Rares Macovei the overall story of ME2 really isn't the best - but the point of the game is exploring the background of your crew. That's where the good storytelling is
Mass Effect 2 is THE BEST in whole trilogy. Overall story in mass effect 2 might not seem so deep and polished, but the method of presentation and dynamic twist it was given is indeed - incredible. I've finished Mass Effect 1 - 4 times, Mass Effect 2 - 11 times and Mass Effect 3 - 2 times, my point of view is not unfounded
it does, I know. Plus it's hard to get your thoughts out effectively in the comments section. I just finished ME3 and I'd rather they figured out how to wrap it all up with 2. ME3 just really ground my gears for a list of reasons that would literally break TH-cam if I tried to get them all in. I won't ruin the website for the rest of the world :)
Christopher Sadlowski well, third part gave me terrible salty taste after drinking bad wine. Read some of the Mass Effect books, they cannot be compared to writing of Anjey Sapkowski or Dan Abnett masterpieces, but still they are much better then the third concluding part of ME3. Do you actually know that there was another scenario created by old author for the third part? Dont know why, but when they nearly finished it, office desided to get rid of old author and old scenario and remade it from the begining (thus doomed concluding part to its terrible plot and huge amounts of atmosphere and game breaking effects)
i would love to have the gameplay mechanics from ME3 in ME2 (minus the conversation system that was dumbed down for me3) but the cover and shooting was greatly improved for the 3 installment
Same here man. I mean the ending wasn't as great as it could have been, but it's not like all the possible endings concluded with the Reapers winning and the whole galaxy just died. I think there was WAY more hate directed at this game than there should have been :P
Yeah the ending was weak but I agree it still made sense within the rules of the universe it's set in so as long as it does that then it' s acceptable. I don' t think I'd still be playing the game if it wasn't like that.
Overall this was a very nice game and remains as one of my favorite games of all time. The ending was regular, but not bad as many people keep saying....
mass effects 1, 2, and 3 are my favorite games of all time. I really hope they make a remastered trilogy for current gen. And it would sick if you could pick your race in me4 I'd love to be a turian or a krogan
I think by fitting finale, he meant the entire game as a whole...just pointing that out. To top it off, the game has been fleshed out by a ridiculous amount since then. They made the EC AND still produced all the DLC they wanted to get done for ME3. Not to mention the 5 packs for MP. Vanilla ME3, while very good, makes you appreciate the new and improved Mass Effect 3 we have now. Just like how Zaeed, FW, Kasumi, LotSB, Overlord, and Arrival enhanced ME2
“It will certainly be in the conversation for the foreseeable future.” Oh, oh, how true that came out to be. Aged like fine wine because people are still talking about that ending
Don't get me wrong I love all three games. Personally ME 3 is my least favorite. ME 2 being my favorite. As soon as this game started I was worried. I kept getting into conversations and thinking, "where is my dialogue options? I wouldn't have said that." That's what's wrong with ME 3 they took a lot of the choice away from us. Hopefully Andromeda takes the good parts of ME 3. The presentation, more mobility, and better music. Then gives it the charm and choice of ME 2. Also if I can't holster my gun in ME:A I might kill someone lol.
ME 2 was absolutely amazing...But I felt like 3 was the best not sure why maybe because of the finale of the trilogy with a intense story line and buildup. It just captured me...I think it is because they sort of wanted to lead people to a similar track towards the end where as in the second game they had more options to allow more diverse interaction into the third game. Third game is the last one so any choices made wouldn't affect any other sequel....
I like how people cried out furiously about the ending of this game because choice did not matter, yet people were totally fine with the endin of The Walking Dead, where your choices did not affect the ending in any way at all :P
I was certainly NOT fine with The Walking Dead's ending. I actually found that "game" to be really kind of silly. I wrote a review of it at www.AlwaysLateGameReviews.weebly.com. if you'd care to read my opinions on it any why I rated it so low...and now that I just finished Mass Effect 3 and will begin the review process I fear it's not going to score quite what I would have hoped I could give it.
***** I think the issue now is that choice heavy games don't have to suck. A big development company has more than enough resources to provide quality writing and presentation. I think it's the unrealistic development cycles that has created a lot of substandard titles. Complacency won't do anything to promote change. Just accepting the lazy, rushed products will destroy the industry creating a situation where video games stagnate and wither on the vine.
***** Yeah EA rushed Bioware into making it a Cash Cow of a AAA title instead of them letting take there time and finish it properly. The Choices aside most are upset about the fact that you get Krogans and Turians working together, peace with Geth and Quarians just to kill them any way with Destroy Ending. Would personally have liked the Dark Energy idea as a way of Ending Reapers, Shep Battles Harby whilst Hackett and Anderson fires the cruciable at Rest of Reapers - yes similar to 1 and 2.
