if you are going to get heads do NOT get the EQ heads. Get the edelbrock aluminum heads. The aluminum heads run better, help reduce knock and allow for more timing/power.
Hughes sells a sweet timing chain kit with a lot of degree options. If you are planning on running the stock intake and need the ticker bottom pan hit me up you can have my old one just pay shipping.
I run the hughes air gap now and it really woke my top end up.
Also picked up a 2020 durango R/T AWD earlier this year, after you get this thing put back together, if you ever make a trip to cali we should run em side by side ;)
as soon as I find a machine shop that will bore my block out I can get my ram up and running again I will update my channel with build progress once progress starts going again.
Oh if you do decide to do heads, you would be well served to do pistons, oil pump (look up shim mod), and bearings... the stock connecting rods are solid units and good for a lot of power, but the stock cast piston is TRASH. that's what let go in my truck. A little too much timing and trying to daily a 420+hp 5.9 took out 2 pistons. I'm assuming it was spark knock that did it based on the way they let go, but these 5.9 setups don't have a knock sensor to pull back timing....Do some google fu research and there are a few companies selling knock detection systems that retard timing... I will be investing in one as soon as I can afford it...$$$ lol
Also, since doing a camshaft.... invest in a good cam degree wheel and associated tools, learn how to read cam cards, and you will save yourself some headaches. not all cams are made the same, and if you try to advance a cam that already has built in advance, you might have some piston to valve clearance issues.
    Good luck, have fun.
