My mom started this tradition. She buys a large 1000-2000 piece puzzle and sets it up on a card table with several chairs. Everyone worked on it at random times throughout Christmas break and it was fun to try and get it done by the end of the break.
I'm at work right now. I work from home, mostly, for a corporate bank in the mortgage department :) I have SO much cleaning to do. My mother-in-law's birthday was this last weekend and we had a huge party for her, so I was gone most of the weekend. There's so much to catch up on, so thanks for motivating me! 💜
We went to church this morning & food shopped! Came home, relaxed a bit - put laundry away and then I always lay out my kids’ clothes for the wk! This wk is simple - two days of pajama days and the rest some fun themes! So that was easy! I already made their lunches and have their snacks ready for their lunches! Relaxing while I watch and then making sausage, peppers and onion sandwiches for dinner! Happy Sunday !!
We do year round homeschooling with our kids, so we make a 2 week break the weeks before and after Christmas. I'm used to them being home with me all the time, so our routine doesn't really change. But, I like to have them help me clean, we bake a lot, they help me make homemade hot chocolate, they play outside in the cold a lot with our dogs, they help to wrap gifts for other people, etc. Those are some of the ways they keep occupied. Other than that, they play all day. They're 5, 3, and 1.

Happy Christmas! My son's last day was Thursday. He is 4. I made him a Christmas coloring book to help keep him busy at home. We have also been doing jigsaw puzzles and playing lots of games. We will probably go bowling over the break too. For Christmas he's getting some new lego sets and games to learn to play so hopefully that will keep us entertained next week
Hi, Amy! I always enjoy watching your videos and I look forward to every Sunday. Decluttering and organizing videos are my personal favorite and I always think that this time of the year (along with right at the beginning of a new year) is the perfect time to go through one's home ~ room by room ~ and declutter and organize. A lot of people will get new items as gifts so it is a great idea to get rid of things you no longer need or want to make room for the new things that you will receive as gifts. And the end of each season is a great time to get rid of items that you did not use (i.e., decor type items) or see yourself using in the future. No sense to take up valuable real estate in one's home with stuff that you won't use again. Today I am doing a couple loads of laundry and just chillaxing on the couch. It's gray and gloomy outside (currently 35 degrees in Minneapolis), so it is a great day to just hang out indoors.

The Christmas trees are lit up, it's snowing outside, the kids are at school (they are done with school for break this week), and my husband is at work. I excited to see what you do with the office. I've always been a fan of Murphy beds for guest rooms because then the the room can be more multiuse. You might want to consider it. You definitely use that room more as your office. I would probably put it in the space where your desk is now. Then the rest of the room is dedicated office space. But your idea of built-ins is good too. ❤
