@@justincase7848 I appreciate quads, they're exciting, but I am noticing a trend of skating only to hit jumps. Sometimes it's to the point where the skater isn't even in time with the music. The jumps just exist. That, to me, isn't figure skating.
She skated so beautifully to me. I always thought she was undermarked by the judges in international competitions,and just because she could not do all the huge jumps the Russian girls, and others did doesn't mean I did not enjoy watching her skating just as much. What she may have lacked technical , she more than made up in her grace and beauty.
Exquisite. Absolutely beautiful. In my opinion, two of the most beautiful programmes in skating history - people will watch and love this in 100 years time after we are all long gone. Skating can be seen and analysed in many different ways; and can represent many different aspects of life - this speaks to some of them.
Karen Chen is the only American woman who competed in the team event in singles. 10th for Mariah in the individual event in Beijing was also overly generous. Her scores compared to Gubanova and Yelim Kim made no sense.
all 3 underscored compared to Trusova and Valieva. but yes I agree Gubanova for one should have placed higher. 3 clean triple-triples but you wouldn't know it from the scores
@@loolool963 musicality of course and perhaps transitions. Yelim is way faster than Mariah though and has a lot better moves in the field (Ina Bauer etc.)

Beautiful -this to me is what figure skating should be ; grace, musicality and of course athleticism . . . the jumps , however, do not capture my heart.