Scootybum Whelan The whole last chapter when you are on earth is just awful. I felt the same way as you when playing 2 after playing 1 but no part of 2 was actually awful just not as good as 1.
The extended cut fixed the ending in my opinion. When I first played ME3 it was with Citadel, Leviathan, and the Extended Cut. I was immensely satisfied with the end. Extended Cut really does help, as it shows you the consequences of your actions and what happens after you beat it ie; a krogan baby if you cured the genophage, or the quarians and the geth working together. Like I said, I was very happy with how the game turned out. If I played when I first released then I would probably have a different opinion, but that is not the case.
It becomes more than pretty good if you play the first two games, and then import your saved data to ME3. You'll grow to love the characters like real people, and trust me on this one, the game becomes immensely more powerful. Playing ME3 first is like reading part 3 of a 3 part book first, like reading Return of the King and ignoring Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers. So yeah, I strongly recommend you play the first two.
"Mass Effect 3 isn't the best game ever made, but it will certainly be in the conversation for the foreseeable future" Well, at least he got one thing right...
Mass Effect,in my opinion the best game series ever (and I don´t think anythin will beat it). The story, the characters, the galaxy, the races, the lore, the music, the desicions, the protagonist and the epic mission´s are all factors that make this series the best for ME.ANd I hope ME:A will continue this epicness :-)
Some people call Dark Souls the best trilogy of last gen, some people call Bioshock the best trilogy or Uncharted. Personally, I'd say Mass Effect is easily the best trilogy of last gen.
Well even though they added the extended cut dlc, it still doesn't quite make up for the fact that they fucked up the game with original ending. EA just can't do trilogies anymore. Crysis 3, Dead space 3 and more importantly Mass Effect 3 have failed to live up to their previous games.
Mass effect 3 certainly has. It is easily better than the first one and is just as good as the second. Why because everything about ME3 is better than ME2 except the final 5-10 minutes of the game which also isnt terrible but it isnt amazing either. A game of the year game certainy isnt failing to live up to previous titles. Just look at how many game of the year awards this game got.
there was absolutely nothing wrong with the ending. Wow, people need to get over the fact sometimes "happy endings" aren't with puppies and kittens. What pissed me off was being completely lost in the story in the beginning. I had to have the DLCs to know what was going on? That's BS, they should have developed it further like they did in 2. The whole game was so unpolished and rushed. Way bigger fish to fry than *SPOILER ALERT* "I don't like Shepard dies."
P Murphy I don't care about happy endings (I'm a massive dark souls fan, enough said!) but the fact is that most of your choices didn't even matter in the end, plus they made you play online multiplayer to get a good ending, and they made you choose your own ending witch was the last straw for me! Also nerdcubed does a great video on mass effect! Look it up! *Also praise the mother fucking sun!!*
If you killed wrex hes not in it. All the characters that died in the ending of the second also wont be in this game. Thats only some of it. You must not have played all three games then and only looked at videos of the ending.
Sean James I played all three games and your choices are NOT fully realized. The characters from the first two games pop up here and there but ultimately they're auxiliary. Actually, with the lackluster ending almost none of your choices amount to much. After spending hours collecting this huge army I never got to see it in full effect. I have to say overall I found ME3 to be uninspired and with the ending that doesn't even bother to give you some text, like BioWare did in Dragon Age: Origins, explanation about what all these crew members you become so attached to really cuts deep. All we got was some slides of our former crew but we don't get to know what they did with their lives? It all felt pointless after a while. There's SO much I could complain about besides the story but I'm not going to. It'd take far to much time...
Christopher Sadlowski As said depends who you save from each game that is ported I.e. Wrex, Virmire Survivor, Rachni Queen in 1. As if you or Ash kill Wrex 1 then your clan leader is his Brood Brother Wreav who after killing the Reaper and curing the Genophage is more interested in fighting everyone. From 2 depends who survived suicide mission and choices on loyalty mission Mordin uses Maelons data to cure Genophage, Grunt is now team leader, Thane dies in saving salarian council member instead of Kirrahe, You don't met Garrus on Palavan there main ones. Known fact that EA rushed Bioware to making it to compete with other AAA game titles then tried to fix things with DLC
Besides the crappy ending, mass effect trilogy was enjoyable to play 10/10 or 9.5/10 if you include the ending...hopefully next mass effect you will be able to explore most planets in the galaxy....
