I have sent many pictures of Chromian Diopside and Violite Diopside Gems from Space and Metal Meteorites to Elon Musk on Twitter, and never got a Response.

And I specifically said "like" so I could provide an extreme example which covers the broader range of possibilities such as being homeless which is the least of their problems.

Meteorites once they have been found requires classification, most of the time it's not known if a particular meteorite is of any significance until it's been to a lab for study.
It's far easier to set a standard sell price based on the finds not being classified and no research done on them.
They don't know what they have at the time of purchase. If they did it would be ethically and morally wrong to buy something worth $1million at the price set.
It would mean the bedouin traders would need to have a laboratory to earn the money associated with significant finds.

I saw a guy on the discovery channel 20 yrs ago doing the same in Arizona and I thought to myself that's not a bad way to make a living but of course didn't.............smh! About the same time a meteorite broke apart over the S. burb of Chicago where I'm from and did cause some minor damage like going through a guys roof and his 2nd floor and ending up in his living rm.........a university came out and set up a site at a firehouse in one of the burbs which also had damage and was buying what people found and the guy whose had the hole in the roof made enough to get a new roof plus an extra 20K. The meteorite that went through the fire stations roof was bigger and caused more damage but the town made enough to fix the roof plus 50K....not bad!
