Then he (Indra) said: I am the Spirit of the vital breath, the intelligent Self. As such, worship me as life, as immortality. Life is the vital breath: the vital breath is life. For as long as the vital breath remains in the body so long is there life. For indeed with the vital breath one obtains immortality in this world; with intelligence, true conception. So he who worships me as life, as immortality, reaches the full term of life in this world; he obtains immortality and indestructibility in the heavenly world.

Beautiful! I can't help but connect this to the Hellenic concept of Zeus/Jupiter, the mind of the world, the giver of the breath of life, the conqueror of Chronus (time) and therefore mortality, the thunderer, the King of the Gods, the one whose eye birthed Athena, the virgin goddess of wisdom and warfare, the progenitor of the conscious man.. our great God, known by many names: Zeus, Jupiter, Indra, Perun, Thor, Perkunas and many more. Our father and savior, praised He be, and may us men, even if few nowadays that honor Him, bask in His wisdom and glory forever! Hail the thunder God, glory to the King of Cosmos ⚡

I may be of Irish/Scottish/Welsh, Iberian and a little meso American descent, but I recognize truth when I see it. This is one true indigenous religion that the black brotherhood couldn't stamp out. A race of people who could not be genocided. when I say "black brotherhood", I am talking about the cath o lic church (not trying to get censored). Many other faiths and cultures and peoples were not as fortunate. I've been studying this mighty and ancient belief system and it's sacred texts for years and, to my ears, it sounds like the TRUTH. I have a special place for Kali, as it was her who called me to it. So yeah, this white girl is with you. 💖💖💖💖💖🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🕉️

Lol Indra would consider Patels and Krishna to be Dasas. Patel’s were originally Gujarati Shudra peasants, and the majority of their ancestors thousands of years back were Dravidian-speaking people. Only about 12% of Patel ancestry is from Proto-Indo-Iranians. Patels traditionally cannot be patrons for yajnas or learn the Vedas. Indra looks down upon Patels as Dasas meant to be conquered and driven away by the sacrificing Arya peoples. In order to please Indra an Arya man must first have the sacred thread ceremony, then spent their adolescence out of society with other teenage boys. During this period a teenage male must spend the winter half of the year on the move raiding and capturing and seizing land, cattle, property, and women. They must then spend the summer half learning the Vedas and other knowledge. After completing education, a male returns to society and marries. He is now reintegrated into society and is bound by their rules and principles. Now if he is an average Vaishya, he will be satisfied with only the domestic rites that are at minimum required for the Aryas. For a low Kshatriya, he can become an initiated sacrificer called a yajamana. After establishing the three sacrificial fires (including the domestic one), he may perform the Agnihotra, New Moon and Full Moon sacrifices, and other small non-domestic rituals. After establishing a routine of those rituals, he may perform the seasonal Chaturmasya and yearly Soma ritual. After establishing a routine with these rituals, can perform the seven other soma rituals, called soma-sanstha. That is the highest a low-Kshatriya may go. Noble Kyshatriyas and small Rajas (after completing the above) may then perform the Agnichayana or Gavamayana. A Noble Kshatriya can become a low Raja through an abhisheka, or a standard Raja through the Rajabhisheka and Ekarajabhisheka, or just the Aindrabhisheka. Finally, for the highest Raja status, he must perform the Rajasuya. If the king is still not satisfied, he may perform the Ashvamedha to proclaim his suzerainty over all of Aryavarta from the Hindu Kush to the Vindyas to norther Bihar. If you are a Brahmin then you are expected to know your family’s and school’s traditions regarding the performance of these rituals. But in the end, Gujarat is not a part of Aryavarta, Patels are Shudras and thus forbidden from performing these sacred Vedic rituals, and Indra despises Shudra non-Vedic peasants who do not sacrifice to him. Additionally, you are named after Krishna, a man who was famous for defying the worship and respect to Indra, a man who belonged to a Dravidian Yadava cowherd tribe. Indra should bring justice by smiting you with the his Vajra as you do not perform sacrifice to him.

