First thing I want to say is that Harry and Louis has made it pretty clear that they like the fanfiction. They've even taken inspiration from it and smiled ear to ear while discussing fanfic in 1D interviews. Also, Liam was absolutely the strongest voice when they were all on the xfactor. The others grew into their voices and confidence over time. Liam wasn't lying and based on Louis' reaction he knew what Liam was talking about and clearly wasn't offended. He was more bothered that they set Liam up the way they did.
Thank you for your words about the fanfiction thing. I don’t think it is disrespectful to read ff and I do like to read them. It isn’t that hard to separate fiction and reality. To be honest, I’m not really listening to Liams music but just because it isn’t really my genre not because it is bad. Also in my opinion you can’t call yourself a directioner and dislike one of the members.
I kind of get what they’re saying about the real person fanfics. Using a well-known person’s name and likeness in a fic and putting them in a fairy story is far enough removed from reality that it’s obviously not meant to be real (everyone knows they’re not real stories), so those seem harmless. I can see what they mean about the fics that use their names, likenesses, and mimic their real lives, presenting them as if they are the real Harry and Louis. That gets more gray, especially when it’s sexually charged. It’s not exactly the same thing, but if that happened to any of us where we found out that someone was writing stuff like that about us, it could be off putting. It’s not for everyone and while it’s totally fine to be okay with fanfics, I also think it’s totally fine not to be okay with them. No one is wrong for feeling how they do about it but we don’t have to agree. Liam can get a bad wrap for the interview and I agree that some people take it too far with calling him out. When he made that really nice post about Louis after the AOTV premier and people dragged him for it so he took it down. That was horrible. He didn’t deserve that treatment. To be fair to the commenter, they did say he “always” came off that way to them so you can’t assume it was just because of the interview last year. They seem to be involved enough in the fandom to listen to the boys solo music so I don’t think it’s fair to assume you know where their reasons stem from about Liam. He does have an amazing voice and it would be really cool to see him focus more on putting out new stuff. Hopefully that keeps happening. I like these videos, please keep doing them. Keep in mind you’re asking for controversial opinions and not all of these comments are meant with malicious intent. The one about hating Larries was pretty malicious but this one seemed like a (strong) personal preference and not necessarily to start problems or be rude. Maybe I’m too forgiving, I don’t know.
R.p.f meaning is Real Person Fanfiction
