In a country divided by 2 ethnicities, the leader who gets elected will obviously be from the majority. If you let muslims become the majority by reproducing too much. You can say goodbye to your country. And if you are for human rights, you absolutely don't want that to happen. It is a strange way to defend human rights by sacrificing innocent people, but to defend the sheep, you need to kill the wolf.

It looks like a beautiful country and friendly people. Why would anyone want to hurt these people? Even the girl speaking English, she's just a sweet girl. But you can tell that she's endured and seen alot in her young life.

I've no idea about the situation there, but my idea would be to teach both languages in elementary school and once the children are (more or less) fluent in both languages, put them all together in high school. You could maybe partially teach in each language to avoid focusing on one language as the predominant language, which might be perceived as forcing the other language out. This would have several advantages: 1) If you are able to communicate with people of the other ethnicity in the country, it is more likely that the intermingle. However, if there is always the language barrier, it is unlikely that they intermingle. 2) There is a good chance that some become friends in high school, further reinforcing the mixing of ethnicities. 3) If you're lucky enough, they slowly melt together to form a common identity. This is probably what conservatives fear and want to prevent by all means. However, forming a common identity is actually a good thing, as it strengthens the individual's identity and avoids future conflicts. After all people hate their neighbor, because it's They vs. Us. If my neighbor is in my group with which I identify myself (despite a different religion, etc.), then it is a lot less likely that I hate my neighbor on a non-personalized stereotypical level.
its a nice thought but sadly not what happened as what you say was already happening in SAP kosovo before the war people talked both albanian and serbian (though mostly serbian ofcourse) and people were friends with the other and were able to coesixt under tito. But as the video says it was the leaders (mostly milosevic) that instead of making the nation of yugoslavia which he was the leader of stronger he instead wanted greater serbia and awoke the underlying hate people had for eachother.

Calling their language 'Macedonian' suggests a Greek origin, however it's a Slavic language, or Balto-Slavic to be precise, and has nothing to do with the historic Macedonians, who spoke Greek.

Wrong narrative all the way… Serbia didnt fight Albanian Muslims in Kosova, but Albanian as ethnicity in Kosova. There is a big difference here!!! Out of 13500 Albanian civilians killed 3000 of them were non muslims. Check the facts next time.

Unlike the central south slavs, whose foundation of identity is based on one of the three abrahamic religions ( and the central south slavs habe all three of those religions- Bosniaks= Muslim, Croats= Catholic, Mkntenegrins and Serbs=East Orthodox Christianity), the foundation of identity among ethnic Albanians IS NOT religion but the Albanian ethnic identity, which in the Balkans precedes the arrival of abrahamic religions. have all religions. Albanians were pagan before christianity arrived to the Balkans and then they all became early christians, later Orthodox Christians and Catholics, after than with the arrival of the Ottoman Empire to the Balkans most ethnic Albanians converted to Islam (although significant percentage remained christian and crypto-christian)…. However, Albanian identity is not primarily based on abrahamic or any other religion but rather on their own language, history, ethnic folklore and traditions…

Macedonia accepted and welcomed the most of refugees from kosovo. Instead of appreciation and thankfullness to this new born country, that showed humanitarian and european values, albanians (refugees that moved in, became later residents) started a war two years later in 2001 and the international community did nothing about it. It looked like the macedonians took a trojan horse inside their country. Thats briefly what happened and says a lot about albanian (dis)honor.

But according to facts and what can be proven, well there are 8000 (more or less) Albanian civilians deaths in Kosovo (killed). This number excludes soliders that died and other minorities like the roma community, the bosnians in Kosovo etc. Just Albanians civilians which include children, women, elderly, young men and such. From them almost 1200 or so are children. 1600 are still missing. Meanwhile there are less then 2000 Serbs that died during this war. 500 were soliders, while the rest are civilians who were caught in crossfire. 1000 or so were killed by KLA in revenge and organized killings. Though 10% or so were Serbians killed by Serbians too for being considered traitors and helping Albanian neighbors. But, many also died due to hunger, cold and such even if not directly by Serbian hands but by the conditions created during war, mines, beatings and such. So the estimated number of all deaths from living conditions, medical condititions, war itself is roughly over 13,500 people who died. Also, The Yugoslav and Serb forces caused the displacement of between 1.2 million to 1.45 million Kosovo Albanians. So the numbers speak for itself.