@Dhayanan Hemraaj Indra cannot be the first Kshatriya because the Kshatriya varna did not even exist in the Rigveda. In the Rigveda there is only the Arya varna and the Dasa varna. The Arya varna is those who properly speak Rigvedic Sanskrit and sacrifice to Rigvedic deities, and the Dasa varna is those who do not speak Rigvedic Sanskrit and do not follow Rigvedic customs and religious practices. Indra is never called a Kshatriya because the concept of the four varnas didn’t exist during that time. It was only in the later Vedic texts that the Arya varna was split into Brahmin varna, Kshatriya varna, and Vaishya varna, and the Dasa varna was renamed the Shudra varna. The varnas are categories of humans, not gods, and Indra is never considered the first Kshatriya.

India started to decline since last 3 thousand years. Also whats true in the same line is that the worship of Indra has declined. There must be a link between the two. Indra is the god of power since he himself so much into power. Worship of Indra gives one power. Indians have become weak since they stopped praying to Indra. Indians of Vedic time were very strong and also liked power. But after around 5th century BC, Indians started seeing power as a bad thing and started worshipping weakness and detachment. Thats the reason for fall of India. indra is the only missing link between Hinduism and power.

      @DurgeshYadav-ip1zr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

True but I'd say the timeline is wrong. The decline of Vedas started some 1000 years ago.
Sure, the cults of Rama, Krishna and Buddha, Mahavir had been formed since the Mahajanpad age but India still revered the Vedas.
Few examples would be, Ashoka's epithet, Devanampriya aka beloved of the Gods.
Then Harisena's Prayagraj inscription on Samundragupta, arguably the greatest Indian Emperor. Samundragupta was compared to Indra and Varuna and not to Vishnu or Shiva, which says a lot.
Then you have Harsha, who was a devotee of Surya Dev, the Sun God.
Finally, the title of Mihir Bhoj of Gurjara Pratihars, ' Maharajdhiraj of Aryavarta' or Emperor of all the Aryans in the 10th century, I guess.

@Kevin this is a complex topic and I overall agree yet you need to reconsider my points. Knowing Vedas was a must if you wanted to admit in Nalanda during Harsha's reign, of course some may have just rot learned those. Complete decline happened only in the late Classical Age with Abrahamic religions entering subcontinent, Puranas taking the centre stage and Bhakti Movement.

Mostly it has happened due to the fact that most brahmans came from the 'vaishnava' tribe and Vishnu was also the part of this tribe, while in the times of Rig Ved Vishnu was always the commander of Indra, Vishnu was not main guy in rig ved or in those times , so this infuriated the Vaishnavs who tried to Show indra was below Vishnu, this is why you will always see AVATARS OF Vishnu always disrespecting Indra(as he is always shown as an evil) and Devotees of Shiva in texts written later than Rig Veda. Its total propaganda. Even today it exists, everybody is bieng brain washed to 'Jai Shree Ram' instead of 'Har Har Mahadev' etc.

Indra deva still remains an important deva in the Hindu-Vedic faith. as we well know there are several versions about indra and its stories ... but ultimately indra is still revered by many devotees like me. I believe in shiva he is the mahadev the elder god the supreme although equally there are brahman and vishnu. The trimurti are different manifestations of the same origin, that is to say ishwar or bhagwan in other words GOD in the Hindu faith. and in the case of indra, in truth he is one of the manifestations of mahadev - shiva as well as agni is attributed to one of the manifestations of shiva mahadev together with indra. In the end everything has the same origin as ishwar-bhagvan or deva-devi bone refers to GOD.

