Wow finally! I have the SpeedCross 6 Wide version (black) and I am loving the grip as the trail here in this tropical terrain is only dry and wet/muddy. I really love it and it took 20kms for me to feel that the midsole went softer (I'm a heavy guy around 87 kilos). Though I miss the cushy-light feeling of Hoka Torrent 2, I cannot exchange my SpeedCross 6's amazing fit and it gave me confidence running muddy downhills! Definitely, not the commuter type of shoes and you'll not enjoy if your trail includes pavements or tarmac road. Stick to offroads so you can protect its awesome lugs! Thanks for the review, Seth! More power and God bless you and your family. QOD: I may try new skills so I can apply/share it to my family and friends.
I took my SC4s to 1200+Ks before retiring them to yard work duty. Have 800+ in my 5s and I know I'll get 500 more out of them easily. Absolute tanks. Love then for the forest running that I mainly do.
I finished my 28K trail last week on and around the heighest point of the Netherlands: 322m ;-) But what a blessing using the Speedcross 6. It was a very muddy trail, going up and going down with some steep sections. And yes, exactly what Seth said: amazing grip, both climbing as descending. Great shoe with a great protection.
Absolutely no offense intended but if you've ever taken a Speedcross 5 to 500 miles you'll know that 1000 miles on the durability test is complete and utter bullshit lol. The upper might last that long but nothing else will. Mark it, stamp it, ship it. Guaranteed. I'm 6' 175 pounds so maybe that has something to do with the wear on my shoes. Perhaps people with smaller frames wear out shoes at a different level. IDK. I just genuinely don't understand any of the durability scores you give for shoes. They are so far from reality in my experience
My last 2 pairs of speedcross its the uppers that have let go they split around the little toe area between the lacing and toe box area. And I don't do anywhere near 500miles in them 300 max. I'm 5"11 207 pounds
I would like to know what the hell do you people do with your shoes? Do you shoot at them with an AK47? run them over with a tank? how much do you use these shoes ? like every day 12 hours a day for 2 years? like do you have other pairs or you have just one and you use it non stop? lol. I understand nothing lasts forever but all of you overreact . Maybe take it easy mate, give those shoes a break nothing is built to be used non stop by a gorilla like yourself
I love the fit of the new 6’s. Have used Speedcrosses since it’s first inception. The only thing I found with the regular 6 is my heels packed out after maybe 400km. Vroke down quickly in Iceland. However all of my 6 Goretex models are holding up much longer. Much!! No deterioration. In fact one pair is a daily wear for 7-10km dog hikes and only onecheel lug has worn off.
QD: Reliability. I hope to show up more for myself and others. I have fallen short on my goals and have been quitting when it gets too hard or uncomfortable. thanks for the reminder!
Just got a pair of these. They seem to be pretty comfortable (so far) I haven't been to work yet. Beyond feeling pretty comfortable they seem to support the ankles pretty darn good! I only paid $100 for them vs $140±± Because of the huge lugs on them, I have a feeling I will return them. I walk, stand around a lot, some running. I just don't know how they'll preform on concrete that gets wet!
I have really had good luck with my SC5. But I have found that there is definitely some inconsistencies with quality and wear. Some fit great and last 1000+km where as others last 650 and the insoles are worn out. I just change them at 750 now. Not worth the injuries.
QD: I want to work on making “imperfect” plans and following through on them. I’ll sit down to try to make a running plan or plan out how I’m gonna do my school work, and then I get so stressed out with the little insignificant parts that I either never finish or don’t follow through. But in the end I know an imperfect plan is way better than no plan at all (it’s just convincing myself if that) :)
QOD: I will hopefully find a line of work that I enjoy after I retire from my current career. Put more focus on being happy and relaxed instead of grinding and worrying.
Question.. just purchased these as an everyday walking shoe and being on my feet. I’m assuming I purchased only a hikers shoe not an everyday show? I’m not a runner nor hiker… thoughts?
As long as they're comfortable I wouldn't worry about it. The outsole tread may not be the most comfy for everyday wear on pavement. But if you like them. And they feel good then enjoy them for whatever purpose.

QD: I’m perfect. It’s the running that needs work 😉 Great review on a great shoe! Go DGR 👍
Wow, finally it's arrived the shoe that I've been waiting for a long time. My 8-ish score prediction is correct.

Speedcross 5 broke near my pinky. Both shoes. Bought wide version. Happened below 400km.
Introspection ? That’s not being very inclusive. You are leaving out a number/amount of your regular commenters.
Bro, which shoes do you recommend first for comfort, second for tank build & third for price? We want your honest opinion doesn't matter the brand
Seth is your Instagram page not working?
I love these shoes. I have owned 20+ of them last years. From the 1st version hehe

Can I use this shoe for hiking?

Why ask after having made a purchase? Lol
Happy Monday! Let's get it
Hope your ok! Never seen you ghost Strava in the several years I’ve been following!
What is the lug depth on the speed cross
Please add small ounce to gram conversions for us Europeans…
Uphill and muddy, you say? …candidate for this week’s race, Seth?
First!! DGR Strong!
Good morning!
QD: More patience. People always say I look so calm on the outside but I want to be calm on the inside, too 😬
Qd, I want to become a Saint. I'm a ways off but I'm trying.
You are! No worries, Dan.
He needs a dam good sunday dinner
Hi, i live in Việt Nam made Salomon
IF I TELL YOU AUSTRIA 2023? IS IT REAL?
This is why i love this channel. Every shoe reviewed. Ginger runner wouldn’t touch this shoe with a 10 foot pole.
Also, i love the speed cross line. Still rocking some 3s but I’m bout on aggressive trails too often.
Is this model waterproof?
I hope to be more patient with people