The Balkan countries were weak and they became toys in the hand of the great powers. First refugees were not recorded until after the nato bombing began . Not to mention their is not one mention of KLA atrocities or croat crimes or Bosniak atrocities. The Serbs were guilty but they were not alone.
Not really, KLA has no hand in any killing on serb minority, as in there were never directives from KLA leaders to do any harm on civlians... individuals may have done in their own as a revenge killing after the serbian military and police did on albanians (there is a transcript of Milosevic directly ordering one of massacres in Kosovo)

My dad fought in the Kosovo War with the 10th Special Forces. He was stationed in Macedonia while NATO was bombing Serbia to submission. After the bombings stopped, my dad and the U.S. Army soon moved into Kosovo.

Just teach everyone in English or any language that’s not native to either. English just has the better value of learning I would assume

Unlike the central south slavs, whose foundation of identity is based on one of the three abrahamic religions ( and the central south slavs habe all three of those religions- Bosniaks= Muslim, Croats= Catholic, Mkntenegrins and Serbs=East Orthodox Christianity), the foundation of identity among ethnic Albanians IS NOT religion but the Albanian ethnic identity, which in the Balkans precedes the arrival of abrahamic religions. have all religions. Albanians were pagan before christianity arrived to the Balkans and then they all became early christians, later Orthodox Christians and Catholics, after than with the arrival of the Ottoman Empire to the Balkans most ethnic Albanians converted to Islam (although significant percentage remained christian and crypto-christian)…. However, Albanian identity is not primarily based on abrahamic or any other religion but rather on their own language, history, ethnic folklore and traditions…

Macedonia accepted and welcomed the most of refugees from kosovo. Instead of appreciation and thankfullness to this new born country, that showed humanitarian and european values, albanians (refugees that moved in, became later residents) started a war two years later in 2001 and the international community did nothing about it. It looked like the macedonians took a trojan horse inside their country. Thats briefly what happened and says a lot about albanian (dis)honor.

Let's just get this right once and for all, there is no such thing as MACEDONIAN, it is BULGARIAN. These people hate one another, they are all from same stock, Bulgarians hate one another (Macedonian) Serbs hate their cousins Bosnians and Croats, due to religion etc. All Albanians want to do is live in peace in their ancient lands, regardless of religion. Albanian tolerance between one another is unlike another. They have never committed genocide and mass murders throughout their history. But try to live in peace with the native population! I understand it is all about religion! Before slavic people colonized Balkans, they were pagans, when serbs came from serboi tribes close to siberia and so did bulgars, they were pagans, and Albanians had 800 years of Christian traditions. These religious fanatics became Christians almost 1 millennia after of the ones they accused as "terrorists" based on religion. But little do they know when they go to Albania, even before communism, people married one another Christians and muslims alike because BLOOD DOESN"T TURN INTO WATER.

@@nermainmerl6108 There are lots of claims from both goverments and the exact numbers can't truly be known considering the situation and all.
But according to facts and what can be proven, well there are 8000 (more or less) Albanian civilians deaths in Kosovo (killed). This number excludes soliders that died and other minorities like the roma community, the bosnians in Kosovo etc. Just Albanians civilians which include children, women, elderly, young men and such. From them almost 1200 or so are children. 1600 are still missing.
Meanwhile there are less then 2000 Serbs that died during this war. 500 were soliders, while the rest are civilians who were caught in crossfire. 1000 or so were killed by KLA in revenge and organized killings. Though 10% or so were Serbians killed by Serbians too for being considered traitors and helping Albanian neighbors.
But, many also died due to hunger, cold and such even if not directly by Serbian hands but by the conditions created during war, mines, beatings and such. So the estimated number of all deaths from living conditions, medical condititions, war itself is roughly over 13,500 people who died.
Also, The Yugoslav and Serb forces caused the displacement of between 1.2 million to 1.45 million Kosovo Albanians. So the numbers speak for itself.

Cant understand why Serbians are called bad or evil ant throw all the blame to them. No, they are not and they were guarding the unity of their country. I guess its hard for regular person to assume what cause this separation, what happen, what brings this disaster and hatred. I think the Balkan architecture is one big mistake since the WW1. The Balkan countries were weak and they became toys in the hand of the great powers. First refugees were not recorded until after the nato bombing began . Not to mention their is not one mention of KLA atrocities or croat crimes or Bosniak atrocities. The Serbs were guilty but they were not alone.
Not really, KLA has no hand in any killing on serb minority, as in there were never directives from KLA leaders to do any harm on civlians... individuals may have done in their own as a revenge killing after the serbian military and police did on albanians (there is a transcript of Milosevic directly ordering one of massacres in Kosovo)

My dad fought in the Kosovo War with the 10th Special Forces. He was stationed in Macedonia while NATO was bombing Serbia to submission. After the bombings stopped, my dad and the U.S. Army soon moved into Kosovo.