*You are a bit wrong* Shiva has got nothing to do with Indra.
Indra is the god of Sense. That's why his name comes from the word "indriya" he was first worshipped by the warriors who wanted greater and stronger senses, to be used in battle and duels. Later he was established as the god of thunder and rain storms.
He is an absolutely separate god from Shiva. Indra existed long long before the concept of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara came into Hinduism. Indra appeared Approximately 2000 years before tge holy Trinity in Hinduism. Because Hinduism was premitive and back then people still worshiped the forces of nature. Like Rain and Thunder as Indra dev, Fire as Agni Dev, etc...
Later the phylosophy developed and Hinduism became a religion of the soul, the Atman. While Indra was the god of the sense organs, the indriyas. His popularity decreased... If u read the Purans, you'll notice a deliberate attempt to soil Indra's image. Plus slowly the concept of The Trinity became more accepted and a huge amount of phylosophy came with it... which were superior than the previous ones... The early concept of worshipping the nature's forces became obsolete.
The word "Shiva" means "non existent" or "un-manifested" reffering to the vast un-manifested part of the space that is eating up the manifestated part slowly, which will restart the creation of the universe once the destruction has been done. Hence Shiva is called the destroyer. Shiva's phylosophy is greater than many. Hence called mahadev! He is in no way related to Indra.

Brahma / Świętowit. At the request of the Most High, he creates the world. The most famous temple in Europe is the one in Arkona. They are still in India. Few. Jena or two. Brahma / Svetovit is also a spiritual master for all souls inhabiting our world.
Indra / Perun / Zeus / Jupiter - King of heaven. Warrior. He's at war with demons. Protects the world. Responsible for water supply.

@@LoneWolf21672 The Vedic culture of the Slavs was stopped several hundred years ago by Christianity and in India this spiritual culture has survived. Therefore we study the Vedas, especially the Bhagavat Gita and Srimad-Bhāgavatam. After the Battle of Kuruksetra and after Yudhisthira surrendered his throne, Parikshit became king of the Aryan world. He was the son of Abhimanyu and Uttara. In the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam in Canto I there is a mention that the king who was ruling at that time in Europe, including Poland, assumed the sovereignty of Maharaja Parikshit. Then, after 4,000 thousand years, the Vedic culture gradually weakened because it was cut off from saintly persons and spiritual succession. As a result, Europe, including Poland, adopted Christianity. Another 1,000 years have passed until now. But there is a great spiritual dilemma regarding Christianity because Christianity limits the Unlimited God to three persons. They are God the Father, the God of God, and the Holy Spirit. God the Father is Yahweh. When you read the Old Testament you will understand that Yahweh is not God, the Supreme Person. We may respect that some people have accepted him as God, but this must not obscure our spiritual perspective. As you probably know the Brahma-samhita begins this way: isvarah paramah krsnam sac-cid-ananda-vigraham anadir adir govindam sarva-karana-karanam ……. This indicates precisely who God the Supreme Person is. The same is confirmed by the Bhagavat Gita and the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. I am writing this to make the readers aware that even after several thousand years the spiritual truth cannot be veiled and now it is coming back to Europe.
      I also greet you.

Also, Indra is not only worshiped in ancient Vedic faith alone. Indra is worshiped throughout the Ancient world and still enjoys relatively popular worship. In Ancient Greece, Roman or Etruscan people Indra is worshiped as Lord Zeus/Jupiter. In Ancient China and currently, he is worshiped as Jade Emperor, in Norse Mythology he is worshiped as Thor. Zeus, Jade Emperor, Indra are names attributed to the Heavenly King of Gods and share many similarities - Ruler of Heaven, destroyer of Evil, ruler of mankind and King of Gods. I am Chinese devotee of Sanata Dharma and I really love Lord Indra. I love this mantra very much as it depicts His Greatness riding Airavata with His tremendous power wielding Vajrasthra, great thunderbolt punishing evil.

I've seen many people disrespecting Lord Indra and making negative comments about him and thinking he's arrogant, egoistic or negative. Though in reality he's not arrogant or egoistic he is God. According to the vēdas Lord Indra is the supreme lord even the 33 kōtī dēvtas (33 types of gods) like the 2 aśvinī kumāras, 8 vasūs, 12 ādityas and 11 rudras bow before him, obey his command and worship him. A lot of Indian TV serials these days portray him as a negative god or as arrogant/egoistic when in reality he is not.
In the vēdic texts Lord Viṣṇū is the younger brother of Lord Indra. According to vēdic texts Lord Indra is considered to be superior as well as Paraṃeśvara/Īśvara.
