Hi Tabi-e. Noticed this time you soaked your rice before cooking. A shortcut we do during outdoor camping in the mountain is to boil the water first before we put the white rice grains. But I am not sure if rice variety can affect results. Take care.

Sticky rice requires some soaking to get some of the starch off the rice. And makes it easier to cook.
