Null Signal has just released the new set and has knocked it out the park with design. The game is in a great place with diverse decks and strategies and is accessible to everyone as all sets are released as PnP files too!
Null signal is attempting to create enough cards to remove the now difficult originals into a vintage category.

Netrunner was originally cancelled about when i started the channel, otherwise it would have been one of the very first games i reviewed, as it stands this is still the greatest competitive card game ever made . I'm really glad the community has been able to bring it back to life.
I’ve tried it a few times. I agree I love it need to invest in the Null Signal starters and start playing again. One of the most thematic card games I’ve played

The fact that Netrunner is Print-and-Play is also one the more subversive and coolest things ever in gaming ever atm. I've printed my own set a couple of years back, but never found someone to play with, as admittedly this is a difficult game to get into and it's so far outside most people's reference of what games can be, that people bounce off hard.
I find it's been easy showing the starter decks (with their boosters) to friends that are already into board games. Many of us used to be into card games growing up, but they all eventually end up being pay to win. Netrunner being non-profit complete fixes card game's biggest issues, plus the game has a great theme, engaging mechanics, and a lot of room for creative expression! It's just so solid that I plan to keep introducing this game to people with that itch. Plus I really enjoy the personalize aspect of it, you can buy cards/tokens or slap together your own prints and scraps, which can also add to the themes of corp and runner haha

The best 2 player game ever. I once had a substantial server with Jarvis activated. Jarvis is a card that gives the corporation another action each turn. The runner took two turns to set up and run the server. He hacked down to the base, and before accessing the Jarvis card to destroy it the Corp is allowed to activate a card. I activated another Jarvis in the next server. Jarvis is a unique card you can only have one in play. If a second unique card of the same is activated the original is discarded. So the runner fully depleted himself to get to the bottom of a now empty server! Revenge is a dish best served cold!
This kind of move is even more common now with Spin Doctor
I got into the NISEI stuff last year and was blown away by it. I missed out on it for so many years and and glad it's feasible for people to get.
WOW! There will NEVER be a better explanation in 3 minutes of this amazing game. I am a huge MTG fan and I was always put off by the theme (it's just super boring to me). Then I read in an article that Netrunner was Garfield's "fix" for what he felt was missing or wrong from MTG. And I was instantly intrigued. I went and spent WAY too much money on the FFG stuff and now that the Null Signal stuff is here: I wish I waited. If you like head to head: this game is one of THE best for the reasons listed in this great video. I think the LCG model NEEDS to live in this sphere: where you cannot just assemble a deck but it's about the decisions you make. The LCG version of Legend of the Five Rings is like that too. Highly suggest that one while the game is cheap to find in the wild. Matches will last a little longer than NR but it's also really based about decisions in game. Even one copy of the base game and the two decks you can make with it are good.

Great to see you cover this. My favourite game of all time. I’m lucky enough to have a complete Android Netrunner collection, plus System Gateway. The work that Null Signal Games has been doing with Netrunner has been stellar, and System Gateway is a fantastic way in. The best two player game ever.

Old Netrunner player here, currently obsessed with 7th sea city of five sails. Different game but same itch.
One of the most original games ever. I still play it with my partner from time to time. Love it!
Android Netrunner is my favorite game of all time, I’ve played thousands of games of it, but I’m now retired. I tried some of the Null Signal stuff, and while I respect what they are doing and support them in their goals (and am happy that people are loving it), it always felt more like watching a cover band playing if that makes sense. Like reading fan fiction. So I decided to leave my Netrunner journey at the official end of FFG support. But I’m happy that a lot of people are still going strong.

It might help to remember that FFG netrunner was already Netrunner fan fiction, as the original game came out a decade earlier.
@@3MBG True, although it’s the one I started with. I have played original Netrunner, which is interesting but I liked the decisions FFG made in cleaning it up.