***** What I enjoy most of it is the journey,so I could care less how the ending would turn out to be as long as it was a good ending....I heard a little of the ending before I gotten mass effect3 so it dint gave me a bad experience, actually I enjoyed more knowing that he died but dint know how or who and when exactly...
Nick Vanadium The biggest problem for Mass effect 3's ending in my opinion is that they bragged about 16 endings, when theres really only 3 (which are pretty much the same ending re coloured)
The story, the characters, the awesome combat, the way you form your own story, how your choices matter, the cinematic direction, how you choose who to romance, the customization of gear and powers etc It really is a fantastic seies, and do not let the ending of the third game prevent you from playing all three games! They are right up there with Bioshock and Uncharted as the greatest franchises of last gen
Most of all their story and characters. You can build your own story and import the save from one game to an other, so decisions made in the first game will have concequences even in the third one.
I just picked this game up at gamestop 2 days ago, so far the cut scenes are glitchy/laggy and the characters are pretty boring. The whole game seems pretty dysfunctional imo. Some of the weapons sound cool, but id rather play kingdoms of amalur for now :)
Good to know it has a well deserved + for a fitting finale. I mean, what better way to end this trilogy than a ghost child to come troll you at the end? That is exactly what I wanted.
I'm so happy I found this series. None of my friends have played and it's their loss. Whether ME1, 2, or 3 is your favorite doesn't matter. Because whatever one you love the most you love because it's fucking awesome! And it's fucking awesome in comparison to the other two which are fucking awesome as well! Btw I LOVED me3 but me2 was my fav :)
To me, the whole point of Mass Effect isn't the ending. Sure, it could have been better, but the whole universe of the game is so complete and has so many things to explore that it's mind-boggling. I was so immersed in the game that, by the time I finished it, I couldn't care how it ended. I had such a good time playing it... I have to replay it as soon as possible!
Mass Effect 3 was a masterpiece in storytelling, and although it didn't have a perfect ending, it still is a great conclusion to the series and with the Extended Cut I am for sure gonna play this game again!
this series, is a masterpiece, and my pick for best game ever made, closely followed by Red Dead Redemption 2. 9 years later and I still absolutely love the story. and everything works well to tell it.
Pleeease get all 3 of them, this is one of the best trilogy's if not the best of all time. The series made me cheer in excitement, laugh numerous times and even cry. Don't deny yourself this amazing experience.
Triton K175 The *original* ending was nothing but a pallet swap of 3 colors. Destroy = Red ending Control = Blue ending Synergy = Green ending The Director's Cut made it bearable, but it won't change the fact that the endings originally released were a joke.
As good as Mass Effect 1 is, I'm inclined to say that you are one of the few. The first game was revolutionary at the time, but it hasn't aged very well. For someone like me who likes to go out and explore every inch of the galaxy, it feels like a chore in ME1. All the planets feel the same and I nearly fell asleep roaming one of the barren wastelands in the Mako. The combat is also kind of dated, and when there's a lot of it, it becomes a bit tiresome. The texture pop-in and frame rate issues aren't even that big of a deal for me, but when coupled with the other problems the game has, they tend to stand out more. The more I play ME1, the more I want to play either the second or third installments. Don't get me wrong, I love all three games, and I don't think that ME3's ending is bad at all (post-Extended Cut, that is), and I don't think ME1 isn't worth playing. What I DO think is that ME1 isn't the best game in the trilogy. That title, for me, goes to Mass Effect 2, with the finale as a close second.
***** My real issue with mass effect 2 and 3 is that the area's that you visited felt like small hubs. The citadel is a prime example, in the first game it was huge with multiple levels with varying locations, where as in 2 it was a small hub. Whilst mass effect 2 improved in loads of areas, that being character interaction and combat and hell, it pains me to say this, better plot pacing , things like exploration felt, at least to me, felt dull. Half of the planets you visit are basically arena's where you have to kill off some enemies here and there whilst hiding behind conveniently placed chest high walls. Only a few of the areas you visit are interesting like that ship that had a rogue A.I. Mass effect 2 needed to address problems that plagued the first game, and when addressed, it would of elevated it above mass effect 1, planet exploration, vehicle sequences, shop and inventory system, yet they decided to scrap this and over simplified things. Having only 3 weapons varieties for your weapons for me made combat feel boring after a while( assault rifles for example only had 3 variants, the standard mass effect rifle, a burst firing rifle and a heavy machine gun variant). Also instead of refining vehicles in the game, they opted instead to replace it with a really, REALLY tedious scanning mini game.( im not counting the hammer head since that only came as DLC). Maybe it's because i'm too nostalgic about mass effect 1 but it is to me my favourite game. The atmosphere in the game cant be described and is unmatched by its sequels. I dont deny mass effect 2 having better combat, better character interactions and a better plot that is the main integral focus of the game, i just dont hold it as high as the first game. Still love it though. Mass effect 3....i dislike that game for a whole lot of reasons, and it has hardly anything to do with the game.
