I play legacy aoe3 sometimes.. my favourite is britons (in aoe2) and british in aoe3.. as you see in my profile. Longbowman is my favourite unit.. but they underperformed in aoe3 when i massed them.. in an ai game ofc... the ai killed them with cavalry.. but in aoe2 longbowmen are op.. elite longbowmen have 12 range meaning they can literally shoot down a castle outside of the castle's 10 range.. but i trained hussars as backup and they were nice.. are longbowmen great in aoe3? I play this map a lot...and that was a strange generation of the map. Usually have one hunt to start like all maps then one giant hunt usually in the middle. I like playing on new england. Its usually always the same spawn except the island size in the main water.

@@Harrison_Aoe it is a legitimate strat and he explains it in the beginning. If you were playing a boom opponent, especially on water (troop drop off and complete control via ironclad) this strat works. I've seen it work in other situations, you may not like it but opinions are the cheapest commodities in the world.
This game and random strategy was fun I will give you that but...... The german revolt works well vs players who turtle in and base and play ultra defensive but players who have been booming should have enough mass to crush that german army. 10 guard huss is a strong card but the actual german revolt does not give you a great fighting military advantage due to mortars can not engage with units and you have a small initial batch of colonial milita due to having settler wagons instead of many vils. A civ which is on water can build frigates in the 3rd age to defend as frigates stronger than ironclads. Time and shipments spent fighting the water is time given to your opponent to mass a land army. this vid portrays that the german revolt is OP but its like a 4/10 at best and more experienced players should recognise that germany has other stronger options.

Sorry, but i don't understand the revolution level up for troops : with european civilisation, do you get a boost when you age up? How does this work? And with revolution? Thank you in advance, because i find weird each time sam speaks about age 4 imperial cav, artillery, or church age 4 units when you are at age 3 ( the church card)
Hey! So the Revolution age is an age up only available in age 4 to European civs. Each civ has 2 national politicians to choose from. Depending on the politician, you can get certain bonuses. For example, here with Argentina you get 6 imperial mortars. If I trained mortars with this revolution, those would also be imperial. Ottoman and Spain have access to the Chile politician that gives them imperial cavalry. It is the most effective one. You can train cavalry that are imperial when you are in the revolution age. It is a false fact, Germany has nothing in common whit Argentina. Could better if Spain has the argentinian revolution because they did colonized Argentina.
