never says the right thing, and I am painfully aware of it. It's been a journey trying to change who I am because every morning I have to renew my ambition. It's hard to remember to be different when this is who I am, ya know? Some Monday morning thoughts.. :)
I live in Melbourne Vic Australia, our spring has been very wet and cold, hoping for summer to bring some warmer weather 🤞🏻 Also love the dance parties 💖🎉 I dance party on the daily myself
Your videos bring so much joy into my life, Kalyn! Just wanna share that you’ve inspired me in so many ways. One, to start my TH-cam channel several years ago.. and two, to get my yoga teacher training this year. 💙 Never stop being authentically YOU! Let the dance parties commence 😂🙌
Enjoyed this video and really appreciated your perspectives. I know I struggle with feeling like I don’t know enough about topics to have those conversations but on the flip side as a person living with an invisible disability, in relation to those topics I have more I can confidently talk about. On my journey, I’ve learned that sometimes it is better to use your voice/your platform to lift up the people who do have the experience and education to talk about these really important life and social issues. White people shouldn’t speak for people of colour the same way abled bodied people shouldn’t speak for the disabled. We have a responsiblity to do our own research and share what we learn so that the burden of these necessary learnings fall onto the people who are already dealing with the issues everyday of there lives. Really appreciate these conversations and look forward to more 🧡
Its crazy. You always felt familiar and close to me. Was also raised by a narc. (Mother) somehow you just sense when people went through similar stuff. Love
Always add the dance parties! Please!❤️ I’m still trying to figure out what ways I can best make a positive difference without virtue signaling or having a savior complex. Those are not my goals but I need to be aware of my actions and who I might actually be hurting and am I really just saying something to say something but do nothing about it. This year I’ve spent a lot of time working on my social media algorithms and listening to people who are not white and cis gender like me. I’ve learned so much from people’s real life experiences on tik tok (TH-cam too) from people of all races, genders, sexualities, abilities, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, different sizes, etc. I’ve learned as a white person, it’s really easy for my algorithms to default to just a few different types of people and content so I actively have to make that change. I also have been making sure to give my time and viewership to media that’s not by people like me as well. I’ve been asking myself why I want to share things before I do and will it be effective or is there another way I can make a difference. It’s a journey that I plan on working on for the rest of my life bc I’ll never know it all. I will make mistakes. I will need to listen and say sorry sometimes. Either way, I’m trying and you are too. Hopefully this community you have can help each other out with figuring the best ways for each of us to do something in our own helpful ways. Remember humans have confirmation bias and seek people we see ourselves in (studies show this in hiring and other instances) so we have to work against those biases. Not all in a group or community are the same, obviously, but it is important to look at groups and communities to spot social structures that disproportionately harm certain groups. I studied sociology and women and gender studies in college and I’m still learning every day. Sociology taught me the importance of noticing groups and communities that are harmed by the patterns of certain social structures and institutions. I’ve been working on learning about psychology now so I can notice the things certain individuals may face. I hope to go to grad school one day and use the understanding of the two to break down harmful things in this world. I’m thankful for you bringing this up bc a lot of us are also trying to figure out what to do. You have such a safe community of people willing to share experiences and advice. Thank you so much for that❤️.
have been following you since 2017 and when I have a bad day I see your old vlogs because it help me so much. love your work so much and keep up the dance party♥️♥️⚘
I really really appreciate the honest and real talks, thank you so much Kalyn for opening up!! My sister is 13, growing up in seemingly a different era compared to my childhood (I'm 24) where activism and gender identification is more rooted in her upbringing based on the topics that are just being talked about more in society and online. At least when I was growing up I feel like I lacked exposure to those topics and I can really feel the impact of that now as an adult. Although your intention for being online isn't to be an activist, I can understand how you can feel the pressure, definitely. I really value your opinion and views, thank you for sharing. p.s. I love the dance parties!! 💜
I've missed your vlogs, I'm gonna catch up this week. I agree with the "Activist" movement, I'm still figuring things out and understand many things will be bigger than me. October has been a month of unlearning and healing, I've been overwhelmed ting this month.
Aww that thanksgiving dinner with your parents looks lovely, hope Kyra had the best Birthday yesterday and hope Charlie has a great 1st Birthday tomorrow. It's so awesome I share the same Birthday month as your sister and niece🧡✨!
