      For his act, Dronacharya is accused by secularist, communist, reformist and Ambedkarite scholars with caste slurs. But these scholars are totally ignorant about Drona’s farsightedness and his concern for the welfare of the human race. He had divine sight.
      Seeing Ekalavya as highly talented Dronacharya blessed Ekalavya to master archery without the thumb. Eklavya became expert in this method too and invented a new art of archery by index and centre fingers. From here onwards a new method of archery was born and Ekalavya was the inventor of this art which is followed by the world today and which is treated as modern art of archery.

    This has been a really interesting story so far and I can tell it's good because there are moments where I'm emotionally involved, like that poor hunter who cut off his thumb because the sage asked him to. That kind of human emotion, of choosing the happiness of family over the happiness of others is really thoughtful and while I personally find the action reprehensible, I also understand it was a completely different time. Thanks for posting this

      Dronacharya inspite of all his positive qualities is a actually a representative of the corruption in education system. He sold his gift of knowledge by flouting the commonly held traditions of the time, he denied education to deserving Karna because he only wanted to teach royal children, he killed off competition for his favorite student Arjun by asking for the thumb of Eklavya who could have gone on to become a great archer then he used his favorite student Arjun to extract revenge on a friend turned foe, Dhrupad. All of this he did to give his son Ashwatthama an unfair leg up in life. In the end at the battle of Kurukshetra, or the war of righteousness, he paid for his sins with his life with a lie told by a student whom he trusted a lot, told about a son for whom he did all this.

    But deep inside him, he'll always know who is the greatest Archer in this world.

    • @hh-zm9gr
      @hh-zm9gr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Eklavya still had one hand remaining. Arjun is also called Savvyasachi because he can shoot arrows with both hands through equal profficiency.
      Eklavya didn't master archery after incident. I don't know if you know this that Eklavya kept challenging Krishna to fight him. Finally krishna fought him and killed him
      But there krishna also fought Arjuna when a gadhrva devotee of krishna spit paan on his palm.
      And narada muni suggested him to seek arjuna's protection when krishna became angry due to spit paan. He asked arjun's protection. Arjun gave him. Later when they flund out about each otjer they became sad but had tl fight to keep their word. And they fought bit ultimately Brahma had to intervene in between to stop both because no one was winning.
      So think If we cut arjun's thumb like eklavya, he still has same proficiency woth other hand. So cool. And krishna wasn't able to defeat him . Now eklavya was defeated by krishna.
      According to my intellect, Arjun is better Archer.

Karn wasnt the bad guy but he had seemed to be so because of many reasons.. karn was there in the swayamwar with duryodhan( duryodhan wanted to marry draupadi) but he was humiliated by saying that he was a charioteer's son. Really karn suffered a very harsh life

    • @amyra8159
      @amyra8159 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Wrong, everything written here is wrong. In Panchal swayamvar the warriors were given five arrows to aim at the fish's eye. Karna was able to lift the bow, but unable to shoot four times. When he was going to shoot for the fifth time, Draupadi stopped him from taking part in the competition....yeah.... called him suta putra.... taking part instead of the groom is not acceptable in that swayamwar. That's how the whole swayamvar happened. And how Arjuna won that competition? He did his famous trick, taking all five arrows at once and targeted the aim and won the competition fairly, something no participant in that place were able to do. So don't manipulate the story just for the sake of your favourite character. People just love to make him a pitiful character, right?

      Eklavya sure but karna he plotted to burn pandavas with their mother in lac palace. I consider it cruel. He also couldn't string bow at draupadi swavamvar and after arjun won the svayamwar, karna instigated every king that how could this low caste and inferior brahamana take draupadi away.
      He along with others then attacked arjun and bheem. (Other pandavas had left). And arjuna defeated karna. Karna became surprized amd told that only shiva can defeat him and that no ordinary brahamana can. He asked who arjun is and attacked once again. Arjuna again defeated him.
      Karna also was the one who ordered duashasana to disrobe draupadi. I know, through serials everyone thinka duryodhan said it. But in actual mahabharat(Bori or KMG), clearly mentioned that karna ordered her disrobing.
      On 13th day, karna and his brother along with duryodhan his son dusshasana with his son, kritavarma kripa and ashwatthama all attacked abhimanyu and abhimamyu smashed all of them single handedly. He killed karna's brother(but in fair manner) and duryodhan son. Karna fled bit he came back and cut abhimanyu's bowstring from back. All 7 maharathi took this moment to attack on poor abhimanyu. They smashed his ratha took away his weapons amd mocked at him.
      After reading all this in real mahabharata, I can't take karna hero tragic unsung warrior of mahabharata bullshit shown by serials seriously. Because i have read original mahabharat(atleast closest to oroginal there exists in the world right now).
      Also, Eklavya kept challenging Krishna to fight him constantly. So finally krishna krishna fought him and killed him but before that granted him a boon.

    Draupadi’s sayambhar story was not told in an exact way. The major reason of Draupadi’s insulting to Karna was as Krishna told her that Karna gonna hit the fish eye and she must not accept anyone apart from Arjun as she was destined to that. I found Krishna’s role in Mahabharat as none less than a astute politician and the only reason Pandavas won Kurukkhetra war was just for the Krishna.

    It is good explanation except for the part that Eklavya was rejected by dronacharya. It was karna whom dronacharya rejected as the gurukul was given by kings hence only king's children could learn archery there. Eklavya had stolen the archery skill and thus was punished.
    People can say that this was an act of biases and nepotism, however, little they understand that those were the time where there was not intellectual property acts and copyright laws. The archery was a very skillful talent which had many secrets to it. The dhanurveda describes few of them in details which includes the very specific details of forming bow such as type of wood used how to polish the wood, ways of testing the wood, number of knots, the angle of at which bows must be fired, the types of head of bows and their different use and thousands more secrets.
    Eklavya was son of Hiranya Dhanu; who was a head of a battalion of Jarasandh army who had always been an enemy to Hastinapur. So, eklavya a potential enemy of hastinapur stole the skill of archery from hastinapur hired acharya which he might use against hastinapur one day. He had to be punished and so he was. I don't think Dronacharya did anything wrong there. He simply preserved his archery knowledge and punished a person who tried to steal it.
