Dividing the community with a pay wall is a terrible idea, but these guys seem to be having a lot of fun. reports of BF1s demise may be exaggerated.
They gotta make the money to create games. This shit isn't free to make.
Of course. But the game is $60 and they could still charge for other aspects of DLC besides the maps. Other companies that also have to make money have already started doing this.
Right, but I think that is the problem. BF has't changed but a lot of the rest of the gaming industry has. They recognize that paying for maps splits the community and ultimately that isn't good for the health of the game. BF also released the first DLC waaaaaaaay too late this time. In March when it should have released in January.
Dorvid I think it does provide a lot. R6S is the go to analogy for free DLC arguement. I see that one small map for free and two operators. Now considering the game size of R6S a new operator per side is a big difference and the learning of the map in R6S adds a lot to the content playability.
BF provides 4 huge detailed maps with a new game mode (sometimes the mode is shit, but I think frontlines is gonna be played more than operations by me now) new weapons and in this case, a new faction.
Yea well even if it is 60 dollars, games are still extremely expensive to make.

On console the B flag in the second sector is in a different place, and it makes it impossible to take the Fort because there's only two ways in. That flank Matimio took is out of bounds for attackers and would be the only way to take A.

The new game mode is fun. But it feels hard to balance. Usually one team rolls over the other. I've also had 2 fantastic matches that lasted upwards of 80min. The ones that are balanced and go back and forth are a ton of fun

I wouldnt say dead on arrival, I would say dead in 4 months.
I never bought DLC for BC2 but I did buy it for BF3 and BF4 and in my experience, despite many of those DLC maps being very well done (CQ and Aftermath especially, fucking amazing maps), rented servers rarely ran ANY DLC maps and the official servers were always underpopulated in both games. I really don't want to buy premium just so I can get the guns and then be stuck playing the vanilla maps anyway because nobody bothers with buying the DLC.

There are lots of flanks on this map.
Every time I get to a nade-choke point I run around for a flank.
I'm pretty sure the only reason people complain about Battlefield 1 maps being hard like this is cause it's a bunker so a camper is like "Let's just play Call of Duty on another computer." Thing is, I'm pretty sure people just look at the map and say "Impossible to take the map." Even though you can simply Grenade spam or have LITERALLY EVERYONE PUSH THE OBJECTIVE AT THE SAME TIME! As long as one person gets through- nope, the idiots already just filed in that it sucks and they are too lazy to shoot at the enemy.

Don't support this, DICE needs to learn they can't just release the game content light, then charge for the DLC's that complete the game, and then on top of that adopt a cancerous Lootbox system.

I agree with jack. Even Ubisoft had adapted and has gone from my least favorite game company to second favorite (first is blizzard) by simply changing their dlc policy. It extends a games lifespan and strengthens the community.

I've been having an issue where my kills don't count toward unlocking the new dlc guns. I got 30 kills with the automatic factory variant and none counted toward unlocking the ribeyrolles. Does anyone know a fix for this issue?
Sunday Mailbox: What do you think about an attacker that can set traps for roamers. Almost like kapkan traps. I know there are claymores and so I was thinking for a defender roamer like the sitrep perk from MW2.