Would you ever expand more on your relationship with that person? I'm in the same position with the alleged as well with her. Talking about healing your inner child, tips for forgiving her, etc. If not, I completely understand, it's very personal and complicated.
Thank you for your thoughtful discussion. I think this is quite risque content and I'd recommend anyone who listens to the podcast or reads the open letter to do so with an open AND a critical mindset. Otherwise, it's not the best ideas that will out, but those who articulate them the most coherently (of which I agree, Jordan Peterson is very articulate). "Wokeism" is a re-branding of a form of activism that has been around for literally decades. In the UK we call it no-platforming. I think the letter tries to include a lot of diverse practices and ideas under the brand of "woke" as a way to discredit it and there's a lot I would disagree with in it. I'm going to protect my peace and not listen to the Jordan Peterson podcast as I'm sure I'll have more to say about that! I know I'm in an echo chamber and part of the problem of left v. right etc., and at the same time, I'm not willing to debate human rights. I think online connection can only go so far and to make real in-roads to close the divide we need to connect more with our communities face to face.
This was so well said, I completely agree. I started getting a little nervous when she started the conversation but I definitely appreciate how she handled it.
I am sorry, as my comment probably isnt what you are hoping for but I think its important. I understand your heart and know you are trying to open up a conversation which I commend you for. But I am one of those people who is completely against Jordan Peterson. I think what he says can be very dangerous even though what he is saying sounds really good. I definitely do not want to push my views on you or anyone else either but I while you are digging deeper into his podcast and other content, to please look at the criticisms of his work too. I have watched some of his stuff, I have watched and read to what you have linked but this way of thinking they have can be dangerous in my opinion. I have also linked a counter to Jordan Peterson and cancel culture. I think you’d like Hasan and he might be someone you’d be interested in as someone who counters a lot of those ideals. I personally continue to watch both people like Hasan and Jordan Peterson to keep that open mind and make my own decision. Would love to chat a bit more and again I appreciate you opening up difficult conversations but I say proceed with caution and keep an open mind that he might not be who you think he is and the concepts they talk about. th-cam.com/video/m81q-ZkfBm0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/YNQuU6z7d5A/w-d-xo.html
Ah, Jordan Peterson. I used to work for his marketing team, so I've listened to a LOT of his content over the past two/three years. No one can deny that he's an intelligent guy, but be careful when you listen to him. He has a way of leading his audience to harmfully conservative points without ever taking responsibility for them himself. He's a sneaky dude coated in intellectual honey.
I get the concern about virtue signaling. But we need to talk about justice, inclusion, the earth, etc. so that we are not allowing the haters to dominate the conversation online and in the general media. If we have privilege, we are, IMHO, obligated to use that privilege to help those who do not. There's a lot of rhetoric about "two sides to every story"...but that excuse is being used in places like Texas to say that any school conversation about racism, difficult history, or even (recently), the Holocaust has to be "balanced" with the opposite views. Some things, like killing millions of people or claiming that owning other human beings has "another side" is dangerous.
I agree completely! I don't think we should cease all important social justice and eco-health conversations on account of virtue signalling, but I believe we should take a moment to be aware of our motivations as well as the motivations of others or more powerful sources when it comes to these conversations. If there's even the tiniest wiff of self-righteousness or hidden self-interest when speaking up about these things it changes the pinnacle of the conversation from being about actually creating great change, learning from our history or helping the world become a better place for all to boosting ego, trying to earn public brownie points or the worst, using the hurt and oppression of others as a catalyst to affirm moral 'goodness' to the world, which feels sickening to me for the personal reasons I mentioned. I respect your perspective but I personally do believe there are billions of sides to every story, as every living being has a perspective or 'side', and while I can see the trail that can make that idea dangerous, I think it can be equally if not more dangerous to cut ourselves off from trying to understand the points of view of people we STRONGLY disagree with or have done incredibly twisted, horrendous things that led to the horrific incidents that have occurred to date. *I'm not saying we need to agree with the other sides of the story or give any kind of respect, balance or credit to it* -- but when you strip away all the details and look at it solely from a fundamental, philosophical point of view, if we fail to try to understand let alone avoid bringing awareness to the seeds that root hate in the world, then we are doomed to repeat it or stay stuck on the things that keep us divided. Everyone is justified in their own minds, it's in learning how these justifications take place from an impersonal point of view that we can better understand how such horrible things happen and hopefully use that knowledge to stop or spot potential dangerous ideas or people in the future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me ♥
Okay I rarely ever post on your videos but I've watched your videos for years. I just wanted to let you know I agree with you on everything you said on here and I really appreciate you speaking on all of this.