MrNuclearturtle You know, I actually agree with some of your points, those being the limitations of weapon usage based on class and cutting down on weapon types. I also think that the scanning wasn't all that much of an improvement over planet exploration in the first game, but what saved it for me is the fact that scanning and gathering materials actually mattered in the game. Not upgrading the Normandy led to disastrous results, both short and long-term. It also didn't feel AS tedious as the first game to me, because the second had better pacing, combat, story, character interaction, visuals, and polish, as we both agree. If we really wanted to, we could skip all of ME1's side exploration and we would still have roughly the same outcome at the end of the trilogy. Besides a cameo or two, exploration almost feels like an afterthought in the first game. However, I do concede that what replaced exploration in ME2 did turn it into the arena that you described it as. But again, the relevance of these locations is what saves it for me. Mind if I ask why you don't like the finale?
***** My dislike for mass effect 3 comes more from EA's acquisition of bioware. EA are always known for rushing developers to get the game out the the door, and as a result the game suffers from it. I mean, look at dragon age 2, the game came out only a year and a half after the first dragon age, it was terrible. Now this comparison doesn't mean i hold mass effect 3 in the same regard as dragon age 2, in fact i feel the game has some major improvements over the first game. The shooting is the best in the series and the levelling up mechanic, whilst really streamlined, allows the player to experiment with their own character build, so rather than giving the player a choice between two abilities near the end of levelling up that feat, the player is able to choose that perk near every intersection of levelling up. I also like that they try to spice up the mundane planet scanning with there being a risk to it, the more you collect resources, the more the reapers are aware However, to me everything else just doesnt hold up nearly as well, the dialogue system just feels so bare bones here, with most conversations being on auto pilot, and giving the player literally at points, two dialogue responses, good or bad. The game also feels like it is trying WAY to hard to cater to the gears of war crowd, with literally every conversation or character interaction being followed up with fight with one or two enemy varieties, with waves coming at you rather than fight a squad. Also the enemy roster is really small, most of the time you're fighting either Cerberus troops or some form of reaper enemies. At least in mass effect 2 there was some variety as you were fighting fighting different types of mercenary groups, or individual private security groups, even though you can argue they're all reskins. Oh and having a character, you know, central to the games lore only being available as dlc is bull. Everything about the game felt rushed, and there is more in line with EA fault rather than bioware. Not to say that bioware is fully a saint.
You say it is the best game of the trilogy... But you gave this a 9.5 whereas you gave Mass effect 2 a 9.6. Yes i realize that is a very small difference, but still makes your statement invalid.
Mass Effect 3 was good, but IMO ME2 was so much better. For example, having to go to the citadel so many times was a chore. At least ME2 had places like omega too. And collecting war assets only to return to the citadel again and find the relevant person was so annoying.
I wouldn't recommend playing ME3 before at least playing ME2. But if you really want the true experience, start with the first one and go from there. They are pretty cheap now
what carries over from an imported me2 save? choice wise? will all my me2 choices actually be reflected in me3 like how in the end of me2 i chose to basically say gtfo to illusive man? etc
Let's say I buy this on origin. What happens next? Is it in my steam library, do I have to activate it with a key, will it work because ea no longer allows games on steam? Also, will I be able to import my me2 character? I'm very sceptical of g2a because of how cheap their games are. Can someone please inform me on my questions?
I bought Tomb Raider (2013) off Origin and, weirdly enough, the game only worked with Steam. I then had to redeem the game key (that I got off Origin) on Steam. The game can only be launched via Steam, however, it appears in my Origin game library, too. It's pretty weird, to be honest. :) It might be the same case with Mass Effect? I don't know.
have you played all 3 endings? because if you have youll know that they don't just "change the colour of the explosion" they change alot about the story
Experiment. if your not sure which class to pick, start off with the soldier. I personally enjoy being the engineer but with soldier you can use any gun you want, grenades, you'd be safe with the soldier if your just getting into the series
It's been established that it takes weeks for indoctrination to take hold on someone. Shepard was only prominently near Reaper influence when he was inside the derelict reaper, which wasn't for very long. Without Shepard, the fleet would lose hope. It seems illogical for Harbinger to just sit there and "indoctrinate" Shepard while he's unconscious while the rest of Hammer team approaches the conduit. Evidently the time frame wasn't very long, otherwise the troops wouldn't have retreated then
I agree with the fitting finale point. ME3 had you doing things that the entire series had a build up to. The ending may not have been satisfactory but honestly the ending shouldn't overshadow the experience.
