Honestly, Ban's story is always the saddest to me, I can understand the feeling of not being good enough, and it is such a great thing to see you capture his true hardships and struggle.

This is my favorite song of daddyphatsnaps because besides just being an overall amazing song you could also use it as an allegory for fame. Immortality is fame and when you think about it that way the line "thought I wanted immortality all I really wanted was a change in my reality" just hits different.

Tbh, I'm not saying Ban's story isn't sad or anything, but Meliodas' story is much sadder. He's forced to live forever, watch his one true lover die over and over again, only to be reborn as someone who won't remember him, and each time he "dies" he's resurrected and forced to live as what he use to be. Meliodas is forced to watch as everyone he knows dies around him, and worst of all, his own lover.
I understand why u think that meliodas back story is sadder but ban has to live whith the idea that his love could have survived if he didnt attackes the demon and if she dindnt gave the fountain to him she would haved lived
i don't understand why we're comparing them they are indeed both sad but if i had to choose which was the saddest i would choose ban the reason being because ban like the rap said all he wanted was a change in his reality not immortality if he had not went to the fountain of youth elanie would still be alive then he had the greatest trial/challenge he was faced with a decision Kill his one and only best friend and get to see his lover once more or let his lover stay dead forever.Also if u havent you should probably check out nux taku because he explained more in detail(-ish) how and why Ban story is sad.(not sure what vid when i find it ima edit this comment and put the link (i'm not the only person who noticed ban has his "father" clothes on) Mel on the other hand had to suffer quite a lot dealing with the constant death of Elizabeth(that part where you said each time he dies he's forced to live as he once did didn't make sense seeing as no one was his rival during pretty much the entire series). Mel didn't really have a choice when he was prince he legit said that in the manga when he was talking to zeldris(i won't spoil anything that the anime has not covered).I understand when you said he's forced to watch everyone around him die but we haven't actually see this happen we only saw this happen with Liz that's it we haven't seen him get close to anyone and then watch them die.
