@@bigdaddytow3r orb walking is when you manually cast orbs like glaives of wisdom/searingarrows/frostarrows/etc, called orbs since wc3. It allows you to not draw aggro from the attack. The idea of alternating between attacking and moving is to chase the enemy or back away easier while still using attacks. Auto-attack keeps your hero in place while u are attacking. So if you need to chase you can attack, then move, then attack, since there is a downtime between attacks anyways.

You can hold alt and press the button for an ability to toggle Autocast, you don't need to right-click it, but seeing you tank a creepwave and buy tome as pos1 explains a lot
