In truth, I see a bright future for Iloilo simply because of one facet of development which it has more of compared to other cities in the Visayas which is Space. Compared to cities like Cebu, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Bacolod and Dumaguete, Iloilo has the proper balance of economic growth, good governance, and space where investors could build green and sustainable communities such as AyalaLand's Atria District, Megaworld's Iloilo Business Park, and Gaisano Capital's Iloilo City Center. Also, unlike Cebu (which is the city that Iloilo has been fighting against over the name "Queen City of the South") Iloilo has the estuary (a.k.a Iloilo River) which it could use as the backbone of the green, sustainable, and luxurious communities which investors and the local government units have been planning for. Iloilo could even utilize its estuary the same way St. Petersberg, Russia uses theirs for public transportation and tourism purposes. With the right city planning and zoning coupled with proper governance and invesments, Iloilo might just become the perfect city to live in within the whole of the Visayas. The Ilonggos still have the chance of pursuing a more green and sustainable path for their "Queen City" unlike us Cebuanos with our rather crowded, congested, and choked "Queen City" that is Cebu.

queen's favored city is different from queen city of the south! but i still love iloilo city cuzzz that's the hometown of my dad. though i grow and live in cebu city...