I love the Vlogs! missed you girl! hope you and your family are doing well, I have been following you for years since the beginning, never once have you disappointed. I feel very similar to how you feel in the deep discussion part of this vlog. I got the sense that you have to justify yourself sometimes when it comes to deep topics, in my personal opinion I like the fact you do that in order to get the message across but also part of me gets slightly bothered that it has to happen that way because I love the honesty in what you say, also understanding the social media aspect of it all makes sense. Knowing myself I would most likely do the same, long explanation short, love what you do and what you bring to the table each time a vlog is posted no matter what channel of yours, to see how far things have come for you looking so happy with life and with your person ! so cute I cant! Sorry for the long rant, nothing but positivity in this. P.S if dance parties are not in vlogs I think its a sin :D
Yesssss everything you said in this video is so yes. I for one love JP. Im a psychology student at U of T and I find his approach to the world so thoughtful, logical yet at the same time he considers ones emotions. Im so glad you were brave enough to share your thoughts, and in a very objective way, not trying to sway either side. What you said about virtue grabbing is so wise, and I've had those exact thoughts before but never knew how to express it. We are all trying to find what is the most logical and empathetic structure of values and everyone should be free to explore it an open mind, without being attacked or silenced. Keep doing you, cause you're doing great!
your videos are so inspiring to me, and also the best vibe i can think of. thank you so much..... ps: you dont have wifi? i got lost on that one. luv ya
Thank you so much for your openness and honesty with your opinions! I think it's good to have deeper chats from time to time. I definitely agree with not liking virtue signaling (it seems so disingenuous and fake). I have to admit I am not a huge fan of Jordan Peterson and Russell Brand. I haven't really been following them in recent years though, so maybe they've changed somewhat? 🤔 I'm not sure if you've ever heard of Contrapoints. She is more on the left side of philosophy tube and she makes super entertaining videos! She also talks about cancel culture. She did make a video about Jordan Peterson a while back that you may find interesting. th-cam.com/video/4LqZdkkBDas/w-d-xo.html
I'm glad you felt able to share Kalyn and keep parts in that you may have cut out previously. It makes so much sense why you feel uncomfortable talking about certain topics at times as you explained. I could resonate with alot of what you said probably because I have a similar perspective to you and somehow I felt lighter after watching this vlog 💛 I find it difficult discussing some things openly for fear of criticism or conflict but it has really made me think about how to speak about sensitive topics and know that my view is valid as much as another individual's with different opinions and experiences. Also it was lovely to see you beaming when talking about your family events and the support of your partner recently. 💛
I also got hooked on Jordan Peterson but if you really delve deep into his opinions and perspectives he has extremely fucked up ideologies of women especially and society in general. I feel it goes against what your channel is about and there are many people getting blindsided by him as he packages his opinions in a way that people don't fully understand what he's saying and uses language to make himself agreeable to the masses. I never usually comment on videos but I strongly urge you to deeper research into Jordan Peterson, he has conservative opinions and ideas without fully committing to his words as to be favoured by all. Really poisonous type of political commentator.
The audacity for someone to tell you what to include or exclude from your videos 🤦🏻♀️ Edit: I can relate to what you're saying so much because I have a parent with NPD.
Never stop with the dance parties!!! 💃🏼
I love it! 🧡
Love that! Hope you enjoy the sweater weather 🧡🧡
He's a sharp intellect, but he's also a good person.
wow you're so lucky! I wish he'd been one of my psych professors
So grateful for your transparency. It's nice to hear you speak your mind freely ♡
Slowly breaking the ice on my fear and self-censorship
"And that if we do not agree on every single thing, it's a sign that we are interacting with an enemy - or at the very least, someone to be wildly suspicious and judgmental of...instead of another complex human being worthy of being seen and heard." THIS!
your talks always make me feel grounded & NORMAL. you voice the things that I think so many of us are thinking & I adore you for that
The worst thing we can do is NOT discuss the social issues that define our society.
