I have two of them that I bought last year, and I didn't know... I was frustrated and just about to throw away these horrible dead plants but, then, by doing this, found the tubers, that kind of looked healthy. So I checked out the plant name out, looked in the internet and ...found your video. Merci :)
Great video, so helpful and informative. I have a few A. Atrovirdis bulbs now that I bought from Thailand and one on Etsy. I hope I can get them to sprout. My first one rotted - I guess too much water. I have many other Amorphopallus varieties, all do well and growing nicely. Many of my bulbs or tubers are dormant now. Can't wait to see the next video when you plant it. Thanks for sharing.
@@RootsReady I have Am. Henryi, Am Nightstick, Am. Rivieri, Am. Gordon's Gold & Leo's Song ( both Am. Konjac's ), and some cross varieties like Lewalii x Impressus. and some which names are too long to spell out here and are extremely rare. Just doing it small scale in pots as a hobby on my Condo Patio. I live in a very warm climate of South Florida and can grow them in pots all year long. Stay well, keep the video's coming !
@@RootsReady Ha Ha - Not sure Santa delivers Amorphopallus, too cold for his sleigh. Seriously, if you want a fast growing and beautiful variety, I think you would like the Am. Nightstick, it has a nice Black stem or petiole... so neat.
Thanks for the video! Mine hasn’t yellowed yet, it has the same green as before. But it is definitely drooping, should I expect this to be it preparing for winter?
The word amorphophallus comes from greek amorphos (= misshapen) and phallus (=penis) so the stress would be on the second and fourth syllable. Just info in case you care, no offense whatsoever. Great informative video :)
Thanks for the vid, I waited a bit longer so my leaf was completely gone before checking and storing it away
That's the best way to do it! I did the same with mine also

You are very welcome!! I hope yours comes back bigger and better this year
Perfect video and the perfect time, thanks! Hope you'll also do one about waking them up :)
Thank you! I will keep you posted on the progress of this plant
Thanks for the video ! I was so sad mine was dying but it was just getting ready for winter ❄️
It's the normal cycle for these plants. Keep them dry and cool during the winter and it will bounce back in the spring
This was so helpful thank you
You're so welcome!
nice vid! 💚
Thank you!!

Thank you so much! What other varieties do you have? I am new to the species and would love to have some more in my collection.

You are welcome. It sounds like it will be getting ready for dormancy soon
Interesting thankyou . Do you keep yours indoors ?
Yes I do. I haven't tried to grow it outdoors yet
