We always had some rules in war such as not continuing the fight after the sun sets, not backstabbing the opponents, never killing the one who surrenders and so on but these were never followed by the Mughals. This shows how our ancestors were strong and full of bravery...
You cannot play with rules in front of a cult that follows no rules. This is why Rajputs initially lost but they later learned their lesson and prevented Rajputana from getting captured. Saddest part about this is how these rajputs treated the film members without even knowing anything about film. I think this was the best portrayal of any braveheart of our society.

I have no words for how well deepika has played the role as padmavat. Every time she says her diolouges and escpecially the last scene she give me chills. She looked like a real queen. Chittorgarh (Mewar) had 3 big jauhar in the past... First Jauhar in Chittorgarh during Allaudin Khilji in 1303. Second Jauhar of Rani Karnavati in 1534 (Bahadur shah of Gujarat). Third Jauhar of Chittorgarh when the army of Akbar attacked chittorgarh.

people who were saying this is wrong. understand that this was happened in 13th century. in 21st century, when woman's husband unfortunately died, she has option to do a job and live as single. and society accept this. but in 13th century, when a king died in war. he lost his kingdom and her queen. and that kingdom and queen belong to that opponent king. and here in this movie, khilaji is shown very cruel. if you give a girl two option. 1) being raped. 2)being dead. and as a girl i would choose being dead. at that time this was the best option for queens.

This scene was very moving. Some will say this practice is outdated, and why only women commit Jauhar, etc. Firstly men would do Saka (fight until death). These are also medieval practices. In today's context, I agree that it's messed up and an unnecessary glorification of death, but back then what was the alternative? Being tortured to death or sold as a sex slave? It's hard to fathom what went through their minds to take such a drastic step. I wasn't alive then so I will leave it at that. I will say this though: I find many of these comments disappointing. While defiling another religion, many of you unknowingly are spreading the very toxicity you claim the other is perpetuating. Religion is a personal choice. Learn from history and do not use it as a divisive tool. We are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Atheist, etc, but Rajputs will always be Rajput. Parts of men and shove it in the mouth if the dead, to display their victory. This scene was very moving. Some will say this practice is outdated, and why only women commit Jauhar, etc. Firstly men would do Saka (fight until death). These are also medieval practices. In today's context, I agree that it's messed up and an unnecessary glorification of death, but back then what was the alternative? Being tortured to death or sold as a sex slave? It's hard to fathom what went through their minds to take such a drastic step. I wasn't alive then so I will leave it at that. I will say this though: I find many of these comments disappointing. While defiling another religion, many of you unknowingly are spreading the very toxicity you claim the other is perpetuating. Religion is a personal choice. Learn from history and do not use it as a divisive tool. We are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Atheist, etc, but Rajputs will always be Rajput. We venerate our ancestors, respect our history and are always ready to sacrifice for the greater good of humanity. After all, Aasi Rajput Hunde Aan!!!
