Shout out to D.Rose, who just announced his retirement this morning. He was the youngest NBA MVP ever when he won the award at age 22 for the Chicago Bulls. His unfortunate ACL injury and subsequent surgeries robbed him of a lock Hall of Fame career. I hope he still gets in.
Damn that hurted a lot. I am on fisio rehab right now due to an ACL injury, and I saw the post on IG about his retirement. I felt so sad but good for him. This injury is a freaking nightmare. Everybody pleaseee, pleaseee, take care of your knees
@@philb.1502Bil Walton won rings. And played at a time where most Top 75 players hadnt played yet. Too much parity for Rose to get in now that Walton didnt have to compete with
What even scarier & sadder at the same time, that monster 2011 MVP version of D.Rose, wasn't even his PRIME just yet. The reality is, we never really got the chance to see his prime because of his injuries. Still, the youngest MVP in league's history. Enjoy retirement, future Hall of Famer. 💯🌹
He was already injured, he should've been out but he walked in with the inspiration of Kobe and MJ who also played with injuries and still won games. He was just allowed to play if he thought he was fine, usually you're checked out. But the injury he had wasn't critical until he landed wrong. Realistically, he shouldn't have even been in uniform.
If he didn’t get hurt he could of been top 5-10 and the greatest point guard to ever play. The man was already top 3 in the league before his mvp season
@@kingmichaeln1he was like a Russ with less turnovers and more athleticism he would be great but without being able to really shoot I doubt he would be top fifteen

What series were u watching?? Miamis whole defense was designed to get the ball out of D.Rose hands & he still avg 23 ppg…a point guard gettin 23 a game is not him gettin locked up😒
To put it in perspective d Rose was like that but at the same time he was just getting started that's the part that's tragic about it but I wouldn't even say he was in his prime he was going to be even scarier
He should be put into the Hall of Fame. The ones who understand the game will understand why... Future generations must properly know of D Rose. Coming back from those injuries and continuing to persevere in the league and push forward as best as possible. Then learning to maintain a role as a supportive pillar on his teams... IMO, he should get in. On the other hand, if he is not put in, his greatness will be seen and remembered through content covering him. I think the devotion to the craft and the lessons conveyed through one's career, are extremely important considerations.
Imagine if we have had 10 years of D-Rose MVP years.. regardless of how many rings he would have had in that time, he would have definitely been in the GOAT conversation.. he was that unbelievable..
Chicago thought D-Rose was going to be the next Michael Jordan. Unfortunately his injuries kept him from being as great as MJ. I am sorry that his career ended the way it did. I saw him three times, twice at O’Hare Airport and once, last year at a Houston Rockets game, while he was playing for the Memphis Grizzlies. He’s from my hometown and he grew up in the inner city like me. He went to Simon High School, he rose from poverty to the NBA. A diamond in the rough. He worked his butt off to obtain that level of greatness! His story won’t end like this.

Ja Morant time is still coming, no better mentor for him than D Rose to perfect his craft so that he may surpass his own "what if" moment, and can have longevity playing his own game. By that time in Ja career, his presence to the game should be felt as Kd is when he attacks, has everyone thinking it's an automatic bucket and watch him play his own game. D Rose was feared. He played aggressive both sides of the game which led to wear and tear due to efforts he left on the court. He was unpredictable in the league.
D Rose and Penny Hardaway are both multi ring NBA legends if injuries to both of em never occurred. Both were practically unguardable. Word is Kobe traded jerseys with D Rose after they played against each other in LA and Kobe Bryant NEVER traded jerseys with NOBODY! That speaks volumes in terms of the respect Kobe had for Derrick Rose
Consider all the injuries he should still be a Hall of Famer because he was a MVP at one point and made a couple Allstar appearances. He would have made 10+ if healthy and probably another MVP.
He wasn't Kobe, Jordan or those guys but he was great for the short time he played. If not for injuries he possibly could've been up there with those guys. Enjoy people for what they did in the sport

Grant hill, TMac, penny , but I think D rose was an even more “what if” than those because of his story. Drafted by his hometown, a team that never really had a true superstar since Michael, winning mvp , banging against the Celtics in that wild ass series , we was robbed .. that guy checked all the boxes
Yeah man, never seen a player move that fast, saw it in person from college to pro’s,it was unreal..saw him at a hotel downtown Memphis one day and I realized that he’s not small either, legit 6-3 and strong..I understood why he gave players hell on that court, lol