We've been running weekly games locally in a bar down town every tuesday for... I dunno, since the start of the game really? Of course we kind of dwindled from a lot of players to even around 2 or so during the time when NSG was only being talked about and FFG hit the lid on it, but we've again growed to around 6 players. And now I'm running demos again in a local board game club!
Weekly games. For 10 years? Every week. I do know I'm priviledged with that. It's been ace, and Netrunner remains ace to this day.
Brilliant, i have a video coming up about playing games over and over again and netrunner gets a shout out, im trying to do what i can to steer people away from Magic, Lorcana and all those cash sinks into netrunnner
I bought a tonne of Nisei stuff, but had to sell it because I couldn't find anyone in person who wanted to play it, so I just played online instead.
A friend tried to teach me this game. We then played a game. I lost. This video gave me PTSD of this time.

I love this game. I was sad I couldn't buy it during its original run with Cerb and other places in Wellington supporting it. Now I just hope to find cheap second hand copies and beg my friends to learn to play it with me.
Second hand stuff is getting harder to find and more expensive, at least here in England. The stuff that Null Signal Games have been doing is great and well worth checking out (System Gateway is the starter set)

No, review copy of the new version of the game made by null signal. A whole new starter box.
Wish I could still support this project. I ordered a ton of cards, only for them to change the card backs.
I always play sleeved, so that would not be an issue.
NSG has a program on their website to replace cards with the revised edition card backs free of cost if you return them FYI
you can just sleeve them with coloured sleeves.
I think in tournament play they mandate opaque sleeves for this reason.
You use sleeves for card games like this, dummy

I have never played this game. Its just a wish for a game like this to be for 4 players
I don't think it could work. I'm not sure how it could work. 1 player is the corporation and the other hacks that Corp. How could others be incorporated or what would it add to the game?

FWIW, this is available at retail in at least a few places. I learned this when I saw it on the shelf at 401 Games in Toronto last month.

I love Netrunner, but it's my number one example for a lifestyle game. Playing casual was not feasable back then. As you said, simply netdecking does not make you able to win with those decks. As Runner and Corpo you absolutely need to know all rez, break and trash costs of the currently en vogue ICE and server installs.
Freaking awesome game. I've got a fair bit of old stuff for it (not pre FFG old though) and that's plenty for a nice solid pool that we can construct a variety of decks from. The bluffing in this can be so high stakes and that makes it an amazing feeling to call correctly.
Dang I’m so desperate for this game to have an app where I can play against other humans or AIs. I know no one who still plays or of any local groups.

I am confused about the offer from Null signal games. They send physical cards to you but from my understanding it’s not the cards that existed on the original games and expansion… am I correct ?
Correct, they are a continuation of the game. You can use old cards as well. or not. there are many formats you can play

Most of that was a decade ago, i did lose a tournament to a cheater though. Closest i've ever come to punching someone at a games event.
Great video! You should link to NSG in the description. Together with the mixing of FFG tokens and NSG cards in the video it's a bit confusing who you're actually referring to. The NSG core set has its own bgg page too, you're linking to the FFG one here.
(And NSG don't call it "Android:" Netrunner anymore. Android is FFG:s setting that they still are retaining rights for.)
I will do none of those things. None of the "errors" you have pointed out are errors. They are deliberate decisions i made in order to maximize the reach and impact of this video. Please do not assume that I am an idiot that you need to tell how to do you tube properly. It's patronizing.
I have absolutely no opinion about how best to maximize traffic. I gladly leave that to the professionals and I'm assuming nothing. I'm just expressing a desire to see the current maintainers of the game get credit and to see potential new players pointed in the right direction. Because I want our community to grow.

I bought this when it first came out, sadly I could never find anyone who wanted to play, most would play a couple of games and not be interested getting into it any further.. I could always see something wonderful in it though... so it goes.
Big online community still playing it. (I prefer in personal, but the community out there is a thing)

They have agreements with the rights holders, it's all documented and discussed transparently on the nullsignal site. It's why they are having trouble bringing it to the EU right now

Wizards of the coast allowed their trademark to expire. It is held by R. Talsorian these days, and they are only using it for rpg stuff.
