- After the conquest of Magna Graecia the Romans came into contact with the greatest power in the Mediterranean, Carthage. Tense political situation in Sicily is made even worse with the death of Agathocles of Syracuse. Rogue mercenaries from Campania serve as a spark that would ignite a conflict for the supremacy of Mediterranean, lasting over a century.

The way you design the people, is the only reason why my brother doesn’t beat me up when I watch history videos on the TV.
Its like scribblenauts
It looks very gameifiable
Is your brother 9 or something?
Wtf lmao
Wow your brother beats you up?
I am so happy to have found you through the youtube algorithm, your videos are clear, the pace is great, the animations as well, and there's a nice touch of humor. Very enjoyable!
I wish Dovahhatty was still around 😢
5:50 "Aves non sunt vera" LMAO ("Birds aren't real", great meme)

We be getting the good grades in history and latin with this channel 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
oh gosh you’re right I gotta stay locked in
I've seen almost all the big rome youtubers cover this but your videos still feel fresh to me, maybe its the way you show the history but it registers more in my brain
The sound of impact at the end of Dido's fall was *chef's kiss*
Excellent video as always. This channel deserves a million subscribers, the artwork and style of presentation are so digestible and entertaining, easily one of my favourite historical channels.
The channel should do more meme stuff.
Thanks!!! Legit made my morning seeing you posted a new video!!! Keep up the good work
Same
I could listen to you for hours. It's incredible how well synced your voice and the piano are. Captivating and relaxing at the same time.
This channel does a really good job on making it detailed and entertaining 👏
Only if they talked about dragons too.
You deserve millions of subs. Entertaining, Consistent uploads, historical accuracy. Huge fan on the channel!
Me: TH-cam is WAY too saturated with content about Roman history.
Also me: MORE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
The production quality is absolutely insane! One of the best channels I’ve seen on TH-cam. Hope you get lots of subs!
AS A SACRAFICE TO THE ALGORITHM
CARTHAGO DELENDA EST
Underated, keep up the great work! I have been watching all of your videos!
Another excellent video. The map and other images are beautiful in a simple, almost cartoonish way that is part of your unique style. I'm excited for the next episode and it's very satisfying to watch your channel grow!
I found this series through the TH-cam algorithm when episode 16 dropped, and I was immediately hooked. Already watched through the entire series and this channel is now up there as one of my favorite history channels
Lets go a new video drops im gonna get my popcorn 🍿
You should make a video about Byzantine-Sassanian wars
That's looking way to far ahead in the future bro.
That would still count as Roman military history, so wait till episode #200 or something
So glad I found this channel. Love the content, hopefully you keep growing.
Regular updates! Love to see it. Cannot wait for the next one
Another peak entertaining and informative video as always
1:18 Was the Mona Lisa actually a portrait of Dido all along? I had no idea!
Time traveller da Vinci confirmed!
Amazing video. Please keep it up
The punic wars is just like the world wars, everyone thinks the causes for the first one were dumb and the leaders leading it were dumber. But it made the titans that would fight and lead in the second.
I love your videos can't wait to see you cover the punic wars
INSTANT SUBSCRIBER. LOVE IT. DONT STOP.
Bro is finally getting big.
Great videos! Small thing that maybe you mentioned or someone else commented. The double harbor of Carthage wasn’t constructed until after the 2nd Punic War was over.
Loving this channel
I’ve been waiting for this🎉🎉🎉
consistently great quality, every video!
I’m surprised that the Mona Lisa is in Dido’s throne room at 1:31. Time Traveler confirmed 😱⏰🚀?
Shhhhh 🤫🤫🤫
How about the other painting? (Guérin: Aeneas Tells Dido the Misfortunes of the Trojan City). Even more time travel...
This is a very good series. Subbed.

Nice video
Hail Magister
very unusual animation) cool)
What piano music do you use in your videos?
Nice
In this series are you going to stop with the fall of the wester Rome empire or still continue with the eastern rome empire (byzantine empire).
The plan is for this series to go until the fall of the Western Roman Empire. We plan on making some other series too, maybe even one about Byzantium.
@@MagistraVitae "go until the fall of the Western Roman Empire"
That's great news since we all know that Rome never actually fell... 😉
As a Hannibal fan I support this video 😊
I think you should make a Discord Server for your channel
It's all Hiero's fault!
Carthago Nova didn’t exist until Hannibal, right? Bc it’s shown here much too early
Yes, we made a mistake there. It was actually founded by Hannibal's brother-in-law Hasdrubal in 228 BCE. Although, there are some records pointing to an even older Iberian settlement, Mastia, on that location.
Wait, did you say we instead of I? Do you work with a friend or have a crew?
@Bruh___452 We are a team of two.
Yay! !!
Is this video made in Scribblenauts?

just btw , i was sick of arguments on internet so i asked chat GPT what group of languages is Phoenician . turns out its related to jewish and arabic
(although if anyone wants to argue about it some more) i have no idea how Afroasiatic tree branch looks like and from what i gathered it includes jewish , arabic and whole bunch of now dead languages .
Yes, Phoenician is one of the Semitic languages. Hebrew, Arabic, Aramaic as well as some other languages from the region are also a part of that group.
Wooo
A small thing, but dont quote me if im wrong. In latin C is pronounced like a K. Like in syracuse. Came in my mind when you said Pisentes instead of Pikentes. But im not sure so might be wrong
It depends on classical vs ecclesiastical latin pronounciation. It's sometimes difficult to figure out the correct pronunciations for these lesser known tribes and figures from history. We do our best to research every new name we come across, but we do make some mistakes.
It was, but there's also an anglicized pronunciation for Roman words when speaking English (as in Cicero or Caesar)
and another one...

Thank you for this man. Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's very very much into Carthaginian and Roman warfare I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series. Keep up with the amazing work
Why are your cartoons bending their heads all the time?
I think it's supposed to be the movement from breathing. You can see the same movement in certain video games.