Part of my point, though, is that anyone paying moderate attention to the ending should be able to notice these things. I'm not even nitpicking anything.
It isn't actually all life, but rather all species involved in galactic civilization. They leave primitive species alone, let them develop, and then harvest them at the apex of their power.
I do agree that the plot gets a little convoluted at times but on the whole the side missions were fun and it's nice seeing old party members like Jack and Grunt
The universe may be grand, but it revolves around the Reaper conflict. With that concluded there's nothing left to tell in the grand scheme of things. The universe can be explored through spin-offs in comic books or novels, similar to what Star Wars does, not through a full-fledged sequel. A prequel or even a game that runs concurrent with the trilogy would be better than something that takes place after the trilogy has been concluded.
A little bit yes. Once you have enough paragon/renegade, some conversations will have new, better choices for you to pick. For example, you might have to pick between 2 rewards in a conversation, but if you have enough paragon/renegade, you can pick another option to get both.
They mentioned from the start that it was a trilogy. The reapers were indeed coming, do you think they will stop halfway? Shepard foiled their plans TWICE, they had to invade
I did find it strange that I didn't get to make the decisions I made in first two in the 3rd one. But when they had the Dialogue circle, it seemed even more important than the previous games.
Because Mass Effect 1 and 2 were TOTALLY setting up for . . . absolutely no final boss fight tougher than Marauder Shields, a complete and utter lack of dialogue from Shepard's true nemesis, Harbinger, the Illusive Man randomly deciding that keeping Reaper tech next to his office is a good idea considering how much Cerberus has been burned by Reaper tech before and a genre defying magical starchild who is introduced in the last few minutes and justifies the Reapers with insane circular logic.
Sometimes, people forget just how great Mass Effect really is...
They saw the endings and automatically decided the other 85% of the game that was good didn't matter and called it crap.
+KendylTV mass effect andromeda is gonna be game of the decade for eternity.
+Christop The illusive Man Agreed. BioWare know what they're doing and I have been dying for an open world ME for ages. Just hope it's executed well and the exploration actually feels rewarding (not exactly Fallout/Skyrim-esque, but DAI didn't do exploration well either).

Nithin Ravi Yeah, these comments have not aged well. Let this be a reminder the even the most promising of games can be ruined by EA
Mass Effect 1- Best story and atmosphere
Mass Effect 2- Best missions and characters
Mass Effect 3- Best gameplay and graphics.
so true!
I wouldn't say ME3 has the "best" gameplay as it strips away many gameplay features from the first and even the second game. You're looking for "smooth".

ME2 is the best out there
I dunno, the gameplay is no where near as entertaining in 2 and the story has less of an impact on the galactic community
The story is boring? Generic? What?
Rares Macovei the overall story of ME2 really isn't the best - but the point of the game is exploring the background of your crew. That's where the good storytelling is

Mass Effect 2 is THE BEST in whole trilogy. Overall story in mass effect 2 might not seem so deep and polished, but the method of presentation and dynamic twist it was given is indeed - incredible. Atmosphere in Mass Effect 2 can not be compared with 1st and 3rd Mass Effects for following reasons:

4) Fast phase and extremely well delivered dialogues/voice acting (As always, Bioware proves that it is the best in voice acting and dialogues delivery apartment)
5) Dynamic and story driven events (Do you know how DIFFICULT it is to combine such action and story in one beautiful sequence? No, you don't, so far this is the best I've seen in gaming)

I could continue writing about it for hour, but believe me, I tell you this for a good reason, Mass Effect 2 is THE BEST game in whole trilogy.
p.s. I've finished Mass Effect 1 - 4 times, Mass Effect 2 - 11 times and Mass Effect 3 - 2 times, my point of view is not unfounded
I couldn't have said this better myself! Well done!

it does, I know. Plus it's hard to get your thoughts out effectively in the comments section. I just finished ME3 and I'd rather they figured out how to wrap it all up with 2.
+Crimson Gamer They"ve simplified everything;you do;nt even have a map of the Places you fight in,no waypointer etc
The gun holstering was one of my biggest problems
ME 2 was absolutely amazing...But I felt like 3 was the best not sure why maybe because of the finale of the trilogy with a intense story line and buildup. It just captured me...I think it is because they sort of wanted to lead people to a similar track towards the end where as in the second game they had more options to allow more diverse interaction into the third game. Third game is the last one so any choices made wouldn't affect any other sequel....
