You can setup the Link Micros for instant trigger and also to transmit pictures on each detection if that is what you mean. These setting may take a heavy toll on the battery and these have a pretty small solar panel.
@@strixoutdoors Yes thats what I needed to know....I will be using it just for security reasons and will take very few pics as there shouldn't be any people walking around that area....Thanks.
I have 8 of them now. The only one's I have any problems with are the Evo and I have two of them. The pictures are not the best that are being sent to you but you can make out a deer or a bear. Only have 4 red led lights helps but it does make a noise everytime it takes a picture. The big bucks I have just stay away from the camera. Over all I have been happy with my. I don't have to go out every weekend just to pull cards.
Does this camera have the ability to attach an external solar panel or battery to maximize its longevity in shadier environments, or simply ones that only get an hour or 2 of decent light a day?
When you was testing it out in your yard was you able to see the flash on the micro s? Spypoint says that it’s a low glow flash camera and does the deer notice it all that much?
hi Kyle, It's not a "flash" per say. It is a low glow as the light comes from 4 red LEDs on the front of the camera. In my experience it doesn't seem to affect the deer behavior. I think they do notice it to some degree but it's not like a camera flash or something like that which scares them. I'm pretty sure they notice it though as I have extreme close up pictures of deer noses from various cameras.
I have one out that is s lte going on four months. Temps vary from 12 to 80 degrees. Snow ice rain. Cameras at 2300 ft altitude. Haven't touched camera. Pros. battery life over 90% may only get 1 picture a day it's remote area. I run it on auto send every pic high settings. Con.picture s are not great but I can tell what it is.moose bear yotes deer bocats fisher cats. Fogs up need to use antifog lens cleaner. For the money I give it it buy. Also have a micro Ltd I added solar to works as good.
Sounds like a pretty good run on yours too. The HD pictures are much better than the regular ones that come through. It's only $5 I still haven't used up my 50 after 3.5 months of running it. I usually only need a few good HD pics of a particular buck to make a judgement call and most of the time I can tell if it's the same buck or a different one from the low resolution pictures.
@@Rodmanvt , really? Did you get an email from them with the codes to use for either the $15 spypoint credit or the mail-in rebate? Getting the rebate from them takes forever, but getting the $15 credit (or $5 for cell link) has been very easy and consistent
Junk. I had 2 of these Link Micro-S cameras. After many problems in the beginning and one of them replaced by Spypoint, both only worked a few months before they leaked in water and were ruined. Stay away
Terrible review. You didn't even take them out in the field at all. If you had you would have realized that they are complete garbage cameras. water gets in and shorts them out, not to mention all the firmware issues. Everyone stay away from these.
Garbage weather sealing. They won't last. Had two with crap out from water infiltration in less than two months. Customer service was very unhelpful as well.
I noticed condensation on the photo lens on mine at the same time that it started not communicating and only taking random photos. Brought it in house to dry but it came back right away. I have another 7 months on the unfortunately prepaid plan as well. Bit pricey for 5 months photos of my cat....
That's unfortunate. I wonder where the moisture is getting in. I have a Link-Micro-S out in the field that stopped transmitting recently. I think the battery died but I need to go pull it and see. I always just do the month/month plan.
I took one of the solar panel ones right apart. It looks like there's two spots water gets in. One from the solar panel, and second from the door closing. The latch isn't nearly tight enough.
@@Liberty_Tree, good to know. I'll take a close look at mine when I pull it. Hopefully will be doing so in the next few weeks. Thanks for the feedback!
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the Link Micro S performance. How are they working for you? Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
First off I’m smacking that like button, very involved review.
Definitely a lot of solid information and testing.
Thank you!
I have several Link dark cell for security...do these Micro cameras have instant notification?

Does the Micro S LTE V take batteries or only the Lit 10 pack that you recharge?
Only the LIT10 battery pack. It comes with it fortunately but it will cost you ~$50 if you want a spare or eventually need to replace it.
