@speedy01247 I've learned that anything with dairy. Like cream of mushroom, cream of celery, etc. Can rot and shouldn't be eaten after the expiration date.
I haven't had the ground beef, but I do buy this brand. I use the canned beef for beef and noodles. The fat content in the can makes a delicious broth.
Beef and noodles would be perfect for the canned beef! I'll have to use it for that. I highly recommend the ground beef. Very good and can use it for so many recipes. Thanks for watching!
I stumbled upon Keystone years ago and started trying the different varieties. It’s one of the few brands with simple ingredients. It’s been a pantry staple ever since. You can home can ground beef as well. Lots of videos online.
I've had all of the Keystone canned meats home delivered through Walmart after ordering online from the Walmart site. They can probably be ordered through Amazon, too. They are very good, and yes, I would order them again.😊
That's awesome! I'm so glad to hear you like them, too. I think they're great. Some people have said if you order directly through the keystone website, they have better prices than ordering through walmart, so next time you need to order, maybe check that out. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for this information! I’m glad to know you can order this from Walmart . I was about to post a question about whether or not Walmart carries it and then I saw your comment. Thanks!
I buy this brand because of the fat content and only salt added. Last i used it, i made ground meat sandwich, w/mayo and onions and garlic. Very good. Mom used to make hers from leftover beef roast.
And I also really like that it has so much fat, protein, and the only preservative is salt. Perfect for prepping since so many other preps are carbs or low calorie. I definitely feel better eating lots of protein.
Canned meats last FOREVER! I've eaten Kirkland and Keystone beef 5 years past "expiration" and it was DELICIOUS. I regularly keep these products in my pantry and use them in constant rotation now. I'm learning to pressure can my own meat because these are getting so expensive.
That’s awesome! It’s such a great prepper food. I’m trying to keep mine in rotation now too. I used to can, then life got busy, so I’m trying to work it back into my life-for a while it didn’t save much money, now it sure would be cheaper to can our own! Thank you for your great comment!

@@RobynOnTheFarm You're Welcome. Good luck with the enchiladas. There's just no end to the things you can make out of canned Keystone meats. I always keep some beef and chicken on hand.
After watching this I saw this at my grocery store the very next week and wondered if it tastes as bad as it looks... so I bought some, opened the can, spooned out the fat, started cooking (heating) it, and was VERY impressed with the smell and taste. This stuff ROCKS!
YES!! I'm so glad you like it!! It really is good! I love that you had very low expectations but gave it a try anyway. That is awesome! Thanks so much for this great comment!

I love all of the Keystone meats. For the ground beef I drain off any broth and remove the fat and then rinse in a wire mesh strainer. After that I add it to a pan with just a bit of oil and season and brown a bit (even though it's already fully cooked), it just adds more to the flavor.
I still have a small emergency food hoard. It started when Covid arrived and I still have a little stock pile in the back room. Last week strip steak was on sale for $6.99 lb. I bought six and put them in the freezer. Having steak once or twice a month is a treat.
That is a great deal on steak! It really is a great treat, especially when you can find it for a deal. Way to keep your emergency food supply going. You never know when you may need it again! Thanks so much for being here!
It really does taste great! I was shocked. I should have drained the broth before, I do now that I've been using it more. Sloppy Joes would be perfect for this ground beef, too. A perfect prepper pantry/shelf stable meal. Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!
For anyone with a gall bladder issue, of you refrigerate the can before opening it's easy to remove the excess fat. The broth in the beef that is in chunks (what I usually get) is tasty and great to use in ricr or soup so definitely keep it.
I also have that product. I bought a half pallet on discount. I bought 6 cans before I purchased the pallet. Goes good with rice and gravy. With eggs. On tortillas. Even tacos with a Taco seasoning packet. I recommend it. Try some first before you invest so you can experiment with different recipes. Great add on for top ramen with some green onions, mushrooms,. I even put it on sliced bread with cheese.
Great comment! Thank you! These are fantastic uses for this. I’m glad you like it too. A half pallet!! That’s awesome!!!👏 You’re prepared! How many cans is a half pallet?!
The moisture comes out of the meat when cooking. It isn’t added broth just so people know. The meat is cooked in the can and this is the same if you did it.
Thank you for adding this! When canning, just the beef and salt is added to the can and the broth is a result of the cooking/canning process, not added. Thank you for pointing that out!
I ordered 15 for my hone emergency prep. So happy to hear it tastes good as I wasn't sure. I'm just prepping for the incase of later. Got mine at Wal Mart online. If you spend $35. Everything is shipped to you for free

I actually throw the grease chunks away too rich fir me but keep the broth helps to cook the meat without drying it will just evaporate. The shredded beef is good too, i actually made pot roast from it, italian beef sandwiches too, i used some of grease when i made both
Great ideas for all! On a normal day, I’ll probably remove a lot of the fat, but in an emergency situation, we’ll be eating every last drop! I love the fat in it for prepping because it’s hard to get fat in the preps. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

I will try; Stuffed Cabbage, & Stuffed Peppers, 1 egg should hold rice, cooked beef & other ingredients like onion, celery, peppers together.
I bet loaded baked potatoes with chili made with that beef would be a great entree'.

It's great to know it can still be good even longer after the expiration date.
@@justinrabbitt9492 most if not all canned foods are edible way after expiration cause they go stale not rotten. So the food tastes worse and you probably will get sick at first but it's still edible and could keep you alive even decades after canning.
@speedy01247 I've learned that anything with dairy. Like cream of mushroom, cream of celery, etc. Can rot and shouldn't be eaten after the expiration date.

Awesome! Im definitely going to try this and the others that have been mentioned in comments! Thank you!
Fantastic! I sure hope you can find it and like it! It’s all so good for prepping and quick meals. Thanks for being here!

I like all the Keystone meats. One can goes a long way. I can make tacos, enchiladas, etc out of one can. The enchiladas freeze well too.
Yes, there is so much meat in one can! I feel like even though they've gotten expensive (like everything else), they are a value because they're already cooked and there is a lot in there. I will have to make some enchiladas next! Thanks for watching!

After watching this I saw this at my grocery store the very next week and wondered if it tastes as bad as it looks... so I bought some, opened the can, spooned out the fat, started cooking (heating) it, and was VERY impressed with the smell and taste. This stuff ROCKS!

I love all of the Keystone meats. For the ground beef I drain off any broth and remove the fat and then rinse in a wire mesh strainer. After that I add it to a pan with just a bit of oil and season and brown a bit (even though it's already fully cooked), it just adds more to the flavor.
Thanks for this tip! Will try it like that. I like all that I’ve tried so far. Thanks for watching!
The pork one is so good for pulled pork sandwiches
@@allytaylor7058 that’s how I want to try it next! Did you just drain it, heat it, and add barbecue sauce?

I still have a small emergency food hoard. It started when Covid arrived and I still have a little stock pile in the back room. Last week strip steak was on sale for $6.99 lb. I bought six and put them in the freezer. Having steak once or twice a month is a treat.
That is a great deal on steak! It really is a great treat, especially when you can find it for a deal. Way to keep your emergency food supply going. You never know when you may need it again! Thanks so much for being here!
I have tried this Keystone ground beef and it tastes great. I tend to drain the broth before I start making sloppy joes or spaghetti
Thanks for this great tip! That is a good idea to easily remove the fat if you can’t have it. Thanks so much for being here!
It's funny that I saw this short, and I, too, just recently bought and ate it. It wasn't too bad. It would be great for emergencies.
I’m glad you’ve tried it! Yes, great for emergencies and not too bad at all! Thanks for watching and being here!