ME3 is my favorite of all 3.
Talon
I like how people cried out furiously about the ending of this game because choice did not matter, yet people were totally fine with the endin of The Walking Dead, where your choices did not affect the ending in any way at all :P
I was certainly NOT fine with The Walking Dead's ending. I actually found that "game" to be really kind of silly. I wrote a review of it at www.AlwaysLateGameReviews.weebly.com. if you'd care to read my opinions on it any why I rated it so low...and now that I just finished Mass Effect 3 and will begin the review process I fear it's not going to score quite what I would have hoped I could give it.
i hated mass effect and the walking dead
but at least the walking dead 2 got 3 diffrent endings XD
man but games with choices suck
DEAL WITH IT
***** I think the issue now is that choice heavy games don't have to suck. A big development company has more than enough resources to provide quality writing and presentation. I think it's the unrealistic development cycles that has created a lot of substandard titles. Complacency won't do anything to promote change. Just accepting the lazy, rushed products will destroy the industry creating a situation where video games stagnate and wither on the vine.
indeed
***** Yeah EA rushed Bioware into making it a Cash Cow of a AAA title instead of them letting take there time and finish it properly. The Choices aside most are upset about the fact that you get Krogans and Turians working together, peace with Geth and Quarians just to kill them any way with Destroy Ending.
Would personally have liked the Dark Energy idea as a way of Ending Reapers, Shep Battles Harby whilst Hackett and Anderson fires the cruciable at Rest of Reapers - yes similar to 1 and 2.
Now Backwards Compatible with the first two.
and 3rd
"We can proudly say no one will be disappointed" Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa
Scootybum Whelan The whole last chapter when you are on earth is just awful. I felt the same way as you when playing 2 after playing 1 but no part of 2 was actually awful just not as good as 1.
I wasn't disappointed
I was not disappointed. Awesome game.
If non of you were disappointed with the "pick a colour ending" then you must have very low standards
If I played when I first released then I would probably have a different opinion, but that is not the case.
fitting finale my ass
agreed lol
It becomes more than pretty good if you play the first two games, and then import your saved data to ME3. You'll grow to love the characters like real people, and trust me on this one, the game becomes immensely more powerful. Playing ME3 first is like reading part 3 of a 3 part book first, like reading Return of the King and ignoring Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers.
So yeah, I strongly recommend you play the first two.
Mass effect 2>3. I feel like 2 had a lot more to explore. 3 seems limited. Characters don't seem as interesting either
This Is better than new Andromeda,
Sad but true.
i love andromeda but this is true
"A worthy end to the trilogy." Yeah, I guess IGN had to pay back Bioware after their cameo of Jessica Chobot.
I just completed Mass Effect 3, and I gotta say, truly AWESOME! It has got me so pumped up about ME1 and ME2. THE best gaming trilogy ever!
Ha me too
+Sharod Abdullah 100 % agreed m8
You played the last game first?
why tf did you play the last game first
@@alphathelema7268because of better gameplay. Not everyone is a story order geek in video games lmao
5:21 Fitting Finale?! The game is great and deserves 9.5 but, FITTING FINALE?!
It's not bad
"Mass Effect 3 isn't the best game ever made, but it will certainly be in the conversation for the foreseeable future"
Well, at least he got one thing right...
14 likes and no replies?! "FINE, I'll do it myself"
Agreed! ME is the greatest series of games ever. I've lost count of how many times I've played through each of the games.
+N7-Spectre hell to ride is better
***** Ahaha, them Coincidences though :D I´ve seen you on that shitty RB6 Review from IGN,haha.
Some people call Dark Souls the best trilogy of last gen, some people call Bioshock the best trilogy or Uncharted.
Personally, I'd say Mass Effect is easily the best trilogy of last gen.
Story you might be right, gameplay wise it’s far from the best and 3 ruined the series
Bioshock Ftw!!!
Well even though they added the extended cut dlc, it still doesn't quite make up for the fact that they fucked up the game with original ending. EA just can't do trilogies anymore. Crysis 3, Dead space 3 and more importantly Mass Effect 3 have failed to live up to their previous games.
Yeah dude they really fuck Dead Space. The plot doesn't make any sense and they tried to make it appeal to all.
Sean James But the game was more of an action game rather then an RPG. None of your decisions mattered in ME3.
there was absolutely nothing wrong with the ending.
Way bigger fish to fry than
*SPOILER ALERT*
"I don't like Shepard dies."
"fully realises the choices you made in the two previous games".
