It's wild to me that the British people have been voting for the same two parties for 100 years
It's because we need some kind of mix of Single Transferable Vote and Proportional Voting. I think 16 year olds should be able to vote if they have finished their exams which is when they can leave school. Though they are required to either take an Apprenticeship or go to College. Otherwise 16 years would pay taxes without representation.
The system was designed that way

Good confident speech from the heart. Starmer is often unfavourably compared to Blair, but Starmer's parents were working class and had problems paying the bills. By contrast, Blair's parents were Law Lecturers and a Barrister so Starmer's back story is much more compelling and connected to the Labour story.
Apparently Keir's dad was a toolmaker.... I can tell.
He's more unfavourable because he is wishy washy and indecisive. We desperately need change and his approach is uninspiring for many people.

I am under no illusion that it will take Labour maybe 5+ years to bring about change due to the terrible mess the Conservatives have left the country in.
The Tories' far-right wing ( the so-called Popular Conservatives, Truss, Rees-Mogg etc) took the party to the edge of the abyss, and Mr. Sunak decided to jump. The outcome of this election could be disastrous for the Tories, and a great opportunity for change in the UK. I hope Labour wins
