@@FixitAll Okay thank you. Ran into an issue today installing Awoco flush mount. The blower for it was way too big for the soffit. I'm going to order the one you installed and only use one of the pieces and cut it down to 12". Thank you again!

Very nice well done! I have the exact one. The piece that you first started with is it called the shaft? I do have a question on that piece. Yours looks like it doesn't have the screws positioned like mine. Mine look like that's an opening of the shaft area 🤔 I have 12 screws all together on 6 each side all 3 on top & 3 bottom & I want to open that area to clean some dust particles that are in there, with a mini vacuum hose. Would that be possible do? Or should I leave it alone? The dust particles actually came into it from ac vents. It was a lot well enough. My hose tiny but not tiny enough to through the vents on the side of shaft. Or suggestions? Thank you! Once again well done!
How can you raise the range hood? I have a similar one and I hit my head every time I am cooking I think they didn't center it properly. So it's coming too far out. I can't change that. But if I could raise it a few inches. That would make it easier on my head. Lol. Thx !

Hello, Like you, I have no way to attach my range hood's motor housing using the upper mounting screws which are blocked by the chimney cover. I am hoping that using the lower mounting screws only will provide sufficient protection from vibration and adequate holding power.
Why do you go to all that trouble and then use flexible venting? That’s not what you’re supposed to use. You’re supposed to use straight duct. Grease and moisture can get trapped in there. It also creates more noise. Otherwise very interesting video.
If you watching this installation from previous part, i am not open the full ceiling to get space for use straight duct. Only two hole 6" from both side and there is no way to metal duct, only flex. From my 24 years experience, i have never saw or hearing some complain from customers about flex duct in a kitchen.
Second door 15" and it pass the glass 1/4". But first cabinet door 18" that's why it hitting glass. If i move the hood 3" more (for 18" door) it will be 3" of the center between ceiling light and 3" to the left from cooktop surface. So 3" off will looks not good and strange. I will make a door stopper for the 18" door and it will protect from any dent/scratch.
Just by hand, no any liquid or chemicals. Only one thing can help to remove sticky films, retail stores labels, price tags - hot air by hair dryer or heat gun (on low temperature).
Hey, just back to home from my customers, and I was curious how my hood glass seat there. I removed 2 screws from left side to check if the glass not glued or stick somehow to stainless steel. So you know, nothing to hold it. I easily lift glass up 1/4" from the left side. So I'm sure if I remove two other screws I will be able to lift the glass. Just to be clear, for this manipulation need completely take down to the floor hood and lift it through the pipe up.
Cut or not cut that's really depend on how low will be glass of the fan and how high the ceiling. My ceiling just 93" and when i start to use a factory length 0:09 I can't see the screws under cover and cant use screwdriver to them. The firs was cut off to get space for screws only - see it at 3:30 and with lift up fan at 8:10. The second short peace was installed short because if you will use long it will cower side air slots on top of the first cover peace. So the second 3-4" peace need only to cover the screws and not necessary to have it full factory size all the way to the top - see it here 8:18
After couple days we decide lift fan 1" more and I was need to cut off a little more to get the screws again. Part 32. Range Hood Reinstall Higher th-cam.com/video/JDOnix5G_K4/w-d-xo.html

great cut job on the SS hood chimney. This is harder to do than it looks. Hung my Elica via a non-vented soffet box (unvented Attic space). Need to re-foam the roof, hoping that will reduce the condensation on the interior of the Hood when not in use. This is from warm pipe air, cold A/C air in room space. The roof cap damper operates but they never completely seal. Thinking about adding a Backdraft damper at the Inside/Attic space interface. Any ideas?
You right. But in some case no way to insert duct pipe, unless customers ready to pay a thousand extra for just a piping, to open the ceiling and get sheetrock repair and painting whole ceiling.

More screws, more chance not to loose all parts after years of vibration.

As you can see here th-cam.com/video/XNl1r2538yA/w-d-xo.html the glass was preinstalled by the factory.
From other videos about the glass, it should be removed just with 4 screw.

Aren't you concerned about flexible dryer duct used for a Range Hood? Code here is rigid metal ducting.
I know, but there is no way to use metal duct when sheetrock on ceiling.