I think not
If you killed wrex hes not in it.
Crap ending aside, this review is fairly accurate.
Does the Mass Effect trilogy on Origin contain all the DLC?
no it doesn't you have to buy ME3's DLC separately it does have all of ME1's and some of ME2'sbut none of 3's
ME2 is till my favorite in the series. those loyalty missions are brilliant! they really make you care about those characters.
Please make a PS4 HD trilogy of Mass Effect + all DLC.
Don't forget Xbox ONE. Plus, it should be 1080p HD and 60 fps.
Your wish has been granted
I still think mass effect 2 was the best of the 3
Anybody here after BioWare announced the Mass Effect Legendary edition?
It is £2.49 on Origin right now
Ive never played any mass effect games, but whats so great about them?
The story, the characters, the awesome combat, the way you form your own story, how your choices matter, the cinematic direction, how you choose who to romance, the customization of gear and powers etc
It really is a fantastic seies, and do not let the ending of the third game prevent you from playing all three games!
Moon Man Did you pick this or the first, because you need to play them in order. BTW amalur is great
I picked the third one up. It was only 6 bucks, so i thought why not. But yeah, i picked up koa too, and its pretty good so far.
Good to know it has a well deserved + for a fitting finale. I mean, what better way to end this trilogy than a ghost child to come troll you at the end? That is exactly what I wanted.
How is this the best of the bunch when you guys gave Mass Effect 2
a higher rating?
I'm so happy I found this series. None of my friends have played and it's their loss. Whether ME1, 2, or 3 is your favorite doesn't matter. Because whatever one you love the most you love because it's fucking awesome! And it's fucking awesome in comparison to the other two which are fucking awesome as well!
Btw I LOVED me3 but me2 was my fav :)
"Fitting Finale"
im playing the third one right now, should i play the first 2 aswell or is at a seperate story?
Pascal Teunisse You should play 1, 2 and then three. Your screwing yourself by not playing them in order.
Don't think of them as three different games but as a whole in three episodes. And you started with episode 3. So yea,,,, you messed up.
hohoho "Fitting Finale"he's going to regret those words dearly
The best 3 games of all time hands down
I didnt have any glitches bugs ir graphical pop ins when i played it
+Jake jones IKR neither did i
To me, the whole point of Mass Effect isn't the ending. Sure, it could have been better, but the whole universe of the game is so complete and has so many things to explore that it's mind-boggling. I was so immersed in the game that, by the time I finished it, I couldn't care how it ended. I had such a good time playing it... I have to replay it as soon as possible!
Im waiting for a PS4 Port of the trilogy .
Before delving into this further, are you referring to the extended cut or the original endings? Not that it matters much…
yeah I'm gonna go with ME2 as the best....
Pleeease get all 3 of them, this is one of the best trilogy's if not the best of all time. The series made me cheer in excitement, laugh numerous times and even cry. Don't deny yourself this amazing experience.
"We can proudly say no one will be disappointed"
They must not have watched the ending.
I didn't mind the ending. To be fair to BioWare, there was so much hype that no matter what they chose people were going to be pissed.
Triton K175 The *original* ending was nothing but a pallet swap of 3 colors.
Destroy = Red ending
Control = Blue ending
Synergy = Green ending
The Director's Cut made it bearable, but it won't change the fact that the endings originally released were a joke.
Grand Priest Still, you can't let 10 minutes ruin a 30+ hour game.
What is the name of the song that plays at the begging before he begins speaking? i cant find it anywhere.
oh how dare they compare this to fallout 3 mass effect was way to linear
lol falllout 3 is 10000000x better
acthelione123 true that
fallout 3 got game of the yeaer so nobody can argue
acthelione123 ya and when fallout 4 comes out it might earn game of the decade. sure felt like fallout 3 was
it was i think and idk if there will be a fallout 4
Am one of the few people who thinks mass effect 1 trumps this game?
I also like that they try to spice up the mundane planet scanning with there being a risk to it, the more you collect resources, the more the reapers are aware
However, to me everything else just doesnt hold up nearly as well, the dialogue system just feels so bare bones here, with most conversations being on auto pilot, and giving the player literally at points, two dialogue responses, good or bad.
***** if it was not for the planet scanning ME 2 would be hands down the best game i have ever played
This game isn't as great as Mass Effect 2. No way near as great as Mass Effect 2. But it's still a good game, but it's kind of disappointing.
+Christiaan Fick people just hated it for the ending, but it's not about the destination, it's about the journey
17, was 14 when I first played the original mass effect and was there for the release of 2nd. There a reason to question or just a curiosity?
