@@thomasnovacek4686 TBH, it would appear that there is no definitive crocodile locomotive as such the term from early stages appearing to define a particular form of articulation, for example the most well known being the Ce swiss crocodile, the 1100 austrian crocodile, and of course the German crocs. However one could easily add things like the Kpev E42, E70 etc, those little rhaetanbahn (dunno how to spell it) crocos, whereas the disprover of that would be the seetalbahn crocs which weren't articulated but just looked like pieces of crap. As it would appear that the term is used to describe a particular form of articulation by far the largest crocodiles were of course the milwaukee EP2 bipolars with their rather dubious 1-B-D-D-B-1 wheel arrangement. But I think it's more semantics here: we all know the general idea of what a crocodile refers to, and no one is ever going to call a bipolar a crocodile, and for the same token the swiss Ce 6/8 (seeing as Be 6/8 was only given to a few of them at a late stage I tend to just call them all Ce's) will always be THE definitive crocodile, and a beauty at that. Funny thing is, you can look at a eurostar, or a taurus, or a TGV, or something else with a slopey front that oozes hitech but the age old crocodiles will always look the business... :)
