I always do the maze before I go fight Morokei. It just makes the becoming the Arch Mage thing feel a lil more... deserved. What they should have done is left the key to go fight Morokei inside the maze. Could have been in a journal Savos kept in his study, "After all this time I still can't get over what befell my fellow mages. To be sure that HE never gets out I shall hide it in Shalidor's Maze."... you know something like that... if I ever make a mod that's one I'll try to do.

In Oblivion, there were, for example, the ranks of "Dremora Scourge", "Caitiff", "Kynreeve", "Kynmarcher", "Markynaz" and "Valkynaz" I think in that order. So Valkynaz are the highest ranking of the Dremora, nothing else
So long ago, don't even think you play the game anymore but a nice hint if you miss killing all the dremora bastards is installing the "Immersive Creatures" mod, it adds all kinds of dremora to random encounters around the world.
I really wish they had included this maze in the College's story line. Even as a side mention by the librarian in the Arcanaeum (I don't remember his name) it would have been cool.
It is not even a quest, it is some sort of hidden stuff. But if you check the list of shouts and the list of unique items you will see that something is missing and where you find it. You can do that at the end of the game when you think you did everything in the game.

I was in that maze when I was quite a new player. There was a glitch where I fell into the bottom of the Skyrim map (I could see the while maze from underneath) and I couldn't fast travel for some reason. I hadn't done a save in ages so when I re-loaded to get out of the glitch I was miles away from the maze and never found my way back to it, haha :D
I don't even know how, but I became a Vampire somehow in the game. LOL Started out as a High Elf, Magick only Sorcerer and after the first area I became a Vamp....not sure how that works.

Valkynaz isn't a name, its a dremora Rank/description. he's simply a leveled character. if you were a lower level that wouldn't be a dremora but instead it would be an OP Drauger. he is in the leveld list and can be summoned by the sanguine staff
I definitely remember when i picked up the game years ago for the first time, soon after the bleak falls barrow quest I ended up in Labyrinthian and was hella scared and overwhelmed with the trolls haha

By the way, at the end where you run around the top to get the leveled shield and mace, about opposite where that alcove is there's another little alcove with a chest in it (it's the last little alcove before you run up and over the big wooden arch).
A few hours ago, I came across a small article that described the differences between a maze and a labyrinth. This would be a labyrinth as it has just one entrance and exit and there is just one route through it, whereas a maze always gives you choices of which path to follow, even if there is just one correct way through it. So weird reading that and then seeing this video. The amount of times I've ran through Labyrinthian and never came across this part.

You hyped this boss battle up like it would be ebony warrior level but I killed him in a couple swings of my Warhammer and took not even half my health. And I'm only lv 42 at the time or writing on this playthrough. Edit: Also they definitely changed this over the years because the book by the skeleton wasn't there and the Dwarven shield was an iron one, and in a different place, maybe thats why the boss was easier than you were describing it to be for me, maybe he get harder as you level up but looking at you fighting him it seems you fighting him it seemed bratty close to my fight, my fight lasted about 15 seconds, including atronauches. Edit 2: just realized you may have said that based on my level they could be good or not, I did not take into consideration you're over 2 times my level...

It's actually a glitch that the Diadem can be found there. I'm pretty sure it's not there intentially because the game designers meant for you to do this maze in order to get it. Nonetheless, I went to Froki's shack to get the diadem as well for my spellblade lol

You don't need to make vampire dust into a potion to get the invisibility; you can just straight up eat it. Alchemy ingredients all have a primary use that can be accessed immediately
So, it's not actually a maze, but a labyrinth. A maze has diverting paths (to get you lost) while a labyrinth has only one continuous path from start to finish.
You can find another diadem of the servant on a wood stump by a cabin in the rift. Cant remember the name of the guy, but he gives you a quest chain to kill guardian beasts

Hey, nice video mate, only one thing you missed (I found it by accident), at the end of the video where you are showing how to get the levelled shield, after you run past the angles wood (half roof?) on the left there's a small cairn/cave thing mirroring the one on the right, there is a chest in there with some loot in it
I'm a bit underwhelmed with this. I put this off for ages thinking it would be really difficult. It looks cool no doubt about that but... the diadem of the savant can be found outside Froki's Shack on his wood chopping block. Maybe this is hinting that Froki was an arch mage at some point but the reward can literally be found lying on the ground.
1: If you kill the boss without using magic - you get stuck in the room where you meet the boss. You have to cast a destruction spell in order to get summoned back to the normal plane. 2: The Dragon Word in the other end of the cave-room is a little bit hard to trigger - you have to find the exact spot. Took me 1-2 minutes to find it.