You say it is the best game of the trilogy... But you gave this a 9.5 whereas you gave Mass effect 2 a 9.6.
Yes i realize that is a very small difference, but still makes your statement invalid.
Me2 review was done by a different guy
Nope, uncharted is the best trilogy
Angelo Ladera nah
Angelo Ladera it isn't a trilogy if it has 4 games
Uncharted is just overrated.
There is one thing that they missed the X or A button depending on what console is how you interact with every thing even cover
I was thinking of buying this game but I need to know, is there enough action in the game because quite a lot of it seems to be cut scenes
All Mass Effects were good. ME2 was more about your squad members, ME3 was more diplomatic, and ME1 was more about chasing the bad guys.
Does gameplay count anymore??????
lol fitting finale
it was
Mass Effect 3 was good, but IMO ME2 was so much better. For example, having to go to the citadel so many times was a chore. At least ME2 had places like omega too.
And collecting war assets only to return to the citadel again and find the relevant person was so annoying.
So may years later….still the most epic trilogy ever in the medium.
Can I get the story ME3 if I haven't played 1 and 2?
I wouldn't recommend playing ME3 before at least playing ME2. But if you really want the true experience, start with the first one and go from there. They are pretty cheap now
what carries over from an imported me2 save? choice wise? will all my me2 choices actually be reflected in me3 like how in the end of me2 i chose to basically say gtfo to illusive man? etc
should i play as sentinel or adept for my insanity run?
"successfully wrapping up..." gimme a break.
Loved the scene where Kaidan and MShepard said their goodbyes.
Bull Sheet me too 😢😢
As I am not familiar with the Mass Effect-franchise, I would like to know if this game is an open world-game or a more "narrow" one?
It might be the same case with Mass Effect? I don't know.
I hope they remaster the trilogy for the next gen consoles!
Will I be missing out on anything if I buy a used copy of this game?
have you played all 3 endings? because if you have youll know that they don't just "change the colour of the explosion" they change alot about the story
Experiment. if your not sure which class to pick, start off with the soldier. I personally enjoy being the engineer but with soldier you can use any gun you want, grenades, you'd be safe with the soldier if your just getting into the series
Is Origin a must if you want to play Mass Effect 3 multiplayer?
It's been established that it takes weeks for indoctrination to take hold on someone. Shepard was only prominently near Reaper influence when he was inside the derelict reaper, which wasn't for very long. Without Shepard, the fleet would lose hope. It seems illogical for Harbinger to just sit there and "indoctrinate" Shepard while he's unconscious while the rest of Hammer team approaches the conduit. Evidently the time frame wasn't very long, otherwise the troops wouldn't have retreated then
where did you bring them to?
What do you mean multiplayer is part of the single player? And why wouldn't multiplayer DLCs work?
Is Mass effect 3 worth buying if i havent played mass effect 1 and 2 ?
Diana Allers, reporter, you meet her the first time you go to the Citadel. You can choose to take her on board
I agree with the fitting finale point. ME3 had you doing things that the entire series had a build up to. The ending may not have been satisfactory but honestly the ending shouldn't overshadow the experience.
"Fitting finale" i guess it depends on what you were expecting
I'am never play mass effect 1 and 2. Can i jump to this game ???
U all are complaining about the ending, but how many of u are playing their second walkthrough? :D
The moment he said it has a worthy ending the moment went FFFFFFUUUU
A little bit yes. Once you have enough paragon/renegade, some conversations will have new, better choices for you to pick. For example, you might have to pick between 2 rewards in a conversation, but if you have enough paragon/renegade, you can pick another option to get both.
That was before Cerberus began using Reaper tech.
They mentioned from the start that it was a trilogy. The reapers were indeed coming, do you think they will stop halfway? Shepard foiled their plans TWICE, they had to invade
We need a Mass Effect trilogy PS4 remaster please !
you got your wish
I did find it strange that I didn't get to make the decisions I made in first two in the 3rd one. But when they had the Dialogue circle, it seemed even more important than the previous games.
All advanced life. In other words, life that has achieved space travel.
Because Mass Effect 1 and 2 were TOTALLY setting up for . . . absolutely no final boss fight tougher than Marauder Shields, a complete and utter lack of dialogue from Shepard's true nemesis, Harbinger, the Illusive Man randomly deciding that keeping Reaper tech next to his office is a good idea considering how much Cerberus has been burned by Reaper tech before and a genre defying magical starchild who is introduced in the last few minutes and justifies the Reapers with insane circular logic.
i am thinking about picking this up for wii u but can some one tell me how is the exploration in the game
Why would anyone dislike this video? It's an honest review.