Nothing relaxes me more than your videos. Your whole aura is amazing
Thanks for all the cozy vibes throughout the years
Lady you NEVER disappoint I love that about you. You're soooo brave. Real talk we don't have enough of that to break barriers. ❤️
NEVER, and I say NEVER stop putting dance parties in the vlogs!!
Seeing you be courageous enough to talk about these things has been really really encouraging and I hope you know that there are people who absolutely get it and are cheering you on ❤️
Loved your vulnerability! So brave! ❤️
It's good to hear someone who has the same sort of wave length as me
And wow thank you for sharing Africa's letter, that's like.... Exactly everything.
I haven’t watched your videos in almost a year. You ran across my mind today. So glad and happy that you’re well 🥰
I didn’t expect to want to chime in here, but I just read Africa’s letter.
Keep sharing your thoughts!! All love to you girl
Love u
Can I say: I love your dance parties! They're short little snippets of happiness
I personally find that you have a balanced view point on topics that are controversial, I appreciate hearing this and I hope that these kinds of thoughts find themselves seeding themselves in society :)
watching your videos where you list let your mind speak freely makes me wish there were more people like yourself out there🥺
Loved this video!!! Much of what you said resonated with me! Also, love JP!! Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you continue to do so!
I am so happy you didn’t take out the dance parties!!! They are one of my favourite parts of your videos 😍😍♥️♥️
Please never stop dancing girl ! And your niece was born on the same day as me happy belated birthday to her x
I love the chats you covered! If anything, this made me enjoy your content even more!
I love when you speak up your mind
I love the realistic vlogs from you, and alllll the fall vibes
To answer your question on how I’m doing, overwhelmed 😅 I finished my masters degree in August and I finally applied to take my board exam… and I’m just patiently (but not patiently) waiting to hear back 😅
I absolutely love real vlogs like this.
I live in Melbourne Vic Australia, our spring has been very wet and cold, hoping for summer to bring some warmer weather 🤞🏻
Also love the dance parties 💖🎉 I dance party on the daily myself
Please!❤️
I’m still trying to figure out what ways I can best make a positive difference without virtue signaling or having a savior complex.
For everyone person who doesn't like dance parties there's 10 who do. 🎈love your vlogs!
Thank you for speaking up (especially for the queer community)
Thank you so much for sharing this podcast…it was so enlightening to listen to.
We LOVE your dance parties, keep 'em' coming.
Your dance parties are the best thing 😍💃🏼
Aww that thanksgiving dinner with your parents looks lovely, hope Kyra had the best Birthday yesterday and hope Charlie has a great 1st Birthday tomorrow. It's so awesome I share the same Birthday month as your sister and niece🧡✨!
You continue to inspire me every single day. Thank you.
Wow, thank you!!
Would you ever expand more on your relationship with that person? I'm in the same position with the alleged as well with her. Talking about healing your inner child, tips for forgiving her, etc. If not, I completely understand, it's very personal and complicated.
I'm at minute 7:00, been following the Peterson's for years now, and I absolutely LOVED that podcast episode with Africa Brooke.
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO YOUR NIECE !
I LOVE THE DANCE PARTIES!!!!!
Hi Kalyn!
I want Bentley to be protected at all cost . I love him and you. 💜
Thank you for inspiring me everyday
You are an amasing person! You continue to be my inspiration. 🤗🤗🤗
I agreeeeeee
you put it into words perfectly, thank you! 💕
Allegedly! Love the letterkenny reference!!
Aww she has the same birthday as my partner!! Love that!
Keep doing you, cause you're doing great!
your videos are so inspiring to me, and also the best vibe i can think of. thank you so much..... ps: you dont have wifi? i got lost on that one. luv ya
Love your videos!!!❤❤
I am CONFUSED bc this vlog didn’t show up in my feed or on your channel at all? Huh. Happy to see your face 🤍
I'm not sure if you've ever heard of Contrapoints. She is more on the left side of philosophy tube and she makes super entertaining videos! She also talks about cancel culture. She did make a video about Jordan Peterson a while back that you may find interesting.

Both Contrapoints and Abigail of Philosophy Tube have made amazing videos on Jordan Peterson that are seriously worth the watch.
Yeeeeeeess, I love both Contra and PT!! Glad to see some other people that enjoy them in this community!
Never stop adding in those dance parties!!!
I’ve been reading a lot and I love it
Love the self care 🧖🏼♀️💕