You can actually get the unique crown in 2 different places and have two of them it's sitting outside of Froki's shack on the wood cutter's stump just out in the open for you to take.
The Dremora Valkynaz is a high ranking officer in Mehrunes Dagons deadric army. They are equivilant to generals. Theres even higher ranked dremora known as dukes but they almost never get summoned cause they as well as Dagons royal guard are incredibly powerful beings.
You're describing Dremora Kynmarchers. A Valkynaz is the highest ranking Dremora, also known as a Dremora Prince. The Valkynaz are Dagon's Royal Guard (the Valkyn).

It's actually a glitch that the Diadem can be found there. I'm pretty sure it's not there intentially because the game designers meant for you to do this maze in order to get it. Nonetheless, I went to Froki's shack to get the diadem as well for my spellblade lol

I could just imagine this being like Meridias Beacon, when you enter you just here, "another person enters the maze"

The key to these games is to not buy it the moment it comes out. You wait for people to discover easter eggs and these little glitches then purchase it and not have to work hard to play hard.

You don't need to make vampire dust into a potion to get the invisibility; you can just straight up eat it. Alchemy ingredients all have a primary use that can be accessed immediately

So, it's not actually a maze, but a labyrinth. A maze has diverting paths (to get you lost) while a labyrinth has only one continuous path from start to finish.

You can find another diadem of the servant on a wood stump by a cabin in the rift. Cant remember the name of the guy, but he gives you a quest chain to kill guardian beasts
the dremora valkynaz is a social class of daedra and are the princes of oblivion meaning they run the most important intrests of mehrunes dagon and serve as his bodyguards.

You can actually find the Diadem of the Savant in another place, on the wood log next to Froki's Shack. It's just sitting there on the top, i first though it was just some wood.

Hey, nice video mate, only one thing you missed (I found it by accident), at the end of the video where you are showing how to get the levelled shield, after you run past the angles wood (half roof?) on the left there's a small cairn/cave thing mirroring the one on the right, there is a chest in there with some loot in it

I'm a bit underwhelmed with this. I put this off for ages thinking it would be really difficult. It looks cool no doubt about that but... the diadem of the savant can be found outside Froki's Shack on his wood chopping block. Maybe this is hinting that Froki was an arch mage at some point but the reward can literally be found lying on the ground.
1: If you kill the boss without using magic - you get stuck in the room where you meet the boss. You have to cast a destruction spell in order to get summoned back to the normal plane.
2: The Dragon Word in the other end of the cave-room is a little bit hard to trigger - you have to find the exact spot. Took me 1-2 minutes to find it.
A tip for the last 2 items, just go up that stair case and whirlwind shout across
I noticed the "Orcish Club" in that chest before you went in the maze. I've never seen it before
5+ years...first time hearing about this maze with over 1000+ hours across multiple platforms.

You can actually get the unique crown in 2 different places and have two of them

The Dremora Valkynaz is a high ranking officer in Mehrunes Dagons deadric army. They are equivilant to generals. Theres even higher ranked dremora known as dukes but they almost never get summoned cause they as well as Dagons royal guard are incredibly powerful beings.
You're describing Dremora Kynmarchers. A Valkynaz is the highest ranking Dremora, also known as a Dremora Prince. The Valkynaz are Dagon's Royal Guard (the Valkyn).
Shard of Manus The Royal Guard never get conjured into nirn though so it cant be either of those.
Solid moon They are/can be conjured into Nirn. It's far from impossible, though much, much less common than summoning of lesser Daedra or Dremora.
My friends were so shocked when I drew a knife and fork on Skyrim. That was also the day I taught then they can name there weapons. The "Shiv of shanking" and "Fork of consumption".
I never name my stuff. I brew potions of enchanting and don't have time to enchant the things AND rename it before the potion wears off.

Guys, if any of you enter the maze and see that the walls and the floor have disappeared, try disabling the Real Wildlife mod. I had this problem a few hours ago. Just wanted to share the info.

Awsome walk through but you can find dardric items from chests. I found a 1 handed sword and a great sword in a chest.
